Granted the staff is very very friendly and helpful and the pool and hot tub is awesome buttt we have went downstairs back and forth for 5-6 days in a row bc our cards stop working . And apparently nobody knows why it's happening . We work night shift so getting in later and your card not working is awful . I've never had that happen at any other hotel and we stay at them every week for a job . The tv in our room barely works with the remote . You have to point it at the back of the tv and hope your hitting directly on the spot to change the Channel. Rooms are clean and spacious so I would say my real complaint is the price and the keys not working . read more

Growing up, my family went on a bunch of roadtrips, but we'd usually crash at a motel for a few hours and then be back on the road or exploring. This has instilled with me the easygoing preference that all I need is a clean bed/bathroom and I'm good. Anything above that, I will probably be amazed. We stayed here the week for my brothers wedding. They weren't having the wedding here, but we're still able to block out rooms. We got a room with 2 Queen beds and the bathroom was also a great size. If you do choose the breakfast, it's $11 per person, which seemed a little high, but, the food was good and it's all you can eat. Having the bar in the lobby is also a nice touch. The staff was friendly and accommodating, even with a couple little hiccups they had with us. The biggest was probably when my sister was taking a shower and the water just turned off out of nowhere. It took about 30-40 minutes for it to return after we called the front desk a few times. Another little thing was checking out, they had booked our room under a wrong card, like, completely different card that probably belonged to someone else. The front desk girl was able to fix it. It didn't take too long. My favorite part is the cookies! A warm chocolate chip cookie whenever I wanted. It was perfect. Their pool is a bit small and I'm not sure why they didn't make it a little bigger, since behind it is just the parking lot. If not for pool space but for space around the pool. It also took us forever to figure out how to turn the jacuzzi on. Hint: It's a button that says Emergency Shut-Off or something like that. read more

This Double Tree is barely a 3 star. Its not renovated and the front desk is rude. There is one girl at breakfast who is the best (glasses, young), but everyone else at the restaurant can suck it. One morning, the guy brought me my food and my check but never my coffee or utesils. I thought I was being punked. The room is a good size, but its outdated. If they just changed the sheets and curtains it would be better. The gym is tiny. One treadmill. It was 87 degrees and I asked the front desk to have someone turn the heat off and they said we will and did nothing. I had to ask again. Bad service. There is a salon/spa on site, but it is only open when you are at work 9-5 or 10-6. The SanTan Mall is an outside mall 1/2 a mile away. There are restaurants and shopping. I really liked that, but I would rather stay somewhere else and drive to it. I got room service - pulled pork sliders. They were REALLY fatty. Boo-urns. read more

This hotel doesn't deserve to be a Hilton branded name location. It's old, even though claimed to be remodeling. Under staffed, lousy food, horrible parking, stinky hallways and just plain old discombobulated. We stayed there one night and after checking out and paying with both points and money the clerk placed us as a no show or cancelled and never gave us credit to out membership for the stay. When you call them they just put you on hold and sometimes they never answer. Definitely would not recommend and we won't stay there again. We are diamond Hilton honor} January 2020 I actually wrote and called Hilton about this hotel. Oddly NO FOLLOW-UP. This situation required a personal phone call. There was none First booked two bed room. Sent to one bed room. Not a big deal, changed to a two bed room. At 9 pm, we were in bed, a man and woman walked into our room. (Yes, we should have used deadbolt). How shocking! Then the desk called to ask our names. Really, never in over 50 years of travel has anyone entered our hotel room. Let's start off by saying how disappointed I was. I reserved and paid in advance for a single King room. When I got there, I was asked to take a double queen. Not really a big deal. Stayed here on Saturday night Jan. 7th 2023 because it is close to the Mesa Airport. The check in process was easy and the staff were very friendly. The lobby seemed adequate. These are the good things. The room was very outdated and the furniture was beat up. The heat/air-conditioner was old and noisy. The very worst part was the fact that there was no hot water!!! Had to take a cold shower in the morning. This is completely unacceptable. I will not stay here again. read more

