Everyone I called said their earliest appointment was two months out. I didn't want to wait that long so I kept calling. The last on my list was Dr Drange. When I spoke to Lucas he said he had an appointment available in 3 weeks. Perfect! Out of everyone I spoke to Lucas was also the friendliest. He explained that I needed to fill out some paperwork first and he would e-mail it to me. Within a few minutes it was in my in box. The day of my appointment I arrived at the office a bit early. I was the only one on the waiting room and a cheerful Lucas greeted me right away. A few minute later Roberto took my temperature then escorted me in. Much like Lucas I immediately got a good vibe from Roberto. He is so chilled and laid back. He took my vitals and walked me to the exam room. A few short minutes later Dr Drange came in. She took the time to listen to me and explained to me what the next steps would be to determine my diagnosis. She suggested an ultrasound of my thyroid and a more in-depth blood test - both of which she could do in her office. Dr Drange did the ultrasound herself - explaining things along the way. Then she brought me to another room where Roberto would take my blood. I dread blood test but Roberto immediately put me at ease. He was very gentle when taking my blood and it didn't hurt at all. I wish all techs were this good! A week later Dr Drange called with the results of my tests and my diagnosis. It's so hard to find a good Dr but I really felt comfortable with her. I appreciated that she listened to my concerns and explained everything to me and made sure I understood what was going on. When I came back for my follow up visit I had the same pleasant experience. Doctor visits are always scary and stressful so I really appreciate the effort that Dr Drange and her staff make to make sure their patients are comfortable and put them at ease. I'm so grateful I found them and am even more grateful that she is going to help me get my life and health back on track.

Unfortunately, my last experience was not a pleasant one. Last week, I spoke to the receptionist…read morebecause my refills of my prescription had run out so I booked an appointment a week out and was told to go to any Quest location to get bloodwork done. During the same call, I also told the receptionist I needed copies of my files for my Physician and eventually for a new endocrinologist because I moved from the Pasadena area. She said that I would need to fill out the form that will be emailed to me and I would receive the documents within 48 hours. Unfortunately, I did not receive the documents on time which caused me to have to reschedule my appointment with my physician. This past Tuesday, I had to call their office to cancel my appointment because I couldn't get an appointment for bloodwork. I told the receptionist I would call back in once I have gotten the bloodwork done. Today (Thursday) I took time to go to Quest to get bloodwork done and I was told they do not have any requests for bloodwork sent by Dr. Drange's office. So, I waited for about 30-45 minutes and they still didn't receive anything. Unfortunately, I couldn't get a hold of anyone from their office around 11 a.m. or 12:00 p.m.-12:25 p.m. so Quest had to deny my appointment and told me I had to rebook it for another time. Around 12:45 p.m. I received a call from Ruth stating because I requested a transfer of records that they cancelled the bloodwork request. The transfer of records and bloodwork was being done concurrently, so it doesn't make sense to close out my records at their office if that wasn't even communicated to me. It would have been helpful if the receptionist told me on Tuesday when I had to cancel my appointment that they were going to close out my records as a patient, so I didn't have to take time out of my day to try to get bloodwork. On a positive note there is room for improvement, if the front desk and their medical records department kept better lines of communication it would really help their patients out to avoid these misunderstandings and time wasted on the patients' side. And since the receptionist is their first line of contact, the receptionist should note in their system what was spoken about to the patient if it could potentially affect what it done on their medical records side of their office.

So we can't even call him. My girlfriend had an appointment with this doctor, he made her some injections, then tried to take the blood for the test. During the blood take he & his assistant were unprotected. They didn't know where all accessories for blood collection are. After some confusion running to different rooms they found some tools and then horrified experience started: 1. His assistant has dropped a disinfection wipe & instead of opening a new one proceeded to use this dirty one 2. The blood take took too long time (we were to a lot of different labs and its always MUCH quicker process) 3. After the blood take my girlfriend turned pale, told me she is losing consciousness and then fell down with a seizure (which she never ever experienced in life anything like that) 4. Doctor & assistant have started doing anything only after I yelled at them to do something. 5. In the end my girlfriend came to consciousness sobbing. 6. After that most horrific experience in my life I, too, almost lost consciousness in that office. 7. The doctor couldn't explain us anything why did it happen. 8. The doctor has vanished from the office immediately after my girlfriend was awake. 9. Initially we were told that the blood test results will be ready within 2-3 business days. 10. We tried to contact the doctor but HE BLOCKED OUR PHONE NUMBER!!! So we can't even reach him 11. After 1 MONTH of calls to the office we were told that they "LOST THE BLOOD" WTF wrong with this place??!?! AVOID THIS PLACE AT ANY COST!!!

