The staff here is absolutely amazing! My brother got stung by a bee at the pool and the staff came right away with ice to help! Thomas at the bar always remembered our drinks and was offering us ice water when we walked by. We will definitely be back! Everyone remembers us when we come through the lobby and have smiles and cookies! read more

Growing up, my family went on a bunch of roadtrips, but we'd usually crash at a motel for a few hours and then be back on the road or exploring. This has instilled with me the easygoing preference that all I need is a clean bed/bathroom and I'm good. Anything above that, I will probably be amazed. We stayed here the week for my brothers wedding. They weren't having the wedding here, but we're still able to block out rooms. We got a room with 2 Queen beds and the bathroom was also a great size. If you do choose the breakfast, it's $11 per person, which seemed a little high, but, the food was good and it's all you can eat. Having the bar in the lobby is also a nice touch. The staff was friendly and accommodating, even with a couple little hiccups they had with us. The biggest was probably when my sister was taking a shower and the water just turned off out of nowhere. It took about 30-40 minutes for it to return after we called the front desk a few times. Another little thing was checking out, they had booked our room under a wrong card, like, completely different card that probably belonged to someone else. The front desk girl was able to fix it. It didn't take too long. My favorite part is the cookies! A warm chocolate chip cookie whenever I wanted. It was perfect. Their pool is a bit small and I'm not sure why they didn't make it a little bigger, since behind it is just the parking lot. If not for pool space but for space around the pool. It also took us forever to figure out how to turn the jacuzzi on. Hint: It's a button that says Emergency Shut-Off or something like that. read more

This Double Tree is barely a 3 star. Its not renovated and the front desk is rude. There is one girl at breakfast who is the best (glasses, young), but everyone else at the restaurant can suck it. One morning, the guy brought me my food and my check but never my coffee or utesils. I thought I was being punked. The room is a good size, but its outdated. If they just changed the sheets and curtains it would be better. The gym is tiny. One treadmill. It was 87 degrees and I asked the front desk to have someone turn the heat off and they said we will and did nothing. I had to ask again. Bad service. There is a salon/spa on site, but it is only open when you are at work 9-5 or 10-6. The SanTan Mall is an outside mall 1/2 a mile away. There are restaurants and shopping. I really liked that, but I would rather stay somewhere else and drive to it. I got room service - pulled pork sliders. They were REALLY fatty. Boo-urns. read more

Clean. Easy to check in and check out. Modern almost too clean furnishings. I'd rather have clean than dirty. Would book here again.

This hotel doesn't deserve to be a Hilton branded name location. It's old, even though claimed to be remodeling. Under staffed, lousy food, horrible parking, stinky hallways and just plain old discombobulated. We stayed there one night and after checking out and paying with both points and money the clerk placed us as a no show or cancelled and never gave us credit to out membership for the stay. When you call them they just put you on hold and sometimes they never answer. Definitely would not recommend and we won't stay there again. As if this review we still have not gotten credit for the stay and they have said they will fix it. This property just simply sucks! read more

*Everything you need to know about this place ! This place is very expensive for what we have endured for 2 weeks of being here . Granted the staff is very very friendly and helpful and the pool and hot tub is awesome buttt we have went downstairs back and forth for 5-6 days in a row bc our cards stop working . And apparently nobody knows why it's happening . We work night shift so getting in later and your card not working is awful . I've never had that happen at any other hotel and we stay at them every week for a job . The tv in our room barely works with the remote . You have to point it at the back of the tv and hope your hitting directly on the spot to change the Channel. Rooms are clean and spacious so I would say my real complaint is the price and the keys not working . read more

We are diamond Hilton honor} January 2020 I actually wrote and called Hilton about this hotel. Oddly NO FOLLOW-UP. This situation required a personal phone call. There was none First booked two bed room. Sent to one bed room. Not a big deal, changed to a two bed room. At 9 pm, we were in bed, a man and woman walked into our room. (Yes, we should have used deadbolt). How shocking! Then the desk called to ask our names. Really, never in over 50 years of travel has anyone entered our hotel room. Third, keep in mind we are diamond, the "up charge" for breakfast. I wouldn't stay at this if Hilton paid for it. A scary situation What really is sad, the hotel or Hilton doesn't care this situation happened. An apology would have been nice read more

Stayed here on business trip, room was nice with wood flooring and southwestern decor. Front staff was nice, as a Hilton reward member I got free waters and snacks. Stayed here last night and all I can say is that we set alarms for 5am to get out of this hotel as quickly as possible. There isn't even a phone in the room to call the front desk. None of the lights worked, the shower was gross, and the furniture is beyond bizarre. read more