To summarize : I strongly recommend anyone who doesn't want their information stolen to not stay here. I strongly recommend if you value your time and private information you won't want to stay here. One star, do not recommend. The front desk hostess - Rachel - was incredibly disrespectful towards myself and my family, and I know it was because we were Hispanic. When getting a pool towel she demanded phone, address, name, and our room number, but other white guests weren't demanded that same information. With covid standards you just assume maybe they started something new. I stayed here over the Labor Day weekend with a impromptu family reunion, and luckily you have other staff that aren't as disrespectful. You have good taste Rachel, too bad you haven't learned accountability and respect. You might in jail... . Or not. I already got my money back, and then when my credit card company is done with their investigation you'll likely have to deal with that. Wondering how many other people have you done this to? Awful experience! I've never had any issues with a Hilton brand hotel, but this place was really terrible. We paid for a King Junior Suite. First when we got there the tub was way too dirty to give my 6 month old a bath in, it had mold in it and other gross looking stains. I asked the front desk for extra pillows for my daughter to sleep on the pullout couch in our suite and it took them over an hour to bring them. Then when we went to set the couch up into a bed I realized it was missing most of the springs and was broken. They then took over 30 minutes just to get us another room. When we got to the new room it smelled like cats peed all over in it, the smell was putrid. I tried to suck it up but when my daughter opened the pullout couch there was some kind of rodent feces!!!! I walk in and tell the young lady Lacey the horrible experience that just happened next door and she didn't really seem to care about how bad the experience was at her sister hotel . The only reason I told her this is because now it's 1:30 AM and I'm still not in a room . So she gets us a room mind ya since 11:30 PM on 12/21 I finally get a room at 1:30 AM !!!!!!! I go to the room I'm excited because I get to take a hott bath ( I have chemo at 3PM and hott water helps my muscle spasm) I turn the water on I give it time 10 mins NO HOTT WATER !!!! My fiancé calls Lacey tells her the situation and she said I was told that they were working on the boilers and they were fixed .... THAT is not correct because I have no HOTT water to take a bath . So she calls me and says I found a room that has luke warm water . I told her that isn't gonna help me . The only reason why I'm here is because our house hott water heater isn't working and I needed a hott shower-bath. But I didn't get that . She tells me I'll refund you and you can go somewhere else ??? Excuse Me I been since 11:30 PM dealing with TRU - and now dealing with Doubletree it's now 2:30 AM . She said she can't help me and I said really ? She hung up on me ............... I'm furious with HILTON . DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! It is filthy and disgusting! Blood on towels and shower curtain! Hair in the bed and floor, mold in shower, rug and floors had hair and crumbs all over them! We left hotel manager agreed to refund the money and 10 days later no refund. We moved to the Hilton Canopy in Scottsdale and it was amazing! I stayed here for three weeks for work. It's clean. The furniture and carpet looks outdated, but it's not old. Who picked the furniture, LOL!! It's well cared for. Staff is nice and receptive to your needs. My third week, I had to leave early due to an emergency, and they didn't charge me a late check out fee (I checked out at 11:30am) but called at 10:45 to let them know. I stayed in the same room on the fourth floor the first two weeks and the second floor the third-I didn't get pictures of the second room because I had to leave suddenly. The restaurant staff is great, the food was great, but they charge you for the buffet breakfast if you are a diamond member. I didn't use the pool, but it looked nice. I did see ants in my room the third week and maintenance addressed it in a timely manner. I would definitely stay here again if I'm in the area. Can't beat the service. read more

You would think with 2.5 stars being their average score something would be done to correct it. I'll preface this review by saying it's not a bad place to stay but for the money? This being a Doubletree? Expected more. Walking in to my room first thing I noticed was it smelled like someone recently took a deuce in the toilet. Not a good start. The pillows? Horrible . Down pillows that they have are some of the worst. 4 make 1 regular pillow. Nicest thing about this hotel is the gym, pool and bar. The female bartender working the weekend of my stay at night (1/29-1/31) was really good and nice. The rooms, mine anyway (201) was basic and a lil run down. That and the staff could not control the kids running through the halls and stairwells all night. Along with some of their parents partying and being really loud and again, nothing being done. Should've stayed elsewhere for the money. Close to 300$ for 2 nights. Front desk staff during check in were nice. That's about it. read more

ANTS! Room was swarming with ants including under the sheets. They were everywhere! Staff advised ants are a weekly issue. Blood on was cloths from cleaning crew. Light bulbs out and asked staff to fix bulbs so we could have Light and we were blown off. Staff just didn't care. If you stay on 1st or second floor don't check in because if they have an event the people will be yelling in the lobby all night. The wedding people's guest were yelling in the lobby from 10 pm to 1230 am and the front counter staff will do nothing to get them to stop. So you won't get any rest. We were at the Doubletree with family & friends for my nephew's wedding. The staff was extraordinary in helping us make everything we did leading up to the wedding successful. They engaged us every step of the way to make sure we were happy and had what we needed...including a trip on the shuttle to Walmart for a tube of glue...extra shuttle service after normal hours...breakfast after a successful cocktail party before the event. I spend a week and a half staying here during a work trip and will not come back again. My coworker and I never had a key card work properly, we constantly had to go back to the front desk to get new cards or have the fitness center/pool opened for us (if someone was at the desk but it was a lot of waiting around). There is no complimentary coffee, they wanted to charge me for a small cup of jug coffee behind the bar. Also only 2 of the open outlets in my room worked and there are no USB ports so you have to unplug things behind the bedside tables to have an outlet beside your bed. Although the location is central to do a lot and the pool is lovely, it isn't enough to put up with the rest. read more

