There might also be a line of.cars waiting foe the nearby ferry. It's been cleaned up a lot in the last few years, no more open air drug market.

One of the best parts is simply relaxing along the waterfront path and watching the steady stream of Washington State Ferries traveling back and forth across the Sound. During the summer months, the park even features an outdoor swimming pool. Our main reason for visiting was to see Bruun Idun created by Danish artist Thomas Dambo, and it did not disappoint. While walking the Puget Sound trail to find the troll, we also spotted a bald eagle perched in its nest--very cool! After snapping photos, we were treated to a beautiful sunset over the water. With nature, art, and incredible views all in one place, Lincoln Park is absolutely worth a visit.

Chelsea Park was my neighborhood park growing up. I've been there probably 100+ times…read more I've played organized and recreational sports there, participated in day camp there, and did about a dozen other things there during my childhood. It's a nice neighborhood park tucked away just off Ambaum and 136th. The park is basically divided into two sections, the playground area which is on top of a little hill and the field, which is down below. The playground area was renovated within the last 10-15 years and has a nice playground and walkway area up above. I don't know if it's due to the location, off Ambaum and 136th/near the (formerly called Seahurst Village Apartments) or what, but I don't see too many kids there playing. The field down below has a small baseball/softball field that is well-kept because it's used for little league baseball/softball and Kennedy Catholics softball team as well. The field isn't by enough for high schoolers (90 ft base paths and 60 ft mound), nor can it accommodate power hitters (due to houses relatively close down the right field line and a moderately short left field. Basically, If you're looking to play baseball you're better off going to Sunset Fields or Moshier Fields - you'll have more real estate there. The open field/grassy area is though good for pickup games of football, soccer, ultimate frisbee, etc. as well as catch and just general running. Often, at night - just before sunset ("after work") you may often find members of Burien's Hispanic community playing recreational soccer there - so if you're someone who had the itch to play, and doesn't play organized soccer or can't find people to play with, then it may be worth dropping by one night to see if people are playing. All-in-all, Chelsea Park is a fairly nice neighborhood park in the Burien-area that provides a variety of different opportunities for playtime and/or rec-athletics

The park is located next to New Holly with picnic shelters, a plaza, an expanded children's play area, landscaping, and a community garden. Even so, for a small park, it does have a lot to offer for recreation. There we're quite a few people walking there dogs there too. Great place to sit & eat that to-go-order on a nice sunny afternoon.

The Rainier Beach Playfield has received a much needed face lift. From climbing to swinging to…read morejumping, all will be enthusiastically enjoyed at this renovated play area complete with new play equipment and climbing structures and one of Seattle Parks' longest zip lines! Surrounded by two large baseball fields and new and improved tennis courts, the Rainier Beach Playfield is adjacent to the community center and now more modern than ever. Your little monkey will love the giant spider-web of climbing ropes, and the new fitness equipment makes working out the wiggles even more fun. Kids (and parents!) will also enjoy scooting back and forth on a skateboard attached to rails, working their legs on an elliptical-type contraption, and scampering up and over the mini-climbing wall. When your kiddo is ready to take a break from all that climbing and jumping, this newly renovated play space is home to two large yellow swinging chairs with chest harnesses--perfect for ages 5-12. Unfortunately toddlers are too small to fit comfortably in these bigger swings, but other swings with updated padded seats are also featured--great for big kids and grown ups alike! Toddlers and waddlers will find the manicured green space in the center of the play area an excellent place to explore. And when your family gets tired of the play structures, there is plenty of shaded green space to relax, kick a ball around or play tag. Nice park, love all the new equipment.
