We arrived on Saturday 10/25/25 at about 7:45 pm and got three buffets. The hours listed state the restaurant is open until 10:00 pm on Saturdays. Nobody told us they were not restocking the buffet line and in 15 minutes would start putting food away. I got a plate from the salad bar. When I went to get plate of hot food, there was no turkey out and the pizza look old, like the stuff the guy at Johnny Quick wouldn't even sell you because it was too old. I got another plate of salad waiting for more turkey and fresher pizza to come out. It never did. About 8'oclcok, I heard a customer being turned away because they were closing. I saw employees putting away food. There was my family and at least two other groups still in the restaurant. I check, still the same old pizza. Still no turkey. I got a pastrami sandwich which honestly was pretty good. I came back and asked for a small plate of pilaf, and was told they already put away the pilaf, I asked for mashed potatoes, sorry, we are all out. The salad I got and the pastrami sandwich were good. It wasn't what I wanted because I came here specifically for a turkey sandwich. I checked my GPS and we left the parking lot at 8:20, very dissatisfied. NOTE TO MANAGEMENT: You should be ashamed for serving the pizza you had on display on 10/25/25 at 7:45 pm, over two hours before you are closing! You should be ashamed for not restocking the food on your buffet! You should be ashamed to charge a family for a buffet that is closing 15 minutes and not telling them! read more

The restaurant itself is so beautiful, the previous owners had the building looking dark and gloomy. The restaurant now is so full of light has nice music playing and it's gives high end vibes. The service was lacking. We did have a big group of 6 (4 Adults/2 Childeren), a waiter took our drink order and got confused because there was unclear communication with another waitress who was actually going to be handing our table. Also we were not able to get refills for quite some time (nearly the end our meal). We dealt with 4 staff members for our table during our experience mostly just to come pick up plates. One waitress said everything is okay and just walked away. Kinda of bizarre because we wanted to ask for refills. The food was very disappointing. The advertising is very misleading. You expect a little more variety for a "buffet" style salad bar. Everything was cold, even the food that was in "warmers" was barely warm. The breads they offered were all hard and dry. The two pastas they had were okay. The meat carving station is not self serve and there was a lady who was very rude about letting that be known. The meat at the carving station is very dry. I really wanted this restaurant to be a hit because it's in a convenient location and the way it's advertised online is very nice and gives off a totally different impression than what I actually experienced. Basically, it's a very overpriced bistro. If you're looking for a bigger variety salad bar just make the drive to Golden corral or up the mountain to Chukchansi. My wife wanted to check this place out yesterday (Sunday) for lunch. I drove by and there were maybe two cars in the lot. The building looks like a polished turd. Plants are dying, they painted over damaged wood paneling, 'Grand Opening' sign is old and sagging, etc. I asked my wife this question "If they can't take care of the business landscaping, remove the grand opening sign cuz it's been there for several months, do you really think they care about serving good food?" I was really excited to try Dosan Clovis, especially since it was described as a mix between the old Silver Dollar Hofbrau and Sweet Tomatoes--two local favorites with big reputations to live up to. Unfortunately, the experience fell short. The salad bar was pretty basic, and the carving station only offered two meats, both of which were very dry. There was also an appetizer bar, but most of the food--like the mac and cheese, jalapeño poppers, and scalloped potatoes--was cold. I understand it can be tough for a new restaurant to gauge traffic and get everything running smoothly, but maintaining proper temperature on both hot and cold items should be a top priority. I truly hope they can work out these issues, because the concept has great potential and Clovis could really use a place like this done right. read more

We were there a little before 5 o'clock. The soup was so salty I couldn't eat it. They had chicken wings that were dried up. I think they were from the lunch time. The salad fixings didn't look appealing, but were ok, nothing that good. Overall it was not good. My husband did have the prime rib and he said it was good. 3 desserts to choose from, the pudding wasn't bad, but the cakes were dry. I did voice my opinion, and I got the impression they didn't really care what I had to say. There was a response of maybe he should refill the chicken wings. This concept could of been exicuted differently, one side of the restaurant was a luxury buffet, the other, a sports bar playing football on tv screens. Nice salad bar with traditional toppings and a few Mediterranean items. Loved the quinoa topping. Hot food bar with Mac n cheese, mild buffalo wings, crispy crust pizzas and these yummy mini calzones filled with I believe to be spinach, artichoke and cheeses. Very addicting. They have a mini version of silver dollar Hofbrau type carving station. Fresh roast beef, turkey and pastrami stacked high on an au jus dipped French roll. Fresh mashed potatoes with real gravy and brats. A dessert bar with a variety of mini brownie bites and lemon bars as well as cookies and parfaits. The staff and owners were very personable. The restaurant was very clean/atmosphere and jazz music was great...Staff was on point & friendly... first I had the salad bar & it was very fresh/delicious, a lot to select from grate salad.. second I went to the area where they had the baked potatoes veggies, and they had some Mexican food items that I was not expecting at that restaurant.. which I believe they should leave off the menu ,and just keep with their theme of the old Fresno half brow, upscale food items, for the price.. my baked potato and sautéed veggies we're cold.. and third I went to the meat buffet.. I had the mashed potatoes and gravy, which were very delicious and warm, but ,I also requested a pastrami sandwich on a toasted bun with Swiss cheese it was tasty, but the meat was not very warm.. I asked for two thin slices of the roast beef, but the roast beef was dry... The desert area was nice. It had chocolate chip cookies/brownies and banana pudding, which was very good... I did not try any of their soups.. we were there for dinner at 5 o'clock.. so I don't know if we'll be going back or not. Looking for someplace new. I read the reviews online and decided to try this place out. The decor was very pleasing and felt inviting. Very roomy. Employees are very welcoming and friendly. You can pick to have the salad bar or add the carving station for total of $24.99 i think. We did the whole experience. They only had two types of soups. The pizza could have been warmer. There were only three types of deserts unlike the photos on yelp. Smaller banana pudding than the pictures, brownies and I think was carrot cake. They will make you a sandwich at the carving station if you prefer. Overall, it was very enjoyable with my family and I would definitely go again. read more

