Lunch enchiladas, on a Saturday, $6.50. Get outta here. Who in Dallas serves a full plate of food for under $7? Excellent, again, as were the margaritas. They catered our wedding and we have been loyal ever since. They're margaritas are solid. I like their specialties menu the best.

My wife and I were in town for a conference and wanted to get away from the hotel. We found this place. It was good food. We are from Los Angeles and it was different than the mexican food that we normally get in Los Angeles. I would call it tex-mex, but others might not. I had the Mexicano enchiladas or something, and my wife had some enchiladas with green sauce and sausage on it. Both were good. The chips and salsa were also tasty. Our waiter was nice attentive. Came to Frankie's on the recommendation from a co-worker. Left Frankie's disappointed with my co-worker. Pros: Tasty margaritas. Good sopapillas. Decent decor and not too noisy. Cons: Mole was the worst I've ever had. Not inedible, but tasted nothing like Mole. The fajitas were also subpar. Service was slow and when our server did appear, our table felt rushed. The avocados in the guacamole weren't very ripe, and I'm quite certain the only ingredient was avocado -- lacked salt and lime. Wanted to find a new Mexican restaurant to enjoy, but this just didn't do it for me. It appears to have a strong following, so maybe I caught them on an off night. read more

We went to dinner at 4:00 on a Sunday, meaning it wasn't Busy. My husband ordered a beer and never got it, I asked for water refill and never got it. So service was petty poor especially since it wasn't busy. The food was okay. Not my favorite salsa and the guac didn't taste fresh. With my first visit, I was very pleased to find out they would customise my meal. I wanted a blackened chicken breast and it wasn't on the menu. The waiters must be trained to say, "We can do that for you." I trusted him and was very pleased with my dish. Frankie's is our go to Mexican Cuisine now. It is rare to find great food, great service, and reasonable prices in one place. Don't judge this book by it's cover. We had driven by Frankie's many times, without realizing it was a restaurant. After several friends began to ask us if we had tried them, we stopped by one week night. Our friends were right. Frankie's is great. So drive on past your other restaurant choices and head to Sachse's "Frankie's Mexican Cuisine". Every time we go, they are more busy than the last time. Word is getting around :)) read more

The service here was super slow. We ordered drinks and it took 20 minutes for them. Then to get food ordered took another 25 min. The only positive review I could say is that they still have a similar menu as the old restaurant, Frankie's. Sad to see that it has changed management and staff; most of them weren't wearing masks either, and if they were their nose wasn't covered. Tuesdays nights is the place to be when you are carving enchiladas and Mexican food. Why you might ask? On Tuesday after 6PM they have enchiladas for $5.50!!! Which is such a steal because they are usually $9.25. I've only ever come on Tuesdays so I haven't had a chance to try anything new. The waiters are really sweet people and its obviously comes with chips and salsa which is pretty tasty but does have a small kick to it. They do come with complementary tostadas but you have to ask which is kind of silly. The boyfriend and both get the Verde enchiladas made with green chillies it comes with 3 enchiladas served with rice and beans. There is something special about there rice and beans because I eat it overtime I go there and I typically never eat the rice and beans at any other place I go. It's so flavorful. Not sure why I don't come here more often as I live in the adjacent neighborhood. I have been here about three times since they opened this location and two have been within the last couple of months. I love the tilapia, could care less for the wine caper sauce but forget to ask them to leave it off. Most recently tried a Mexican enchilada a la carte, good lord this was delicious! 4.5 stars from me. Near perfection. The food was fantastic. Nice size portion. I had the brisket tacos. The meat was very tender, fresh cilantro . Heck, even the refried beans and Mexican rice were great. The coke in my drink was flat. That was the only problem I had with the entire meal. My waiter was very patient with us, and no one's drink was ever neglected. The chips and fresh guacamole were excellent. The chips tasted fresh. They were hot. Gave the impression of being freshly made. The hot sauce was good. The spicier of the two hot sauces was the best I've had in a long time. All in all it was a great time. We love this local restaurant! Their menu has so many good staples but also some items that you won't find on a menu at either other Mexican restaurant. I specifically love their chicken enchiladas with tomatillo sauce, and my husband loves the taquitos. This is our new favorite mexican restaurant. We came on new years eve for lunch, the weather is great and we sat on the patio with our 7 month old and dog. My husband is a huge salsa fan and I don't really like it, but we were both obsessed with the salsa here. A little heat, lots of cilantro and blended really well. We had great service the entire time even though we were the only ones on the patio most of the time, tons of refills on our ice teas, salsa and chips. I had the brisket tacos and my husband the calamari tacos. We were both so happy, everything was perfect, even the baby ate a ton. We will be back to try more dishes and some margaritas. read more

Oh this place is to for different style of Mexican food. It is not El Felnix by any means, the food here is to enjoy with a Mojito, or top shelf margaretta. Was visiting from Chicago over memorial day weekend. Went in there after reading the reviews on yelp. Service: Very friendly, and with smile Ambiance: Liked it, Mexican style. Food: ordered tacos and got two in one entree, and they customized for us, as I am a vegetarian and my wife is non-vegetarian. So they made one with beans/rice and one with chicken. We also ordered guacamole, it was fresh but they dint prepare in front of us, I thought that they would :( We tried three different Mexican restaurants on our trip and found this one to be the best among those three. What can I say, I was a skeptic. A Mexican restaurant that incorporated the name "Frankie" in the title definitely had me worried. First off you take note of the camo looking booths & a band in the corner playing country music, but once you are seated and munching on chips and salsa, "Frankie's" starts to feel like a place where you can get some decent Mexican food and go country-western dancing amidst the other tables. Not sure how or why this place got 4 stars. After seeing the outstanding reviews and four stars on Yelp we decided to have dinner there last night. My 1st impression of the ambience was positive, but that was short lived. Our table was sticky from either not being cleaned from a previous guest or it was cleaned by a dirty rag. The complementary chips and salsa was standard, not bad, but I don't think it was homemade. We ordered the chicken mole and the chicken/beef combo fajita. The portions and the price were perfect. Unfortunately the flavor was lacking across the board. Starting with the mole, which has a chili/Mexican chocolate base, the dish lacked the sweetness and the spice of a true mole. What we had was something that looked perfectly like a mole but was missing everything that embraces the flavors of mole. It was extremely bland and the chicken was tough and chewy. For the fajita, the experience was the same. When they 1st brought it out it had all the bells& whistles of hot delicious, sizzling fajitas. But as soon as we took a bite the disappointment started to set in. 1st was the zero flavor as if someone had a fear of salt and pepper. As far as the tenderness the beef was outstanding, it melted in your mouth, but the chicken had the texture of rubber as if it was cooked in the microwave. On the positive side the corn tortillas were excellent. I personally will never go back since I can better flavors and quality from a Mexican tv dinner. read more

I'm gonna give this place a solid "decent." It's hard to come by *bad* Tex-Mex in DFW, but this place is not knock your socks off either. It's straight down the middle. Good chips and salsa.
