No, it's not dead center of St. Moritz, but its 100m from trains and buses, and the small distance affords it a slower pace.

We were welcomed into a small, quiet family-run restaurant serving wonderful home-made ravioli with a choice of fillings meat, spinach, vegetables and different sauces (we both chose mushroom). Generous portions and delicious. The staff gave us a tour of the premises before we left they have a separate lovely restaurant for the evening and a hidden steep wooden staircase the whole building dating back almost 400 years. Unexpected and a real pleasure. Samedan is a bit off the beaten track but there is a frequent bus service to and from St. Moritz.

However, my husband's Chateau Briond (or something like that) was very tender. We had a bottle of Swiss local red wine called Maienfeld, 2011 and it was actually very very good! Being no wine expert and am unable to describe the bouquet of smells of wines on the noes (or however you term these in winology...) I would say the wine was dry, not too sweet nor fruity, woody (?? as opposed to smoky??). Anyway I would recommend!

My boyfriend and I both ordered the kleine Frühstück with 2 Spiegeleier. The small breakfast comes with 2 choices of bread (we chose 2 gipfeli) and a choice of coffee/espresso or Milchkaffee. The gipfeli were very good so if you do come for a visit I suggest getting these. My boyfriend also liked his fresh squeezed orange juice. Depending on how you like your eggs, because maybe some like this...the eggs were cooked at a too high temperature and were hard underneath; although luckily still somewhat liquid in the middle. Big sized butters served with the gipfeli (a plus!) but only cheap foil Hero brand jams. The milchkaffee was a bitter coffee with burned milk. If any of you are cappuccino/latte connoisseurs you will know what I mean ;) When the milk is heated too much it destroys the creamy taste and the coffee is bitter.
