Very good food salsa is good and drinks are good, service is usually alright but it will depend on who you get

I go for the strawberry frozen margaritas- top shelf for best effect. I think they're the best and I'm lucky because I live w/in walking distance and can get all drunked up with them and be quite happy. I also get queso, which is fine (how do you screw that up?) and ceviche. It's probably my favorite place to go as a Georgetown resident, for the items listed above. Can't comment on meat-eater dishes. Service on the patio ranges from "Excellent!" to "Are you kidding me?" but the 'ritas are worth it either way. read more

*Bland salsa!!! But spicy for white people or if you lack taste buds* Tasty Tex-Mex. The mole enchiladas, (pronounced moh-leh not "Molly") and tortilla soup are delicious. The salsa is weak and it's not even remotely spicy. My guess is if they made the salsa taste good and spicy like it's supposed to be the majority of Dos Salsas patrons would complain and have the "I need to speak to a manager attitude". However the service is great, can't blame the employees for bland salsa. The salsa tastes like a can of crushed tomatoes that have been garnished with lime, cilantro and onion. Dos Salsas is always busy. Always. When I came here Friday night at 9:15, there was still a short wait. I like Dos Salsas food. It is always fresh and comes out fairly quickly. Is it as delicious as Morelia Grill in Round Rock? No. But everything I have ordered is pretty good. On Friday, I got Bryan's salad. It was heaping with lots of ingredients that normally don't coexist on the same salad including: beans, rice, avocado, candied pecans, cheese, chicken, and a few I forgot. It was pretty good-- like always. The water here has a funky taste that I haven't experienced at other Georgetown restaurants. read more

The food was good here. We were seated in the outdoor seating area that was covered so we didn't feel the wind in the cold. We had complimentary chips and salsa in the first 10 minutes. I ordered a meal with one tostadas, one hard taco, guacamole salad and queso for $7.99. It was delicious and filling for the price. They refilled our drinks, chips and salsa often. If I could give zero stars, I would do just that. This place used to be my favorite until I encountered an ALLERGIC REACTION after receiving onions in my food in which I'm severely allergic to. After speaking to the manager who apologized for his mistake AND took ownership, he advised me to contact their insurance who got the owner involved due to there being medical bills that needed to be covered. I'm completely disgusted by the owners lack of leadership and management capabilities. He said he would NOT be covering these bills so now I'm forced to take an alternate route. Love love this place. Their shrimp tacos are amazing and we were so excited to go back after not having been in for a while. We were welcomed as soon as we got in but after that it went downhill. The server made us feel like we were an inconvenience the entire time. I had asked for a Pepsi and water with lime she brought out lemons so my husband asked again for limes and she brought out lemons with an attitude. We ordered our meal and a kids meal for our son. I asked for two sides of chipotle ranch I got one. I had asked again and she brought out the chipotle sauce without the ranch so then I asked for a small side of ranch. We then asked for to go boxes I specified we needed two and asked for a small side of their sauce to go. She brought out one to go box and an empty container without sauce I had to ask again and received the same attitude we got throughout the visit. It was the most awful service we've ever received there and the place was not busy. The most awful thing about this visit was that we didn't feel welcome and instead felt as if we were an inconvenience. This place is just ok... But it is probably one of the top 3 best Mexican joints in Georgetown. We like the new Dos Salsas in Cedar Parkmych better but this place is way closer to us. It's always busy.. The patio area is nice if you can get a table there. The restaurant is very crowded and tiny. The service is great! Margaritas and Mexican Martinis are good and strong! I've been coming to dos salsas for almost 10 years now and I have tried almost everything in the menu. One of my favorites are the Puerco in verde, pork slow simmered in a tomatillo sauce, served with rice and flour tortillas. It's under appetizers but don't be fooled, this bowl of pork stew is enough to warm you on the coldest day and full you up for hours. My other favorite, is their lunch special chicken tortilla soup with flautas,served with rice, pico salad, and chipotle sauce for dipping. The cheese and tortilla strips are served on the side, so you can make sure every bite is full of melty cheese and crispy tortilla strips. Large chunks of chicken and large slices of veggies make this soup feel like a meal, but just in case you have the perfectly filled flautas to enjoy or take home. We visited dos salsas last Saturday during the lunch rush, prepared to wait for a while. To our surprise we were seated almost immediately and our waitress was quick and attentive. Last tip: order the supremo margarita. You'll only need two to get you feelin some type of way. read more