At one time BEFORE the Dr. was a part of some consortium or something (called West Coast Neurology...none of whom are good, caring doctors) there was just one set of staff. They were competent. I had no issues with their work. After he separated and got his own staff (which I'll also note have NO diversity at all) have been horrible and uum, not very bright/intelligent. This matters! As a patient you want competent, well trained folks involved in your health care (medications, etc). On a prior occasion his staff didn't understand simple middle-school math which MatterS, especially when it comes to meds' dosage, for goodness sake. Yesterday I called to fix a situation with not receiving my meds. The pharmacy refused to fill my RX because of the errors made by Dr. B's staff, specifically Sajona (per the pharmacy who actually spoke with her). She had put in order for my meds to be in the form of syringes. I've NEVER received them in that way except for once by Dr.B staff error that time too. My meds are supposed to be auto-injectors. I was referred to Dr. B's assistant, Arianna, to correct this mistake, along with Another mistake with the same meds. My last rct. of these meds was too much. I received a 3 month supply all at once. I'm supposed to receive only a 30-day/one month supply at a time. This needs to be refrigerated. Auto injections take up a lot of space in the fridge and/so 3 mos. worth is too much, not to mention the 'freshness/viabilty' aspect. Arianna claimed that this was an error on the part of the authorizing medical MedRx because said the Dr.'s original order was for a 3mo. supply. I told her that she was Wrong, I've had this Dr. for at least 10 years and never got 3 mos. supply all at once except for now.The Dr. has to reissue/redo Authorizations for these meds every 3mos. but Not a 3 month supply. I had to explain this to Aurianna, and I, the patient shouldn't have to explain Her job to her. She insisted that she was looking at the Dr.s order and it was 4 a 3month supply. She refused to take accountability for HER lack of knowledge and said that the insurer must have changed their rules to authorize 3mos. Wrong! I was in a 3-way call with both the Med-RX people and Molina. Med RX pulled my info. and said the Dr.s order was for a 30-day supply only! When I called back to the Dr.s office (and I called Before the end of the office hours) suddenly NO ONE answered the phone! Interesting (because I know they have caller ID/ can see the # that's calling). Incompetent, non-educated, unprofessional, passing the buck, not taking accountability describes this Dr.s staff, periodt! I'm diligently searching elsewhere!

He is not only professional, knowledgable, but also personable. The medical system was so confusing in the US, as the only person who speaks English in an immigrant family, I've accompanied my family going through many of the medical exams and procedures, often had more frustrations and disappointment than assurance. Dr.Pan was one of the best doctors I've ever encountered who's really worth the respect and gratitude. I hope there would be more physicians who can exhibit the professionalism and CARE at such level as Dr.Pan, it was a relief to know your health will be left in good hands instead of just being labeled with a case number, spending more time with the nurse taking vital signs instead of actually get questions addressed by the doctor. I've experienced persistent rectal bleeding and pain, while my Primary Doctor sent me home after a three-minute appointment with a prescribed laxative, which barely improved my situation. I was nervous as the pain progress and was too embarrassed to discuss it with others, I turned to Google for help, the information online only worsen my concerns and left me with even more questions. I was SO Glad that I was treated by Dr.Pan at the inSite Digestive HealthCare at the SGV office after weeks of suffering. He really took the time to listen to my concerns and discuss the possible solution for my case. The initial consultation went so smooth that I felt like I was just having a conversation with a caring family/friend. Besides his excellent bedside manners, Dr.Pan did efficiently resolved my situation with two quick painless procedures, he knew what he was doing as an experienced specialist. What impressive about Dr.Pan was that he actually remembered his patients personally, not just their names on the chart, but topics they've had during previous appointment. I expected that doctors having those convo out of professionalism, but didn't expected them to actually remembered or even care. When Dr.Pan asked me about how my study plans went which I've only mentioned once two WEEKs ago, I was surprised. Dr.Pan truly did care and remember his patients, and it SHOWs. During the wait time, while I got to observe how he interacted with the other patients, without surprise, he greeted everyone with kindness, patients and staff, elder or young. Dr.Pan is fluent in Mandarin Chinese, and he also speaks good amount of Spanish. He would greet the patients in their native tongue when the patients arrive, asked whether they've improved since last visit. and personally explained the post-procedure care and answer questions before patients were released. I've accompanied my mom to get her regular colonoscopy done at another health center earlier this year, and she was discharged with two sheets of paper without a word with the attending gastroenterologist, yet now I know whom to ask for in the future if anyone who have get GI problems that need to be well taken care of.