My whole family was on that like we hadn't eaten in days. What does that have to do with the hotel? Nothing, really. I just wanted to point that out. Back to my review: We thought this was a decent hotel for a week's stay during Christmas. A couple of pluses for us: - Small in-room fridge with enough room for drinks and small boxes of leftovers, microwave (for said leftovers), and coffeepot with tea and coffee (duh), - Double bed rooms had a big enough layout that we weren't on top of one another or tripping over luggage. - Bathrooms: functional with big counter space. - They don't have a gift shop, but there is a vending machine in a small nook area by the front desk. They also sell some snacks and toiletries. (FYI - the nearest CVS or Walgreens is a drive so in case you forgot something, this will do.) - We didn't take advantage but the hotel offers a shuttle service to the San Tan mall nearby. I believe it's free, but something to ask and look into if you want/need to go shopping. - Staff was friendly, even having to work on the holiday. If you really want to know the negatives, well... - There weren't enough lights in the rooms! I mean, I know we're there to sleep and bathe, blah blah blah...but I have a mother whose eyesight isn't that great when a room is dimly lit at night (or in the dark generally). All the lights seem to be in one half of the room (by the front door and desk) and not by the other end of the room. - Rooms are not sound proof. Yeah, what hotel is, but we could feel the footsteps from the room above and noticed the tv was shaking at times. It was like the circus was in town and the acts were practicing upstairs. I checked. There was no circus that week. Noted for next time - get a room on the top floor. We enjoyed our stay and will be back in a few months to for my brother's wedding. Though he and my SIL aren't having their reception here, they did block rooms for their out-of-town wedding guests. From what I hear, the hotel is pretty accommodating when it comes to all that wedding stuff. read more

This hotel is by all standards just okay. The room was acceptable, the common spaces were pretty normal, the staff was friendly. There is nothing that pops out as a wow. The one thing that sets it apart from a normal doubletree level hotel is the architecture. It has a pretty cool mid-century look. The building looks pretty cool against the desert sunset. I think if you could do some minor unit upgrades this place would be a lot better and more attractive to stay in. Even all the common spaces has pretty good potential. Another thing to mention is the breakfast was pretty solid. They take it a couple notches above what you would normally see at a hotel this level. I was able to even make my own waffle. First, the room is clean and hotel front desk is awesome. However... Overwhelmingly disappointed in our experience here! Last night (Friday, 4/30), we were in for a weekend wedding. We spent from 9pm until after midnight in the bar with the amazing bartender, Lisa. The manager was cool, and the manager made great food, but we knew he was the cook and manager as he had been there for breakfast. I spoke with him about how our wedding party were big spenders at the bar, and told him we would be back Saturday by 10pm after the wedding to hang. He assured us the bar would be open until minimum 11pm. Tonight, we left the wedding at 9:30 to get back to the bar by 9:45. He had already closed the bar, despite our conversation about a 10pm arrival and his message that the bar is open until 11pm. We, of course, made due and saved money, but his weekend bartender and bar missed out on significant money by closing early. At the end of the day, it is fine and won't affect us, but Lisa, the bartender, couldn't say anything and she only works two nights a week. She lost out on $2-300 dollars because of them closing early. That's awful. Moral of the story: 1. Don't say you are open until 11pm if you aren't. 2. Don't have a manager opening at 7am and expect him to close the nights on weekends. It is bad business for the customer and other employees. Thankfully, the rooms are clean, and the food from the kitchen (when and of it is actually available) is good. Sad the trip ended on thi note. read more

