My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel three days ago and loved our stay! We booked a room online the day before our check in and got a text confirmation that our room was ready an hour and fifteen minutes before the check in time of 3 PM. When my wife and I got to the hotel, we were able to go straight to our room and use the room key in the Hilton app to unlock the door. When we walked inside, we were amazed at how spacious and clean the room was. We REALLY appreciated the fact that they left the AC on so the room was nice and cool when we got there. The stay at this DoubleTree location was decent. The property is absolutely kept clean and the staff are hospitable with accessible parking in multiple areas and entry points. The pool outside is also beautiful with an outdoor bar, and appears to be two jacuzzis. The restaurant has a decent amount of seating with a covered outdoor patio. IF and a big if, you want the cookie for every person at arrival, ensure that everyone checks in together. It's only provided to the guest at check-in. Coffee and tea are complimentary while water bottles in the room are $3 per bottle unless booked through Hilton as a member. The room is spacious and the window has a two-set shade for lighting control instead of curtains. It comes equipped with a smart TV that can be hooked up to services like Netflix, Apple TV and more. If your stay is short, five days or less, and do not require housekeeping, it's best to forego the service. Trash can be easily left outside of the room or brought to the bins by the parking areas. We returned to our room on the third day, after skipping service on the second day, with fresh towels even though the towels were hung. The bed was made although with not so fresh sheets. You can most certainly tell it wasn't. It wasn't dirty to begin with, but it would've been nice to have gotten fresh sheets. This hotel was alright and pretty average in just about every way. Nice friendly staff who is accommodating at reception and the restaurant. I don't like that you can't find a menu of the restaurant anywhere online and have to go in to see it but the food is delicious! There was a massive gap under my room door which made it extremely loud and I could hear everything this was happening in the hallway crystal clear. Same with my neighboring room which walls seem to be paper thin and I could hear their conversations as well. I would urge that these sound issues be fixed before I ever think about coming back to this hotel. read more

In Gilbert on business and the stay was less than accommodating. We advised the concierge the conditioner was out in the wall dispenser as well as the cleaning crew left supplies in the room. The said they would fix the issue. They collected the cleaning spray yet failed to refill the conditioner in the two nights we were there. It was nice to see the swimming pool set up, very attractive at night. However, the pool water was dirty and one hot tub did not work. The breakfast was nonexistent, and the bar came off poorly. The location seems it might be undergoing a facelift, yet nothing to advise guests of the renovations. The floor and walls had red tape, marked up walls, equipment in the lobby. Kody, the bartender in the Lobby was the sole reason we'd come back here again!! He was so accommodating, helpful, and super fun to talk to and be around! We went down for one drink, but because he was so great we ended up having several rounds! Our room felt dated, and not super cleaned, but because of Kody, this will be our go to spot forever in the future! We've stayed at multiple hotels on our trip, and he was by far the best employee of anyone we encountered out of all of them! THANK YOU FOR BEING SO AMAZING KODY!!! My family and I stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Phoenix - Gilbert Arizona from Saturday evening until Wednesday during Christmas week. When we arrived at the hotel, the check-in process was easy, however, we were not notified of all of the amenities or benefits during our stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Phoenix. We were provided physical cards and went to the room, located on the 3rd floor. It was a [2] queen bed with a sofa bed. There were only a few rooms like this at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Phoenix - Gilbert. We noticed that a few items were missing such as shampoo, conditioner, soaps, and an extra blanket for the sofa bed on our arrival. We had called into the front receptionist area requesting the missing items. It took about 3 hours for someone to come up to the room. We did ask the front desk if it was easier for us just to pick up the items at the receptionist area, but our family was informed just to wait in the room. The room was slightly outdated with an old AC system. It was relatively loud. The walls are thin as well. We could hear our neighbors and the traffic outside. During the first day of the stay, we noticed there was no warm water!! The water was so cold! When we woke up and went down on the second day to inform the staff that there was no warm water, we were informed to just let the water run for 20 minutes! My family and I are from Las Vegas, and we're used to conserving water. This was relatively alarming. During our entire stay, we had no warm water at this hotel!!! We took extremely quick showers during our stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Phoenix - Gilbert. There was construction down in the lobby and certain doors were not functioning to the pool area. Breakfast is available for an additional cost or included in your hotel stay if you booked with a breakfast package. The breakfast package only comes with one option which is their continental breakfast. This includes an option of eggs, sausage or bacon, toast, and a drink (orange juice or apple juice). Service was quick and easy! The team member who was at the bar area each day was friendly and helpful. There is one pool that is heated with an attached spa. Towels are complimentary for the pool area. The workout facility had some basic equipment, and everything was functioning appropriately. As we were visiting friends in the SanTan area, this hotel is one of the closest to that location. It's near the SanTan mall which has a variety of food options and attractions. Parking spots are spacious and free at this hotel. I wish that the team at the DoubleTree would have informed us that there was no hot water working at this hotel, otherwise, we would have stayed at a different Hilton hotel in the area. It would have made our trip a lot more enjoyable! read more