We went seriously hoping this would be a new buffet place to go to and we were seriously disappointed. We went on a Saturday evening and our first clue about the place should have been how empty it was. I have to say the best part about the place was the employees they were all very nice and friendly but the food definitely fell flat. I don't eat a lot of meat so I had a baked potato that unfortunately was cold and could tell it had been sitting for quite a while which was the same with the pizza it was very cold and not much to choose from. Also the pizza ran out and no one was replenishing it. The salad bar portion was ok there was a decent selection of toppings but some of the lettuce was wilted and turning that weird pinkish/orange color which means it's not fresh. There were dinner rolls and cornbread which were hard and very dry and the desserts section was very lacking and also extremely dry as they seemed to be sitting out for quite some time. My husband wanted some meats from the carving station and there was 2 people in line in front of him and I had to keep looking over to see if he was still in line as it took forever, he said they only helped 1 person at a time even though there were 2 employees there and they cut very slow, I couldn't imagine on a busy night how long it would have taken. He said the meats were flavorless and cold and the rice pilaf (which I did try) was also flavorless and hard. Having to pay $20 per person would be fine if the food was good but having to pay that for my kids who literally only got 2 slices of pizza and a couple desserts that they didn't eat was way too much. I went because I missed Silver Dollar and was looking for something just like it but it wasn't. The sliced beef that I tried with mashed potatoes and gravy was excellent!! The gravy is to die for!! Compliments to the chef! The turkey and the rest of the meats were also good. I am a gravy person and theirs is the best I have tasted. Definitely going back! The hospitality was outstanding! The staff went above and beyond. They personally asked my kids what kind of pizza they wanted and even let them know when it was ready. The chef stopped by our table and was incredibly friendly. The pastrami sandwich is a must try! My husband was just in New York and ate at Katz's, and this pastrami was better. The ambience at night is beautiful. I know when people hear 'buffet' they get nervous, but that is not the case here. It feels upper class without the upper class prices. I agree with previous reviewer. I know that they recently opened and sometimes things aren't ready, but they didn't even have some basics handled. Save your money, you don't get value for what you pay. Salad bar was poorly maintained. No food labels on what was in the serving bowls. We were told the labels were being ordered. The serving tongs are too small and were often in the food bowls - disgusting's. Salad bar was not being monitored and refreshed as offerings ran low. For example, melon tray had grapes, cantaloupe and unripen watermelon. When we first arrived the tray was full and nicely laid out. Within an hour the cantaloupe was gone and the grapes were floating in water, the tongs were also in the tray and no one picked it up to clear away. We ordered coffee and waited and waited. Person finally came by and asked what we wanted drink and we said we had ordered coffee - she told us they don't have coffee, ok then ice tea is fine. 20 minutes later someone came by and said you ordered coffee why do you have ice tea? WHAT!!! We told the waitress we were told there was no coffee...oh, we will put a pot on for you!!! We had to ask for a refill on the coffee which was so strong we had to dilute it. Two soup containers - only one soup. Second soup came out about an hour later - and no soup ladle to serve it. Wait and waited - finally a ladle. Dessert ran out, very plain, poor selection and not freshly made. Brownies were dry, pudding in a cup used artificial whipped cream and tasted like hospital pudding. Yes, we did stay 1.5 hours - primarily observing. Beverage not included: Total bill $70 (which included tip and coffees). If it were good - we would not mind the price, but it was not a good value for the price. We know the cost of everything has gone up and will continue to go up and we recognize that opening a new restaurant can be risky, but if you are going to do it do it right and make sure you pay attention to the details. Offer a good product and you will get repeat customers. We asked several customers what they thought and they agreed - they will not come back. We will not be coming back. read more
