Kody, the bartender in the Lobby was the sole reason we'd come back here again!! He was so accommodating, helpful, and super fun to talk to and be around! We went down for one drink, but because he was so great we ended up having several rounds! Our room felt dated, and not super cleaned, but because of Kody, this will be our go to spot forever in the future! We've stayed at multiple hotels on our trip, and he was by far the best employee of anyone we encountered out of all of them! THANK YOU FOR BEING SO AMAZING KODY!!! We can't wait to come back for another long weekend and see you again!!

My family and I stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Phoenix - Gilbert Arizona from Saturday evening until Wednesday during Christmas week. When we arrived at the hotel, the check-in process was easy, however, we were not notified of all of the amenities or benefits during our stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Phoenix. We were provided physical cards and went to the room, located on the 3rd floor. It was a [2] queen bed with a sofa bed. There were only a few rooms like this at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Phoenix - Gilbert. We noticed that a few items were missing such as shampoo, conditioner, soaps, and an extra blanket for the sofa bed on our arrival. We had called into the front receptionist area requesting the missing items. It took about 3 hours for someone to come up to the room. We did ask the front desk if it was easier for us just to pick up the items at the receptionist area, but our family was informed just to wait in the room. The room was slightly outdated with an old AC system. It was relatively loud. The walls are thin as well. We could hear our neighbors and the traffic outside. During the first day of the stay, we noticed there was no warm water!! The water was so cold! When we woke up and went down on the second day to inform the staff that there was no warm water, we were informed to just let the water run for 20 minutes! My family and I are from Las Vegas, and we're used to conserving water. This was relatively alarming. During our entire stay, we had no warm water at this hotel!!! We took extremely quick showers during our stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Phoenix - Gilbert. There was construction down in the lobby and certain doors were not functioning to the pool area. Breakfast is available for an additional cost or included in your hotel stay if you booked with a breakfast package. The breakfast package only comes with one option which is their continental breakfast. This includes an option of eggs, sausage or bacon, toast, and a drink (orange juice or apple juice). Service was quick and easy! The team member who was at the bar area each day was friendly and helpful. There is one pool that is heated with an attached spa. Towels are complimentary for the pool area. The workout facility had some basic equipment, and everything was functioning appropriately. As we were visiting friends in the SanTan area, this hotel is one of the closest to that location. It's near the SanTan mall which has a variety of food options and attractions. Parking spots are spacious and free at this hotel. I wish that the team at the DoubleTree would have informed us that there was no hot water working at this hotel, otherwise, we would have stayed at a different Hilton hotel in the area. It would have made our trip a lot more enjoyable!

What a disappointment staying here as a Diamond member. Checked in and their system was down so digital keys didn't work. Which was fine however the keys given only worked one day. I stayed here for 3 nights and had to go downstairs every evening to get my card re-keyed. It was inconvenience especially after a long day having to go downstairs and wait as no one's at the front desk. Rooms were run down, but was ok. Bed was comfortable and rooms were clean. The vent systems is SO LOUD and you can't turn it off as the rooms gets very warm. Oh and no housekeeping ! No one tells you this when you check in. So if you are like me at a hotel to throw your towels on the floor after one use, you may wanna hold on to them at this hotel. I had to call to get fresh towels. Front desk, Amelia was so nice she offered cookies and water when she was there and greeted everyone with a hello and smile. Few others there barely made eye contact and you would have to ask for cookies or water. I have stayed at other Hinton double tree and was very surprised by this one not living up to expectations. Restaurant in the lobby was decent. Huge breakfast portions and good service. Locations of this hotel is the only good thing. You are across from Top Golf and 10-15min walk to a huge shopping area. There are tons of great restaurants around which you can Uber to.

I booked through Priceline...not a cheap rate. In the photo are "features" of the room I was assigned. I was not impressed. Only here for a few days as I relocate for my current company... Actually thought I was going to get nice ambience in a relaxing room. Front desk manager friendly, but this room for the money, not a good value... I would not stay here again and it makes me re-think the Double Tree brand...

Unfortunately, this hotel has begun to go downhill a bit. I have visited this hotel a few times since my initial review, and I have encountered several issues. There are definitely some pluses to this hotel, such as the amenities, insanely comfortable beds, and warm/welcoming staff. The location is also ideal. Though the cons are beginning to outweigh the pros. As I mentioned previously, renovations took place. Over a year later, renovations are still incomplete. I am unsure if rooms are complete or not, but they certainly feel a bit odd (large, empty space in the room and in the walls, modern furniture combined with dates dressers and headboards, etcetera). Also, some technology is still a bit dated, such as the air conditioning units and televisions. Further, the lack of attention to detail is still there, with new window blinds not covering the full window or paintings hung up crooked or even the shower curtain missing a layer, etcetera. On my most recent stay, the water boiler burst. This meant no hot water (I was not notified ahead of arrival despite it being broken for weeks ahead of time). Then, when maintenance finally came several days into my stay, they found a broken valve, meaning not hot OR cold water for hours outside of the designated repair time. I was forced to move to the nearby Tru hotel. This is, simply put, unacceptable, especially since staff at Tru told me that these issues had been forcing guests to relocate for WEEKS. As far as other issues I have encountered over the years: -Fire alarm going off due to construction -Smell of marijuana in cleaned rooms -Pool lights/heat broken -Key card reader batteries dead -Blood and rust-stained shower curtain I really hope that this hotel begins to improve, as it has so much potential. All it really needs is a good overhaul of its facilities and everything will be great. Until then, I will likely begin to look elsewhere.