What a disappointment staying here as a Diamond member. Checked in and their system was down so digital keys didn't work. Which was fine however the keys given only worked one day. I stayed here for 3 nights and had to go downstairs every evening to get my card re-keyed. It was inconvenience especially after a long day having to go downstairs and wait as no one's at the front desk. Rooms were run down, but was ok. Bed was comfortable and rooms were clean. The vent systems is SO LOUD and you can't turn it off as the rooms gets very warm. Oh and no housekeeping ! No one tells you this when you check in. So if you are like me at a hotel to throw your towels on the floor after one use, you may wanna hold on to them at this hotel. I had to call to get fresh towels. Front desk, Amelia was so nice she offered cookies and water when she was there and greeted everyone with a hello and smile. Few others there barely made eye contact and you would have to ask for cookies or water. I have stayed at other Hinton double tree and was very surprised by this one not living up to expectations. Restaurant in the lobby was decent. Huge breakfast portions and good service. Locations of this hotel is the only good thing. You are across from Top Golf and 10-15min walk to a huge shopping area. This place sucks! Came to Phoenix for a volleyball tournament and had to pay way too much for a barely average place. The manager accused us of purposely having a do not disturb sign up, after we complained that our room never got cleaned. No toilet paper. No clean towels after a long day of hard playing volleyball. Mind you WE never had it on. The elevator has been in and out of being out of order for three days, having people to take the stairs more often than the elevator. For how expensive this place is, choose somewhere else! read more

Room is like a prison cell. Hardwood floors, 15' ceilings. 1978 furniture. I've stayed at a lot of double trees and this hotel is not your typical "double tree". Room seem to be clean. Staff has been very nice, just Feels more like the No Tell Motel. read more

Management. I had to try and stop fire alarm myself after 30 mins. Zero help. A Man came in during chaos and asked if there was a fire, I said no, and he left me and my 9 year old to deal with it. While I am frantically fanning alarm. I ended up having to put a side table on top of mini fridge to detach the alarm from ceiling. Went downstairs to give him the piece of alarm I detached and he looked at me as if I was a ghost. He only said "we don't sell popcorn". Great info thank you. Interesting they went through the trouble of closing all the doors in hallways and elevators. My son is definitely traumatized. Horrible place. Maybe in 5 years they will get it together. read more

Totally forgot to write this review, but stayed here with my husband when we were in town visiting our best friends for their baby shower. This hotel was the closest to their house, which was the main reason we selected it to stay at. It was also very convenient that her parents were staying at this hotel, too, and were able to drive us to and from their house, too. I don't truly understand all the bad reviews for this hotel, because our stay wasn't terrible. I found the service at the front desk to be really friendly and helpful. They even gave us a hot cookie for our stay, which I thought was really nice. The rooms were also okay, too. A little old, and probably needing some update, but not terrible. My husband used the gym and said it was alright, too. Again, very expected. The room was clean and really that's all I truly need when staying at one of these places. The bed wasn't the most comfortable and I'm pretty sure they advertised it as a king bed, but that was definitely a queen haha. As someone who spent a lot of her life sleeping on a queen and recently transitioning to a king, you can tell the difference, so we KNOW it was a queen haha. I mean, it's budget friendly right? You get what you pay for for sure. Even when walking through the hallway, the staff even said hello when they would see us. Again, the service I would actually say was 4 star, but the rooms themselves probably more of a 3 star. Again, just okay. Nothing to write home about. Would I stay here again for a cheap hotel stay? Sure. But if I was looking to do a vacation-vacation? I'd probably go elsewhere. read more