I am a pilot and our schedule changes constantly. I had a billing mix up and the Manager, David was very helpful in getting things straightened out. Let's start off by saying how disappointed I was. I reserved and paid in advance for a single King room. When I got there, I was asked to take a double queen. Not really a big deal. But I expected it to be clean. I think some emphasis should be placed on cleaning headboards and surface areas that may not look dirty until you see it from an angel. Whoa. The dirt and handprints! Nasty. The bathroom was the worse. See the pictures. They explain it all! read more

I stay at many Hilton locations around the nation for work. This location by far has the worst designed rooms I've ever stayed in. The furniture looks like they came out of a thrift store. Th bed is adequate but to say the least inferior to others, I'll never stay here again. For a Double tree, I'm totally disappointed. read more

the rooms were truly a disgrace. the hygiene and conditions of the rooms were appalling. would never recommend.

To summarize : I strongly recommend anyone who doesn't want their information stolen to not stay here. I strongly recommend if you value your time and private information you won't want to stay here. One star, do not recommend. The front desk hostess - Rachel - was incredibly disrespectful towards myself and my family, and I know it was because we were Hispanic. When getting a pool towel she demanded phone, address, name, and our room number, but other white guests weren't demanded that same information. I don't appreciate someone I don't know logging my information into their phone, i trusted you because I thought that was the process, but quickly realized it wasn't once a white person came up to the counter and was given a pool towel with no list of questioning. With covid standards you just assume maybe they started something new. I realized this was a load of crap after another white guest walked up and got their towel with no game of 20 questions - which she logged into her cell phone saying it was company procedure. I stayed here over the Labor Day weekend with a impromptu family reunion, and luckily you have other staff that aren't as disrespectful. Even one gentlemen at the desk who said she's done this before, and yet keeps her job... I expected much better from a Hilton brand hotel. Not ghetto hood rat antics. Ms Rachel, you may be white, but you are a ghetto hood rat. Yes, you may have not come from money - neither did I - but I don't walk around thinking everyone owes me something. You will always be working jobs like this as long as your attitude stays the same. I hope there is a actual human being, one who's honest and kind. And if they're there, now is the time to show it. Otherwise youre going to make this worse for yourself. I'm absolved, I didn't do anything wrong, I got my money back, and you dear get to have a review that may follow your reputation - and not without warrant. I also find it funny I was charged for a toothbrush and toothpaste - when other guests weren't charged anything. When purchasing she informed me the front card reader wasn't working and she'd have to take my card into the back. Which was quick but should have just gone somewhere else, again, trusted you. She then gave the card back to me hastily and said I might not see the charge for a while and they were out of receipt paper. Okay.... On Monday I was contacted by eBay that several suspicious purchases were made with my card, I had them routed to my home address rather than the HOTEL. Tell me, why after a month would I suddenly buy a bunch of things on eBay, change my address to a hotel I stayed at once, and didn't enjoy? Well, I might keep the sunglasses. You have good taste Rachel, too bad you haven't learned accountability and respect. You might in jail... . Or not. I already got my money back, and then when my credit card company is done with their investigation you'll likely have to deal with that. Wondering how many other people have you done this to? And how many notices? A lot of us TRUST people like yourselves to have ethics and a standard since you're handling credit card information. And more importantly, what about the management here that clearly doesn't care what their employees do? Hilton customer service states since I wasn't on the original reservation that I can't file a complaint. Well, I can on Yelp. And at least I can also warn other hard working people to steer clear of the lack of management. I attempted to contact the manager "Angela" several times, once getting her on the phone to have her laugh, and then hang up on me one evening. I believe you stole my information and whenever my credit card company finishes their investigation they'll be contacting local authorities. I have already filed a police report, and the rest will just be a process. read more

This is the worst place I have ever stayed. Dirty rooms, (yellow pee and hair on the bathroom floor, dirty sinks and showers) Rude and condescending front desk person during the day, no call back from hotel manager. Awful experience! I've never had any issues with a Hilton brand hotel, but this place was really terrible. We paid for a King Junior Suite. First when we got there the tub was way too dirty to give my 6 month old a bath in, it had mold in it and other gross looking stains. I asked the front desk for extra pillows for my daughter to sleep on the pullout couch in our suite and it took them over an hour to bring them. Then when we went to set the couch up into a bed I realized it was missing most of the springs and was broken. They then took over 30 minutes just to get us another room. When we got to the new room it smelled like cats peed all over in it, the smell was putrid. I tried to suck it up but when my daughter opened the pullout couch there was some kind of rodent feces!!!! Disgusting!!! We left and went to the Courtyard Marriott down the road it was a thousand times better. read more