Had heard that this was the original Dos Salsas and therefore was the best out of their other locations. We decided to give it a try. My wife and I each had the Flautas - one beef and one chicken - which were really good - very fresh and flavorful. Chips and Salsa was really good. Both salsas (Green and traditional red) have a flavorful kick. If you don't like your salsa spicy you might steer clear - I really enjoyed them both. Our waitress (wish I could remember her name) was very attentive and friendly. Note: Obvious that this was a favorite place for locals in Georgetown as it filled up pretty quickly. We just beat the rush and managed to land an outdoor table at 5:00 on a Friday night with no wait, score! We also managed to find a place to park in the tiny nightmarish lot, double score! Our waitress was super prompt, immediately bringing us water and chips with the namesake dos salsas. The red salsa had just the right amount of heat for me, not uncomfortable spice, but just enough to let you know that it's there. The green salsa is almost sweet. I didn't care for it but my dining companion did. I ordered a "Coronita" which was new for me, basically a small Corona tipped over into frozen margarita. It's $5.99 well worth it - delicious! I must have seen servers carrying 20+ of these drinks to and fro while we ate, so I'd say it's safe to assume that everyone else loves the Coronita too. Try one! We had beef fajitas and Steak Monterrey. Both came on huge platters, a very generous helping of food! The fajitas came standard with onions and peppers and a full assortment of fixings (pico, guac, sour cream, cheese, lettuce.) This is worth noting because at rival, La Playa, your fajitas come only with grilled onions and you can only pick 2 fixings, which I find weird and stingy. Anyway, the beef was very tender but could use a little more seasoning. The tortillas were extremely soft and fresh! The Monterrey Steak had the same comments - very tender and good quality, but needs more seasoning. I understand with the amount of seniors in G'town that many restaurants may be afraid to spice it up, but if I'm going to do the calories, I want the flavor! Please start seasoning, restaurants! The food isn't mindblowing, by any means, but it's good. Having tried both a house margarita on the rocks, and the frozen Coronita, I say the drinks are better at Dos Salsa than La Playa, plus the food is $1-2 cheaper here, and the consensus in my party is that the Dos Salsa food is superior too. Plus, I appreciate the comfortable outdoor patio at Dos Salsas. This is a good spot for a casual dinner with good food and drinks. We'll definitely be back. read more

My family and I eat here often. It's our go-to spot for when we feel like going out. I've probably eaten here twenty or so times and have rarely been disappointed. I typically get their chicken fajita tacos. The meat is always tender and tasty and the portions large enough so I'm full when I'm finished. It should be noted that their salsa can be up and down. I've been sometimes where it was very mild and other times where it has had a noticeable kick to it. I'm not sure if they're just not careful with how much spice they put in or what, but it's not very consistent. The service has always been friendly and helpful; I've never had a problem with a waiter. The decor is very typical of this kind of restaurant and is nothing to write home about. And as has been mentioned, the parking can be a huge problem. There just isn't much space in their parking lot so you usually have to park a little bit away from the restaurant. Dos Salsas won't blow you away with their food but is a great place to have a nice, comfortable dinner with your family. It's a great casual dining experience. read more

Starting off, we had to wait a while for a table. While waiting other families were coming in and beings seared. I finally asked and they said they just realized we hasn't been seated, so that wasn't ideal. When we sat it got worse. Our server (Christin) did her best, but had absolutely no help in our section. I will say that she took care if us as good as possible, but her section was packed and she had to do it all. So things took longer than normal. The food was the saving grace. I had the Carnitas Relleno, and it was fantastic. I'd give this place another shot in hopes that overall service would be better next time. read more

A quick scan of the other reviews will mirror my feelings on the matter: need better parking, to handle the crowds better, its not authentic mexican its TexMex, and service varies. In my experience, its so far however its the best place to eat in town. Its not too expensive, food is good, and service is what you'd expect. Here's how to handle getting food here: 1. Find a server you like and ask for him or her by name. This may mean you have to wait longer but its worth it and you'll get better service. 2. Go during the somewhat off-times. 5-7 p.m. is no good. 3. Order smaller plates in a variety so you can find what you like. The Spinach, Cheese, and Mushroom enchiladas are like a dollar extra but are amazing. read more

Great food, great drinks (Mexican Martini is amazing), comfortable atmosphere, and friendly staff. Parking can be a challenge, but you will need to walk a bit after eating because you will be super full. Mole enchiladas are super, a must try. This is my new favorite Mexican restaurant. read more

The food was average as was the margarita. The hair that I found in my salsa after I had been sharing it with my daughter was a nice touch though. We were brought a new bowl of salsa but I didn't see how it could possibly live up to the deliciousness of the previous bowl, so I obviously didn't try it. The hair salsa blew me away so much I'm not sure we would go back because I can't imagine it getting much better than that. read more

I'm actually really surprised after reading the other reviews on Dos Salsas! I've been dining here for a few years and have never been disappointed in the food! The majority of the servers are very skilled and awesome. Having worked in the service industry, I'm probably a little more understanding when they're busy with a full section during dinner rush.