The one star reviews are true you guys it's a mirage in the desert. The service was fine. You go one star ! You earned that ! It bums me out to even write a one star , I hardly ever expect to do that . The rooms shown by the business are , to me, in my opinion, a bait and switch . The rooms are so dated, worn out and walls are so thin. I kept wanting to say " God bless you " to the person sneezing and coughing in the room next to me. The bathroom tub ...disgusting ! The wooden counter was cracking and peeling. Rust everywhere. I had to wedge the soap holder under the painted stopper to keep the drain open, the water went past my ankles , about mid thigh. The small pool was green and I couldn't see the bottom , scared me from using the big pool that was blue and clear. Cigarette butts everywhere around the pool area. And the little bar that they had is out of order . It was in bad BAD disrepair that it's non usable, it's a couch storage and broken chair storage. It's all rusty and dilapidated. It was difficult to get sleep here and that's because probably when it was built sound proofing was not a thing. So you'll hear the train plenty of times at night , and all the street racing. One of the elevators was broken and a review from almost a year ago still rings true when they say the doors to the go to the pool are broken . Still not working as of 10/2023. Unfortunately, this hotel has begun to go downhill a bit. I have visited this hotel a few times since my initial review, and I have encountered several issues. There are definitely some pluses to this hotel, such as the amenities, insanely comfortable beds, and warm/welcoming staff. The location is also ideal. Though the cons are beginning to outweigh the pros. As I mentioned previously, renovations took place. Over a year later, renovations are still incomplete. I am unsure if rooms are complete or not, but they certainly feel a bit odd (large, empty space in the room and in the walls, modern furniture combined with dates dressers and headboards, etcetera). Also, some technology is still a bit dated, such as the air conditioning units and televisions. Further, the lack of attention to detail is still there, with new window blinds not covering the full window or paintings hung up crooked or even the shower curtain missing a layer, etcetera. On my most recent stay, the water boiler burst. This meant no hot water (I was not notified ahead of arrival despite it being broken for weeks ahead of time). Then, when maintenance finally came several days into my stay, they found a broken valve, meaning not hot OR cold water for hours outside of the designated repair time. I was forced to move to the nearby Tru hotel. This is, simply put, unacceptable, especially since staff at Tru told me that these issues had been forcing guests to relocate for WEEKS. As far as other issues I have encountered over the years: -Fire alarm going off due to construction -Smell of marijuana in cleaned rooms -Pool lights/heat broken -Key card reader batteries dead -Blood and rust-stained shower curtain I really hope that this hotel begins to improve, as it has so much potential. All it really needs is a good overhaul of its facilities and everything will be great. Until then, I will likely begin to look elsewhere. read more

Hotel lacks customer service and a GM who care less to accommodate for guests. Some of the restaurant amenities are not available and makes it difficult as there is nothing else next to the hotel. The staff advised of restaurants down the road in a complex. Try walking in 114 degrees! Hotel needs to do a better job to advise of guests which amenities they will provide rather than falsely listing it. read more

Sounds crazy, I know, but we just needed to do something 'different' this weekend. We used to have a restaurant called Bravo in Indiana and they have a sister restaurant called Brio in Gilbert. There is also the huge San Tan Village outdoor mall to explore in the same spot. So, we decided to make a full day of it and just stay at the Doubletree, which is walking distance to the mall. ~$225/night for a King Junior suite, we chose a room at the end of the hall so we'd only have neighbors on one side. They seemed fairly full; and seems a ball team (high school I think) was here as well. The room was clean, sealed to enter, remote control was in a sanitized bag. Bed was super comfortable as well as quality pillows. Staff wore masks that we saw, there is hand sanitizer inside the front door and signs everywhere saying to wear a mask. Staff did NOT enforce other customers wearing masks, so there was awkward discomfort at times. The bartender was fantastic- we ordered dinner (burger and hummus plate) and then breakfast (was free as a diamond) and har eggs, bacon; potatoes, sourdough etc. all good. Nice guy and he works hard :). Bartender is a 5, the hotel is a 1, this the 3 score. Now to the downsides, this place is really run down. Shabby, beat up; no other words. The tub caulking was gross, the shower stream is like standing under a garden hose. The couch is sunken in the middle- it was comical trying to watch TV without both of us 'sinking' into the center of the couch. The pool was nice and there were plenty of places to sit outside and have a glass of wine. Tons of teens in the pool playing chicken, so didn't swim, but they were having fun, all good. Also, the road noise is horrendous if you're on the east facing side (even numbers). Even with the AC unit on continuous fan, wow. The upside is you have a fantastic view of the sunrise over the mountains- trying to still find a silver lining :) Definitely not worth what we paid, BUT, the weather was glorious; we enjoyed our Brio lunch, and walked the entire mall just to absorb the sunshine. read more