Stayed here on Saturday night Jan. 7th 2023 because it is close to the Mesa Airport. The check in process was easy and the staff were very friendly. The lobby seemed adequate. These are the good things. The room was very outdated and the furniture was beat up. The heat/air-conditioner was old and noisy. The very worst part was the fact that there was no hot water!!! Had to take a cold shower in the morning. This is completely unacceptable. I will not stay here again. read more

I stayed here for three weeks for work. It's clean. The furniture and carpet looks outdated, but it's not old. Who picked the furniture, LOL!! It's well cared for. Staff is nice and receptive to your needs. My third week, I had to leave early due to an emergency, and they didn't charge me a late check out fee (I checked out at 11:30am) but called at 10:45 to let them know. I stayed in the same room on the fourth floor the first two weeks and the second floor the third-I didn't get pictures of the second room because I had to leave suddenly. The restaurant staff is great, the food was great, but they charge you for the buffet breakfast if you are a diamond member. I didn't use the pool, but it looked nice. I did see ants in my room the third week and maintenance addressed it in a timely manner. I would definitely stay here again if I'm in the area. Can't beat the service. read more

So after TRU HILTON didn't find our reservation hotels.com sends us to Doubletree . I walk in and tell the young lady Lacey the horrible experience that just happened next door and she didn't really seem to care about how bad the experience was at her sister hotel . The only reason I told her this is because now it's 1:30 AM and I'm still not in a room . So she gets us a room mind ya since 11:30 PM on 12/21 I finally get a room at 1:30 AM !!!!!!! I go to the room I'm excited because I get to take a hott bath ( I have chemo at 3PM and hott water helps my muscle spasm) I turn the water on I give it time 10 mins NO HOTT WATER !!!! My fiancé calls Lacey tells her the situation and she said I was told that they were working on the boilers and they were fixed .... THAT is not correct because I have no HOTT water to take a bath . So she calls me and says I found a room that has luke warm water . I told her that isn't gonna help me . The only reason why I'm here is because our house hott water heater isn't working and I needed a hott shower-bath. But I didn't get that . She tells me I'll refund you and you can go somewhere else ??? Excuse Me I been since 11:30 PM dealing with TRU - and now dealing with Doubletree it's now 2:30 AM . She said she can't help me and I said really ? She hung up on me ............... I'm furious with HILTON . I'll be reaching out to corporate and I hope A regional manager will reach out to me in regards of this nightmare and headache it has caused us yesterday and today . Horrible- horrible - horrible !!!! What is going on ? I'm reading reviews and it seems like the no hott water been going on for weeks ???? Shouldn't y'all let the guest KNOW about issues y'all have ??? Why is there a frame of a cow in the room ? What's is Doubletree doing ??? I've stayed at doubletree in Dallas and San Diego they don't have cow picture frames and outdated TV in there rooms . Worse day I experienced in the hospitality of HILTON!!!!!! read more

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! It is filthy and disgusting! Blood on towels and shower curtain! Hair in the bed and floor, mold in shower, rug and floors had hair and crumbs all over them! If anything, go for the signature Doubletree chocolate chip and walnut cookie given at check-in. I kid, I kid. No seriously, the cookies are addicting. My whole family was on that like we hadn't eaten in days. What does that have to do with the hotel? Nothing, really. I just wanted to point that out. Back to my review: We thought this was a decent hotel for a week's stay during Christmas. A couple of pluses for us: - Small in-room fridge with enough room for drinks and small boxes of leftovers, microwave (for said leftovers), and coffeepot with tea and coffee (duh), - Double bed rooms had a big enough layout that we weren't on top of one another or tripping over luggage. - Bathrooms: functional with big counter space. - They don't have a gift shop, but there is a vending machine in a small nook area by the front desk. They also sell some snacks and toiletries. (FYI - the nearest CVS or Walgreens is a drive so in case you forgot something, this will do.) - We didn't take advantage but the hotel offers a shuttle service to the San Tan mall nearby. I believe it's free, but something to ask and look into if you want/need to go shopping. - Staff was friendly, even having to work on the holiday. If you really want to know the negatives, well... - There weren't enough lights in the rooms! I mean, I know we're there to sleep and bathe, blah blah blah...but I have a mother whose eyesight isn't that great when a room is dimly lit at night (or in the dark generally). All the lights seem to be in one half of the room (by the front door and desk) and not by the other end of the room. - Rooms are not sound proof. Yeah, what hotel is, but we could feel the footsteps from the room above and noticed the tv was shaking at times. It was like the circus was in town and the acts were practicing upstairs. I checked. There was no circus that week. Noted for next time - get a room on the top floor. We enjoyed our stay and will be back in a few months to for my brother's wedding. Though he and my SIL aren't having their reception here, they did block rooms for their out-of-town wedding guests. From what I hear, the hotel is pretty accommodating when it comes to all that wedding stuff. read more