I booked the Boyle Heights off because of its location. When making the appointment they do not tell you the procedures are done farther away in Arcadia. They don't tell you that when you arrive. You spend 25 minutes filling out forms to see a nice nurse for about 10 minutes who only asks you questions then leads you back to reception where they finally tell you the appointment is in Arcadia. Then they hand you papers with all the crazy awful information that should have been brought up in the appointment: if you're vegan, you basically can't eat anything for a week before. Instead of a prescription colon cleanse, they want you to buy some over the counter stuff including Gatorade. Obviously they're not concerned with sugar consumption. They also switched doctors without telling me. It obviously didn't occur to them the patient who has to endure this invasive procedure has a right to know all these details before they walk out the door with all the bad news on a handful of papers. Totally inconsiderate of the patient. The doctor may be great (I'll probably never know) but the practice is not recommended. It's all about their convenience and your side doesn't matter.

Since then, communication, follow-up care, and billing coordination have been extremely problematic. I do want to acknowledge that James in the front office and nurse Michelle have always been kind, responsive, and supportive -- they truly try their best with patients and families. Prior to the recent issues, our experience over the years with Dr. Niesen and PA Laura was unfortunately very difficult in terms of care consistency and overall coordination. My son Lukas has full Medi-Cal coverage (Health Net Community Solutions) with CCS authorization, yet claims were not properly submitted to insurance and were instead billed directly to us and even sent to collections. This caused unnecessary stress while my child needs ongoing neurological care. More importantly, there was a period when the neurologist was unreachable regarding medication side effects, seizure management, and EEG interpretation. This lack of continuity contributed to serious anxiety and medical concerns until Children's Hospital Los Angeles stepped in to stabilize his care. Families dealing with pediatric neurological conditions need clear communication, proper insurance handling, and reliable medical support. I hope this feedback helps improve patient care and administrative practices for other families.

Instead I felt dismissed and left feeling like I was crazy. He barely made eye contact with me, only with my husband. When I would state something, he'd confirm with my husband as if to confirm that I was telling the truth, making me feel unheard and a liar. I am the parent who is with our son 24/7 while my husband works and it would be me who would know our son's behavior best. Despite that, I could sense his doubt around what I said each time I answered. I would've appreciated some understanding and empathy considering the fact that I'm a first time mom who was simply concerned that her baby could possibly have something causing his behavior even if it meant proving me wrong. No parent wants to be right about their child having any issues neurologically but that is why they are there, to check our babies out not make us feel crazy for being concerned. I was concerned that my son was possibly having spasms or seizures, but took him to this office because I am obviously not educated in the field. When asked about my concerns he immediately asked how I even knew what spasms were with a condescending tone judging me for using google to know of its existence. Again, I am a parent not a doctor and for him to make me feel like I wasting his time based off what google suggested could be happening was rude and uncalled for. He even made a comment about our insurance being a PPO and the downside is examples like ours such as how people come straight there instead of getting confirmation from a pediatrician. I felt that was disrespectful. It wasn't until it was clear I was upset due to my shortness and frustration that he began asking more questions and even offered to run a test on my baby to see if it was seizures that was happening. He also asked us questions about what we do, our jobs, and other questions that don't pertain to our son and why we were there. The whole interaction felt like he was simply trying to do things to not end it the visit so fast after he dismissed everything within minutes of coming into the room. Everyone else in the office was friendly but I will not be returning and as a first time parent and patient there, I'm disappointed that this was the experience I had. I left frustrated and felt as if the NP was sexist due to how he treated my answers and presence. Still don't feel confident that my son is 100% okay because I didn't feel heard at all.
