YUM! I've been wanting to try this place for a while. I heard a lot of good things about their food. So when I could not decide what to have for dinner, I remembered this place was on my bucket list. I placed a mobile order on their website and it was a straightforward process. I arrived at the promise time specified in my confirmation email. The pizza is a mix between classic wood fire pizza and Egyptian style pies. They offer classic toppings with some unique offerings. We had a classic cheese pizza (no veggies). It's important to note that all pizzas and pies come with veggies. We also had a chicken shawarma pie. We saw the pizza and pie being made right in front of us. The inside offers limited seating-two tables (4 seats each). In addition to the pizza/pie we ordered a smoothie and coffee. Both freshly made and delicious! Came through on a Sunday afternoon looking for something to hold us over until dinner time. Little did we know we would get lunch and enough portions for dinner as well! We got a regular egy dough pie plus a pastrami pie. The regular is about a 10 inch which is good for at least 2-4 people. The hospitality, food, and atmosphere is very welcoming. Even while waiting the staff provided the restaurant with samples of their lentil soup which was mega flavorful. The pistachio rice pudding is a delight! Very refreshing and light in sweetness, makes for a good summer treat. They offer a variety of sweet and savory oriental pies, fresh squeezed juices, hot cups of Turkish coffee, and some additional dishes. I was going to go three stars but the more I sipped on this lentil soup and ate on this lamb gyro. I convince myself to go four stars. I wanted to go three because the chicken pie was all let down. I thought I would be trying some original type breading or dough but it's just phylo dough. I was disappointed. The chicken inside was decent but kind of dry. But the seafood roll was amazing. Filled with fish shrimp and calamari. And very flavorful cheese. Not a big fan of these open ovens cuz they always seem to burn a portion of the food. But this wasn't too bad. The dude behind the counter knows what he's doing. Cuz he was beating that though until it was smaller than paper thing. I walked into a lot of onlookers waiting for their food. Seems like they were all eating in they weren't waiting for takeout. They have a juice bar in the back I had the milk with dates in them. Not too bad. A little too thick but I can see me getting it again. It had a lot of flavor. The lentil soup was very good. They were backed up but getting the food out fast so they're pretty quick. The whole shopping center was buzzing I always passed it by and never paid any attention but there's a certain spots I won't be back to see. We came in on a Saturday afternoon and the place was empty which was worrisome at first. But the worker there was very welcoming, polite, gave us samples when he didn't need to, and always had a smile on his face. It was refreshing to try food that is not only different but delicious. The food was delicious, we had a Shawarma Pie and dessert. Very good overall, absolutely no complaints about the food. Everyone working there was very polite but very slow. The server took our order and it was a very long wait (food was made fresh in front of us, so understandable), they were slow to refill drinks, and we really didn't see much of the gentleman who took our order. There was some noisy work being done in the back and a little too much standing around talking- we were the only 2 people there and there were a few to go orders. Overall: I would recommend this restaurant but for order ahead and carry out only. The food is worth waiting for, but maybe find something else to do until it's ready to pick up. read more

I walked in on a very busy Friday night to wonderful smells of deliciousness. They were so welcoming and gracious but I decided not to wait, ordering just rice pudding which is amazing- simple and so delicious and I'm not a rice pudding fan. Because of wait - the owner also included a baklava - one of the best I've ever had! I went back the following day and little early for dinner so I didn't get caught in busy time again. After what I saw the day before- it was a definite must return. While waiting for mine - so many people came in for pickup orders, many obviously were happy returning customers with good things to say each time. The owner carefully makes each order with the flakey phyllo style dough. Watching the process before and during cooking was so fun. I got the Egy pie based on recommendations. So good! I love pizza but not always heavy crust so this was an amazing twist. Just enough ingredients- not too much to take away from the pastry. Heard about this new place on social media, and decided to give it a try. We were immediately greeted and welcomed. The