The rate being charged for this hotel is absurd . This is not even a 1 star . Dirty and smelly . I am a lifetime diamond member and this is the worst property I have ever stayed at . A waste of using my points for this hotel .

This hotel fails to meet even the basic levels of the Hilton brand. I wouldn't recommend it.

It started off when I had a reservation for 3 days and called them and wanted to extend it a day. I had the Good Fortune of getting Taylor. When I asked her how much it would cost to add one day she very nicely asked me to hold on while she checked to see if I would qualify for any discounts. She took the extra time needed and found a discount that I would qualify for that made it so the extra day didn't cost that much more! I was extremely impressed with her customer service, her diligence, and her over and above efforts in order to save me money! Above all, during the whole time, she was so friendly and just a very nice person to work with. She took care of me as if I were her own grandpa! She was awesome! Then when we got there we had both Cash and Alan helping us check in and were two very nice young men! One of the things that had me excited about staying there was how on their website I saw the breakfast that was provided and it looked absolutely delicious. I wondered if it was really as good as it looked in the website. When we got there, it was even better! We met Bill who made sure we had plenty of food and was extremely nice and helpful along with the rest of the staff in the kitchen and serving area! The hotel was beautiful, it was clean, the food was absolutely delicious, and everybody treated us like family! Every time I talked to one of them they would tell me, if there was anything else they could do for us to please let them know! There was no doubt in my mind they meant what they said! I can't say enough good about all of them but especially Taylor who spent so much time trying to help me out! We had a wonderful time and I would recommend anybody who needs to stay anywhere near that area to give them a call and set up a reservation! With much appreciation, Wilford (Bill) Allen

The complimentary breakfast was quite nice with a good number of choices 6. The marketplace was well stocked with a large assortment of munchies and drinks to purchase Things I would change: 1. No in-room coffee makers. I don't like having to schlep down to the lobby first thing in the morning to get my coffee fix 2. The rooms lack storage for non-hanging clothing 3. The bed pedestals are "shin killers". You have to be very careful walking around the bed because the bed linens conceal the rigid wood corners of the pedestal, making it pretty likely you're going to smash a shin into it at some point during your stay 4. The provided pillows are anything but firm and do not provide any head support. If I'm on a budget and need to stay in the Gilbert area again sometime, I would definitely consider this hotel for a future stay.

When we checked in, I verified we were there for medical reasons and asked what the rate was. He said we would get it at checkout. I have never stayed in a hotel that would not tell me the rate upfront. He ran my CC, but said it would not be charged until we checked out. (I did not prepay) Upon check out, the GM, Tammy would not honor the medical discount. She said because I made the reservation via Expedia, she could not give me the discount (even though I called ahead, and was told when we checked in that we would be on a medical discount rate). Luckily it was only a 3-night stay - but I was mad enough with just those days being at a higher rate. House keeping did not clean our room on the scheduled day. The downstairs lobby area has plenty of seating and even little nooks where you can sit and work and not be disturbed. I never go down for the breakfast, but they had some decent options in their market if you are arriving late and need a little snacky snack. If you're looking for an easy and convenient space to stay, I recommend. I mean I think most people know what they are getting with a Residence Inn, but just in case the nice thing is you do get a small kitchen and there is usually some living space separate from the bed. I really felt like I had a ton of room to spread out.

There was also a small shop at the entrance selling snacks and chargers. Check-in was a bit slow as they had difficulty finding my reservation. The bathroom had communal soap, lotion, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. There was a note on the sink stating that other toiletries were also available upon request. I wished there was more toilet paper was included as there was only one extra roll. There was a sufficient number of towels for the sink and shower. However, I found the shower to be difficult to start as the shower pin was stuck. The shower knob was also labeled backwards as the "H" was on the side of cold water instead of hot. The bed and pillows were soft and supported. The bedsheets were clean but could have been thicker. I enjoyed the easy access to outlets and lighting from the convenience of my bed. The TV was large and there was a decent number of channels available. Breakfast was simple yet executed well. The omelets were light and fluffy.
