The hotel room was clean can't complain too much about it. I do wish the lighting was different bc it was rather dull even with all the lights on. The beds made a noise every time I turned. Lots of parking for sure. They offer breakfast but it is paid. They do also sale coffee but every time I passed it wasn't open could also be the times I was coming and going. I would have given it more stars but they did have me drive to the hotel to see if I can do early check in. They couldn't tell me by phone. So I made the drive which I wish I hadn't. I have done early check in plenty of times at no cost. However, the front desk agent told me I had serval options while on the phone when I arrived she tells me it's $150 for early check in. Which I was baffled by as I have never had to pay. The pool was also going to be closed for a day due to maintenance. Not a terrible hotel but I am sure you can find something better at a similar price.

I wish I had read the Yelp reviews on this hotel instead of the reviews on Expedia. The reviews on Expedia rated this place as excellent, and I found it to be far far away from the term excellent. This hotel is way overpriced for a one star hotel. This hotel is dirty, dirty, dirty. The bathrooms have hair on the floor and dirty bathtubs. Some type of bodily fluid was stuck to the tub. Stained wallpaper with god knows what bodily fluids. We were assigned a connected room in the lower half of the building. I imagine that this area of the hotel is what guests on the Titanic assigned to the steerage deck would have experienced. My husband and I were the only guests registered yet they assigned us a room with a Queen bed along with two toddler beds in the same suite. Also the staff did not tell us that our room is a connecting room where there was a large family with two children on the other side of the connecting door. All night long and very early the next morning we were exposed to the delightful sounds of children in the adjoining room screaming, and crying as well as their two loud mouthed parents continuously scolding them. I suppose the walls are paper thin. Once the kids were asleep we thought to ourselves, at least it's quiet now and we can sleep. WRONG!! It seems that our room located in the lower level wing was near some sort of utility room. All night long we had to endure annoyingly loud noises from what seemed like an engine or motor of some sort. We heard drilling noises, noises from water pipes possibly... it's hard to tell what the noise was but it felt like we were in the engine room of the a ship - just brutal!! The next morning we asked for another room. We were assigned a proper room in the building 5th floor. In this room we had other issues- albeit not as horrible as the first room. We attempted to turn on the heat as the air conditioning was on at full blast when we walked in to the room. There was no heat- the unit just blew more cold air into the room even when set at 73 degrees. In the morning the heat came on and this god awful nauseating smell blew out of the A/C unit. We had to turn it off as the smell was unbearable. There was also some type of growth on the hot water faucet in the bathroom sink. Torn curtains on the 5th floor by the elevators. This hotel is just plain gross. Yes it's terribly outdated which is fine if it were at least clean. I'm not going to even mention the disgusting breakfast buffet. I observed guests at the buffet table coughing and hacking all over the food. I told the server I did not want to eat from the buffet and ordered a bowl of oatmeal from the menu instead. She directed me to get myself a bowl of oatmeal from the buffet and she would just charge me $8 for the bowl. ( I suppose she expected a tip for that type of service - my tip is to avoid the breakfast buffet) Two good things I can say about this place is that the staff were very professional and courteous and tried to be accommodating. The other positive is that the bed was comfortable. We will never stay here again or any other Double Tree Hilton for that matter. Tip: Don't trust the reviews on Expedia or Travelocity because I did and they were far from truthful. it seems that Yelp reviews are more honest and trustworthy.

This hotel had hallways that smelled of smoke, rooms that were run down and no options for coffee or snacks for many hours of the day. If we hadn't been there with a group, I would have checked out. The toilet seat that was cracked all over to harbor germs and can't get fully clean was apparently common among rooms, and is unacceptable. It is also convenient to nothing.

This had to be one of the best hotel stays that we had experienced in quite a while. Check in was a breeze, the room was clean, the air conditioner was nice and cold, the room was spacious, the curtain closed completely, and the bed was super comfortable. If we were here for more than a night, I would have loved to had tried their restaurant. But for the time that we spent here I could not muster one single complaint!

Check in here was great! We got to check in early at 11:30. The woman and the manager oh and even the housekeeper we ran into were all superrrr pleasant. Rooms were soo clean, smelled great, fully stocked.the pool is really big & the best part is it wasn't busy.. even on a saturday. The hot tub was lovely, no kids allowed in hot tub, which makes it even more relaxable hahaa. The hotel is very peaceful and the environment had great vibes. There is also a lounge and restaurant in the hotel. Breakfast is not included it's eight dollars per child and $16 per adult. Water park & lazy river was loveee. & a big plus ... it wasn't busy esp for a weekend. Overall great stay , deff recommend for a fun weekender. Prices are afforable as well. Actually this place is the old "coco key resort" (renamed now) which i went to when I was a kid so it was a really excited to realize that when i was here lol

They're doing renovations on the entire building, and the only acknowledgement to guests is a little card in the room saying "BIG NEWS! That was sarcasm in case you didn't clock it. Sorry for a poor press, but I know you can do better! Please try harder!

Make sure to always bring your room key card for swipe access. Free breakfast in the hotel lobby that starts 6:30 AM on weekdays and 7 AM on weekends. No EV charging available, but free overnight parking. Appearances wise, the rooms are slightly newer/nicer than the Hampton inn next door. In reality, you can see how dated this hotel is: the corner pipe paint is peeling off, slow toilet flush, tub is updated, etc. I talked to the hotel and they do a refresh every 8-9 years. I think this hotel has been around for 30 years and it is the oldest hotel amongst the three: Hampton inn, homewood suites, and springhill suites. Breakfast selection changes on a daily basis, but it is essentially the same as the Hampton Inn next door. I wonder if they run the same menu on a daily basis with slight variation. Public bathroom is also located on the first floor if you need to use it. Nice lobby area. If you need anything like extra towels or trash bag, you have to go downstairs and ask from the receptionist. I don't think they have enough staff to send stuff to your room. Love the fact that the room has pots, pans, plates, utensils, dishwasher, etc for convenient kitchen needs.