gentleman thoroughly explained the menu to us. We ordered three pies: a chicken shawarma, a pastrami, and a lotus & pistachio. We got to watch the whole pie making process. It was fascinating! Everything was quick and fast. We devoured these steaming pies in the car like a couple of cavemen. The dough was thin, layered, crunchy, and chewy. The savory pies with garlic sauce were delicious and satisfying. The sweet pie was light with just the right amount of sweetness. The star is definitely the dough. That in itself is perfect with any filling or topping. Glad this place is opened. What an amazing gem hidden in a non-descript strip mall. My wife and I were visiting Charleston this past weekend and were looking for pizza. Well, Egy Dough showed up in our list. Not knowing what Egyptian pizza was, we took a chance and tried Egy Dough. The food was AMAZING! We tried the mince meat pie. It was flavorful but not too spicey. You get a lot of food for a regular size pie. They pie maker makes the pies out in the open for all to see. The "show" is also part of the experience. Seeing the chef stretch the dough until it is almost see through is amazing. The staff were also very friendly and so were the other diners. Everyone seemed to just feel at home and chatted with those around them. There are tons of other options to try. We can't wait to go back, the next time we are visiting Charleston. I was feeling pizza and accidentally stumbled on this great spot. Their "Egy Oriental Pie" is something very unique and really delicious. Ordered a mushroom pie and added the chicken shawarma - and all the pies have tomato, green pepper and olives by default - so the combination was great! The dough is very thin, flaky, and layered, almost like phyllo - more similar to a quesadilla than a pizza, and the cheese tasted a lot like a typical mozzarella/pizza cheese. No tomato sauce, but be sure to try the "toum" garlic white sauce for dipping. After watching the pie-man make pie after pie, I was enticed to try one of the dessert pies. The Four Seasons was like a sampler. It had four different sections, one with Nutella, one with something they called Lotus (kind of had a flavor combo of a tea-biscuit and peanut butter), one with honey, and one with milk-cream. It was topped with some banana and strawberry slices. A decadent treat! This place is worth a try - if they are busy, just be ready to wait a bit for your food, or consider ordering ahead to save time. (It was nonetheless worth the wait!) read more

This small, strip mall located restaurant, turned out to have some of the BEST Middle Eastern/Mediterranean/Egyptian food that I have ever tasted! You can watch the staff actually rolling out and preparing the dishes; the sea food Oriental pie, featuring: shrimp, tuna, calamari, fresh veggies, and both mozzarella and Roman cheese, was perfect! A light, flaky crust with totally-fresh ingredients! The Alexandria dessert pie, featuring: coconut, raisins, sugar, honey, milk, and fresh cream, was equally amazing! You could taste that the fresh juice WAS actually just made - we had the strawberry - banana with milk, and my Turkish coffee was the real deal: aromatic and robust. Our waiter was courteous and efficient, and even with lots of customers coming and going, the noise levels were low, the Middle Eastern music was melodic and relaxing, and the tables were continually being wiped down and kept clean. We decided last minute to take a 4 hour trip to Charleston. Along the way I read tons of reviews and tried to decide where we would eat first. I came strictly for seafood but this place caught my eye. We ended up at Egy Pie and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!! I called our order in and asked that the pizza be ready when we arrived in town. It was ready and.... I ordered the wrong thing, SMH!! The staff was SO nice about it and they fixed me the pie I meant to order when I showed them the picture. While waiting, due to my own error, we were offered rice pudding. It was TO DIE FOR!!! When you order it get the pistachio and honey on top!! When we finally made it to our hotel room, we devoured the pie! I ordered the mixed Shawarma and it was amazing! I took a few pics because--did you see that oven!!!--and also, the process is fascinating. The skill level is very apparent. We waited to get home before digging in....The pie dough is so thin, light, and crispy! The filling rich, moist, flavorful, and delicious but the whipped garlic dipping sauce is the star! It just takes it all over the top. So, we got one beef and one chicken shawarma and both are on point. The folks there were super friendly and very helpful! I tried the rice pudding (I have NEVER had rice pudding that I like) and I LOVED the rice pudding. I have no words... Would totally have a Turkish cafe and rice pudding for breakfast.
