Dough Bros. Pizza Joint has been open for a month or two, and we received a mailer with a menu and coupons. The shop appears to be a small franchise, but this is the only location in South Carolina.
On a sultry Saturday afternoon when we were hungry for pizza, we ordered a large one-topping with 10 wings only. For only $16.99 plus tax, it was a great deal. The online ordering experience was confusing, as I had to click a link in my email to confirm the order.
With no ETA, I called to verify that the order went through. The lady who answered let me know it'd be ready in 20 minutes. I picked up our meal, and the workers inside the store were hospitable enough.
My order was correct, but the pizza just didn't taste good. The crust was thick and tough, as if the pizza sat out for a bit. The roasted red peppers on top were a little burnt, and the pizza sauce is very sweet. My husband's hot and teriyaki wings balanced out the sweetness of the pizza sauce for him. I do realize that pizza's a subjective food and some like sweeter pizza sauce- but it wasn't for us.
If you're close to Ravenel, this is a quick (and cheaper) alternative to driving into Charleston for pizza. read more