Where to begin. I'm torn two different ways by this hotel. 1 star for some things and 5 stars for others. I had to give it an overall 3 stars. First, the good. The staff was amazing. They went above and beyond to make sure that our stay was a pleasant one, and overall, it was. I big shout-out to Ryan, Michael, Rudy, Kathleen and Kenna. If I've forgotten anybody, don't worry, everybody we made contact with at the hotel was fantastic. Okay, the not-so-good. The hotel was in disrepair, in desperate need of a renovation. One of two elevators was out of order, the main pool was green for 3 of the 6 days we were there, the dining room smelled like a greasy kitchen, access to the pool was blocked by the main door, the landscaping wasn't kept up properly and the daily room service was okay at best. Would we stay there again? Sure, but only after a complete renovation. read more

Stay away! This place is horrible! They say they are in the middle for renovations, but that's not an excuse for how dirty and outdated it is! It looks like they just tossed random furniture in each room and rented them out. No Netflix on tv's, the bed frames are made from aluminum and make loud noises every time you move, the AC sucked and was super loud as well, the flooring was lifted and bc of that, my sons foot was cut really bad. The area in which this Double Tree surrounds is amazing. Lots of great restaurants and entertainment for adults & children. Which was probably the nicest thing about this hotel. Unfortunately the customer service was horrible. From the moment we walked in and checked in my family and I didn't feel welcomed at all. The front desk lady with reddish hair made us feel anytime we asked for a request we were a burden. The only moment I felt welcomed was for breakfast when a gentleman connected with me and my daughter by letting her she all the cereal that had available. The pool area is great and we spent a lot of time there but my 2 year old daughter found a dead bird under one of the chairs. I was disappointed to feel this way as I only stay with Hilton hotels but I had to write this review to display my frustration. read more

BAIT AND SWITCH! The room was clean and great for the weekend trip that we needed visiting family. But they FALSE ADVERTISE their supposed "free" breakfast. They tried telling us that it was only a $30 credit for two people when we had booked a room for FOUR people. How does that make sense. The staff also thought it was ridiculous. They said that they are sorry but that's what they did for COVID. If you are coming hoping to get a fairly priced room and breakfast I would go somewhere else there's better options. Oh and get this if you go over your $30 credit they will charge you $50 dollars what a scam. At least just be truthful about what you advertise. read more

Hotel staff was friendly. Rooms are a little outdated. The hotel lobby is really nice. The lobby bar has a great selection and the bartender Mike is a really cool guy. Not sure where to start. The hotel was filthy and in disrepair. When I checked in there was a half empty water bottle on the counter in my room (gross), I reported it to the front desk and the lady there said "that's weird, we don't offer water bottles in the room." The TV was not functioning, maintenance came and fixed it. Apparently someone pulled all of the cables out of the back of the TV. The pool was closed, and when it did open the door to the pool was not working. One of the elevators was not working, so the wait for a car was quite long. The floor in the room was filthy, and it turned the bottom of my feet a very weird dark color. There were multiple tiles in the hallway that appeared to be held down with Duct tape. The door to my room was covered in dark smudges and looks like it hadn't been wiped down in ages. The toilet seat was broken. When I needed to "use the seat", as soon as I reached for some TP, the seat came loose and crushed a very sensitive part of my body. The shower leaked in such a way that the bathroom floor was covered in water even when I closed the shower curtain. The bar to get in and out of the bathtub was broken, glad I didn't need to use it. The bathtub had quite a bit of rust leaching through the porcelain. There were screws in the walls where pictures used to be. The mismatched and badly worn furniture in the room looked like it came from a thrift store. On a positive note, the Staff was very friendly, but seemed to be oblivious to the condition of the Hotel. I use Hilton quite a bit, I can't believe that they allow their name to be put on this property. C'mon Hilton, you are better than this! read more

