At 4:45 (kinda early for dinner) the patio was empty, which prompted us to stop. While sitting there a good number of people -- NOBODY wearing masks -- showed up to dine inside. An employee came out to deliver food to a woman at the curb. They were face-to-face, neither wearing masks. If you think I'm overly cautious, please note that there were 4,000 new cases of Covid in Atlanta on Friday, as well as big numbers the rest of the week. Anyway, our server came out -- yes! wearing a mask! -- and dinner was as good as I've come to expect here. The chips were crisp and the salsa much better than their former bland and soupy dip. I like that we each got our own ramekin, another measure against COVID. Fajitas for two (enough for four) were delicious. The platter was laden with chicken, shrimp, chorizo and carnitas. We asked for extra carnitas in lieu of the steak which is normally part of the mix. We washed dinner down with a half pitcher of frozen margaritas. The margaritas were frosty and potent, but not as fruity as I like. Each branch of El Jinete has its own subtleties. I think this one does the best job with fajitas.