You would think with 2.5 stars being their average score something would be done to correct it. I'll preface this review by saying it's not a bad place to stay but for the money? This being a Doubletree? Expected more. Walking in to my room first thing I noticed was it smelled like someone recently took a deuce in the toilet. Not a good start. The pillows? Horrible . Down pillows that they have are some of the worst. 4 make 1 regular pillow. Nicest thing about this hotel is the gym, pool and bar. The female bartender working the weekend of my stay at night (1/29-1/31) was really good and nice. The rooms, mine anyway (201) was basic and a lil run down. That and the staff could not control the kids running through the halls and stairwells all night. Along with some of their parents partying and being really loud and again, nothing being done. Should've stayed elsewhere for the money. Close to 300$ for 2 nights. Front desk staff during check in were nice. That's about it. read more

ANTS! Room was swarming with ants including under the sheets. They were everywhere! Staff advised ants are a weekly issue. Blood on was cloths from cleaning crew. Light bulbs out and asked staff to fix bulbs so we could have Light and we were blown off. Staff just didn't care. If you stay on 1st or second floor don't check in because if they have an event the people will be yelling in the lobby all night. The wedding people's guest were yelling in the lobby from 10 pm to 1230 am and the front counter staff will do nothing to get them to stop. So you won't get any rest. I spend a week and a half staying here during a work trip and will not come back again. My coworker and I never had a key card work properly, we constantly had to go back to the front desk to get new cards or have the fitness center/pool opened for us (if someone was at the desk but it was a lot of waiting around). There is no complimentary coffee, they wanted to charge me for a small cup of jug coffee behind the bar. Also only 2 of the open outlets in my room worked and there are no USB ports so you have to unplug things behind the bedside tables to have an outlet beside your bed. Although the location is central to do a lot and the pool is lovely, it isn't enough to put up with the rest. read more

Very disappointing! Rooms are nice but no happy hour on the weekends. No refreshments at the pool. The pool was noting special. The Patio only had two tables to sit in the shade. And to top it off, they wanted an additional $5 per person for buffet breakfast. Every other Hilton we've been to breakfast has been free. We are Gold Honors members! That was an insult! DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Phoenix - Gilbert - An unwelcome visitor inside our room at our door. Good thing I was wearing shoes!!! - Hotels Near Me - Gilbert, Arizona

I've never experienced a "bad" Double Tree so I'm not surprised that this location was just as nice as others I have visited. This location is perfect if you're staying in the Gilbert/Mesa area. It's about 40 minutes from the airport which isn't terrible considering how large the Phoenix-area is. There is an impressive fitness room, a small pool that is perfect for a hot day, a spa (didn't get to check that out), and a solid restaurant with an $11 breakfast buffet every day! Their room service is also pretty good and not at all expensive. There is also a pantry downstairs (just like all Hilton locations have) with a vending machine (takes plastic) as well as snacks and other items you may need during your stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are HUGE and have massive ceilings. The only issue is while the room itself is large, the bathroom is small and narrow. The bathroom door opens right into the toilet. Water pressure and temperature is perfect. The rooms (especially the bathroom) are much too dark but you'll make due. There is also a tv with a lot of cable channels but who makes use of that? Overall, this is a great Double Tree location. read more

This hotel is by all standards just okay. The room was acceptable, the common spaces were pretty normal, the staff was friendly. There is nothing that pops out as a wow. The one thing that sets it apart from a normal doubletree level hotel is the architecture. It has a pretty cool mid-century look. The building looks pretty cool against the desert sunset. I think if you could do some minor unit upgrades this place would be a lot better and more attractive to stay in. Even all the common spaces has pretty good potential. Another thing to mention is the breakfast was pretty solid. They take it a couple notches above what you would normally see at a hotel this level. I was able to even make my own waffle. Pretty good. read more