I stayed at this place this weekend. We arrived around midnight Friday night. Daughter and I went to bed immediately, since she had a softball tournament the next day. When I woke up in the morning, I had a bite on my left leg. I have reacted allergically to it and my entire left leg is swollen from it, had to see a doctor when I got home today. Our room had an old key and an unused towel on the night stand on my side and now I am overthinking absolutely everything from those 2 nights we spent there. Worse thing ever. read more

So, I got in late at about 1am. My room stunk like someone microwaved fish. It was horrible. We had a long drive so we were exhausted so we toughed thru the stink and slept thru it. In the morning we left before 10am and asked for our room to be checked and cleaned. They said, "you need to schedule that 1 day in advance". After we told them about the smell, they said someone will be in to check it out. We got back to our room at 4p and the smell was worse! I went up to the rude front receptionist girl and she said, "sorry. No rooms. I'm booked." I told her we waited for someone to check on the smell and no one came by. I am not going to let my 3 kids and wife sleep thru this another night! She rolled her eyes, took a huge sigh and said, "just go to your room. I'll send someone to check it out ." Well, someone did show up. But not to check it out. To drop off 2 spay bottles and basically said to spray and good luck! I asked the cleaning lady about the stench. She said, "we know about the smell. We tried to clean it but it's gotten worse." So wait....the hotel knew about this problem and still tried to book people and hope they don't complaint!?! Incredible! I went back to Ms. Roll your eyes and told her I will not tolerate having someone drop off sprays and telling me to do it myself. When I asked for a supervisor, it was like I asked her to contact the pope! She threw a fit about needing to call her. Them she again directed me back to my room. Magically there was a room available! I call that Lazyness to the max! Worst experience at a HILTON owned hotel! I need an explanation and possibly a refund for this experience. Our reservation got messed up, they miss charged us, the manager was rude on the phone when I tried to resolve the issue, and the room was nothing like the pictures. The walls needed paint, there were lightbulbs out, they charged for everything, the breakfast service people were slow and rude, and it smelled funny. I would NEVER book this hotel again. Where do I start. The young lady at check in said all of 4 sentences to me.. "Checking in?" "Sign at the bottom,please." "The elevators is right over there in the lobby." "Would you like a cookie?" No greeting. Did NOT verify the length of the stay or the amount being charged. No goodbye. NOT the way to start a stay I am paying $350 for. The room was nice. Bed nice and blankets warm. AC worked great. The cookies were hard as hockey pucks. Tried to soften it up in the microwave. That just gave me warm hockey pucks. Next morning, I take the bags to me car out back only to find myself unable to get back in the building with my keys. As my wife had already pulled the car around, I walked around to the front and into the lobby to check out and let them know how it went. The overnight lady apologized and gave me an excuse that the front desk person at check-in also had to clean like 20 rooms. If that's the case, I hope the managers were also there so that the front desk girl could do her job more appropriately. I also inquired about why the back doors were all locked out even for room keys. She said something about a maintenance issue and security. I don't know what she was trying to say. I held off on doing a review until today to give them another chance. I had stayed at this facility a few weeks ago and thought it might have been just a one time experience. When we stayed previously, the rooms were very musty and moldy smelling and moist. I would expect that at a beach side hotel or a hotel in the southern states, but definitely not in Arizona. We stayed again in a different room, on a different floor, and on a different side of the hotel. These rooms were just as musty and moldy smelling as the others. The building is old and the tile is broken and the carpets in the hallways are dingy and have an overall worn down appearance.The pictures that they post on mine are definitely deceptive. There is not a free breakfast. If you are a diamond member, they will give you a $12 credit which covers a portion of your meal. Definitely not worth the cost. The second time, we skipped breakfast and just went to a local breakfast establishment recommended on yelp. We have been Hilton diamond members for many years and this is one of the worst we have stayed at, especially for the price they charge. I would have expected the condition at a lo Inn Hotel, but definitely not from your typical double tree. On a positive note, both times, the front desk people were friendly and helpful. It is also relatively close to the Mesa Gateway airport. However, with other options nearby, we won't be staying here again. read more