**THERE WAS A MAN HIDING IN OUR HONEYMOON SUITE ON OUR WEDDING NIGHT**. I had a room block at this hotel. Almost everyone attending our wedding was from out of town. The sales rep who helped me set this up offered us the honeymoon suite. She confirmed that this suite could only be booked by her and confirmed no one at the front desk could book this room. The room looked beautiful and we wanted to treat ourselves. On the wedding day one of my bridesmaids checked us in so after a full day we were dropped off at this hotel and could walk straight to the room to relax. We walked to our room, scanned the key, and opened the door. To our surprise the lock was across the door and the room was dark. Through the slight door opening I called in 'hello' 'is someone in here?' no reply. Thinking we were assigned to the wrong room, we went downstairs. The people at the desk confirmed 'no, that is the correct room number and you were the only one checked into that room.' The front desk also confirmed that they didn't have the ability to reserve that room and its the only honeymoon suite. One of the workers went up with us with a pen and a long lighter. I scanned the card and she saw the lock just as I had described. She tried to jimmy the lock door could open, but wasn't successful. So she said the lock needed to be broken. Using the long lighter and some force the lock broke and fell to the floor. Thinking the worst was over, I scanned our key to open the door, but then someone was pushing back on the door. The worker insisted that it was the lock that fallen to the floor that was blocking the door from opening. Imagine this there were three of us - the worker, me, and my husband pushing on the door and it wouldn't budge. Again, I asked ' is someone in this room or is there another way into this room' she replied 'no. no one is in the room'. She then announces 'I am going to the master key.' and she leaves. THEN A MAN OPENED THE DOOR AND WALKED OUT. He was yelling at my husband and I saying "Yo! You are freaking out my girl! She said this room wasn't going to be occupied tonight." I replied to him "lets all go downstairs together and figure this out" and he continues yelling as he walked in other direction down to the stairs. As soon as he got to the stairs the girl came back. We told her. She brushed off the news and opened the door. Believe me when I tell you, the room looked untouched! It didn't look like the bed was used or any towels were used or anything. I felt sick to my stomach and starting thinking of the worst like 'what if my husband was going to get ice and I was alone in the room when I found out he was in there.' The girl didn't seemed phased by it and offered to change the sheets, but I told her that I was pretty shaken by the fact that a man had walked out of a room that we just broke the lock to and she didn't seemed phased she even mentioned that it was a crappy way for her to start her 16 hour shift. Just like that my new husband and I were left with no place to stay on our wedding night. There were people at our house, my parents, his parents, etc. Throughout the next week, there were other things that came to light as my family from out of town stayed there. For example- the side doors didn't lock and you didn't need a room key to open those side doors at night. There were definitely security issues that needed to be addressed. The experience on the wedding night alone is a crazy story and I felt uneasy that my whole family was staying at a hotel were stuff like this was going down so I wanted to talk to management and get this addressed. Hear me when I say that I spent the next TWO weeks trying to follow up and talk to a manager and I NEVER GOT A CALL BACK. I originally called the next day and left two message with the manager, Angela, and briefly explained everything and requested for the tape to be pulled and confirmed that I wanted to talk with her via a call back. Also on that voice message, I confirmed that we would be out of the country on our honeymoon for a week and that I would appreciate a call when I was back. When we got back from our honeymoon, I didn't have a voicemail so I called the following Monday. I called and was transferred to her office 4 different times. I left two messages- no call back. Sure, managers can be busy so I gave it a few days- Still no call. I answered every unknown caller hoping to have a conversation, but i was met with silence. I called corp. I spoke with a manger who said that he would document the complaint and they had 72 hours to get an action plan together to address this. I confirmed that I wanted a phone call. He agreed and got my info. For the next week I answered every unknown call and nothing. At this point, I am convinced that it was a boyfriend of one of the employees who was in the room because I have gone to great lengths to talk to them- and NO ONE HAS CALLED ME BACK! Not fit to be a Doubletree. This hotel is substandard in every way and should not be allowed to be designated as a Hilton. The hotel is dirty and rundown. We left after the first night. read more

Save your money!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!! We stayed here overnight for one evening. When we arrived after 4pm we were told housekeeping was not finished cleaning rooms and we could wait. Then they sent us to a "Jr. Suite" first their was absolutely NOTHING sweet about the room. The exact same as a king only a longer room with plenty of cold wood floor. No additional furnishings or toiletries, or view. NOTHING it was next to the elevator and ice maker. We immediately went back down and said we wanted a king room like we had reserved. We were told housekeeping was not done cleaning and we could wait for another room she would not indicate how long the wait would be. Approximately 50 minutes after that we were given a new room. It was awful- Let me warn you the photos online are NOT of the actual rooms they have. The place is a dump. The room was terrible. The rate was $169!!!! FALSE ADVERTISING NOTHING LOOKED LIKE IT DID ONLINE. We booked the room based on the website photos and they are NOT accurate. I recorded on my phone housekeeping vacuuming the room next to ours at 6:30. I'm sad that people will come in from out of town and think they are coming to a property like they viewed online only to come to this dump. I also believe based on other reviews here and on Google that they are removing negative reviews from their website. BE WARNED read more