He provided us with maps of the downtown Salem area for our trip Friday, gave great recommendations on places to eat, and overall was very pleasent to speak with. We secured room 423, and directions on the property to get there. Lots of parking. The room was on the second floor without an elevator so you needed to bring your luggage up a few lights of steps. The room was BIG. Offered a kitchenette, living room area, large king bed, vanity, shower and shampoo/conditioner/body wash. There were dishes to use and dishwasher with pod. We arrived and were directed to a suite directly at the back of the property which is adjacent to route 1. Now, you are so close it's like you're on the shoulder of the highway. There is no soundproofing of windows and no sound barriers to blunt the noise, which was deafening with folks racing and revving their engines nonstop. There were cigarette butts just outside our door, and the room smelled dank and smoky -- almost like there had been a flood at one time. Everything seemed to have a ding in it -- chipped furniture, stains on the couch, a cabinet hanging on its hinges. We could hear people above us clearly, and much too clearly at that! There was also a lack of security. There were sliding doors that were not initially locked and there was a flimsy bar to prevent the door from opening that looked like it would break pretty easily if forced. The lock on the front door was funky -- sometimes I couldn't lock/unlock it and the screws were loose at the bolt. Maybe the surrounding area once had some life to it, but we drove through some abandoned big box stores that had transients living in the parking lots, which didn't make us feel great. Because you're not in a hotel with a traditional front desk with security personnel, you are more vulnerable, so this was a serious consideration. We tried to call the front desk to ask if there was another room available, but the phone didn't work! We sat there for a minute looking the place over, listening to the whizzing of engines and considering all the faults of the room and decided to leave ASAP. I will say that once we drove back to the main building, the woman behind the front desk was very nice and didn't give us a hassle about leaving. This is the worst property we've stayed at while being Marriott Bonvoy members for 20 years. Not sure if just our room was the pits or they all are, but based on our experience, I would certainly AVOID this place if you want a decent night's sleep and a feeling of security.

The biggest issue: the hotel hosted a large, ticketed public event that completely took over the main lobby--with zero advance notice to guests. I woke up to a lobby packed with strangers and nowhere to sit or gather with my family. I've never stayed at a hotel that allows a public event to fully overrun its only common area without warning paying guests. And no, "just go somewhere else" isn't an option--there is nowhere else. There are no additional common spaces and no elevator. Since we were meeting elderly family members, climbing three to four flights of stairs to our room wasn't possible. The lobby being unusable wasn't a minor inconvenience; it was a dealbreaker. Operationally, things only went downhill. Check-in is at 4pm, but arrive after 5pm and there's no one on-site to check you in. Checkout, however, is rigidly 11am. Our room was never cleaned during the stay, despite leaving the "please clean" tag on the door. Because of the limited staffing hours, we couldn't even get fresh towels. Then there's the mouse. I saw one in the common area and notified staff. Nothing was done. Food is left out uncovered for guests, which I promptly avoided--because "boutique hotel meets rodent buffet" isn't really my vibe. What's also new: some sort of train or underground rumbling that shakes the building roughly every hour, offering a front-row seat to what feels like an earthquake simulator. If this were a budget motel or a Holiday Inn, I might shrug and move on. But this is a $500-per-night hotel, and at that price point, these issues are unacceptable. Until these problems are addressed, I wouldn't recommend staying here--and I certainly won't be returning.

We did have a car, and while the attached garage made things convenient, the daily parking fee felt high for what it is (almost $30 a day). Just a heads-up. Also, there is self-park, and at risk of sounding cheap, here's a tip to save you on some tips... valet is optional, and I don't think I've ever been in a hotel where it's less necessary. Self-park is the same price, but you spare yourself the constant tipping, which feels like one more tiny cash grab unless maybe the garage fills up at certain times and they have to move cars elsewhere. The room was nice enough for a short stay, though some acceptable / common deficiencies are starting to show -- scuffed walls, certain outlets loosening up so the prongs don't stay in well, one bulb burned out, etc. But the beds were comfortable enough, the bedding seemed clean, the bathroom was also clean and the shower worked well, and the room overall still had a reasonably new look and style to it. The pool was also clean, warm, and the overall pool area looked well maintained with plenty of clean towels available and a good amount of seating. The pool deck definitely gets a little slick when wet, so watch your step. Breakfast was almost exactly what you'd expect from similar U.S. chain hotels -- pre-made omelets or scrambled eggs depending on the day, home fries, paper-thin bacon or sausage patties, a few cereals and yogurts, a make-your-own waffle station, a couple fruit options, a push-button juice machine, instant oatmeal, etc. There's a good amount of seating, and a handful of tables have their own TVs (though you may have to hunt for a remote, and you might get some cross-room interference if someone else points theirs the wrong way). One interesting detail: breakfast isn't on the ground floor, and you can't reach it via the elevator without a keycard. I assume that's intentional to reduce non-guest walk-ins. Overall, I'd stay here again for the location and reasonable price -- just with the caveat to budget for the nearly $30/day parking or have a workaround ready. The convenience makes it tolerable, but it's definitely something to be aware of.
