Breakfast is barely outdone by the extravagant dinner options, after 2 days here I'm still not sure what my favorite meal was!

I've never had this combination before, but it was quite delicious with the fresh greens on the side and delightful, creamy sour cream. I LOVE sour cream, yum! I tried a bit of my bf's Rösti Chesa al Parc with cheese, prosciutto crudo, and fried egg. It was quite heavy but also delicious, with the strong scent of cheese. Kind of reminded me of Raclette or fondue cheese. Definitely filling and warm for the tummy on a cold winter's day. Other tables around us had a variety of sausages and cheese fondue, and the outdoor seating seemed quite filled up, so I think this place is pretty good for Swiss specialties in an idyllic setting.

The staff gave us a tour of the premises before we left they have a separate lovely restaurant for the evening and a hidden steep wooden staircase the whole building dating back almost 400 years. Unexpected and a real pleasure. Samedan is a bit off the beaten track but there is a frequent bus service to and from St. Moritz.

I believe most rooms have a knockout view with french doors to let in the clean fresh air and the sound of the rushing stream outside. And the patio has gorgeous panoramic views. The rooms are clean, quiet, and spacious, though it was a but tight between the desk and the bed. There were plenty of modern wood storage drawers and cabinets. A coffee and tea station and minibar with waters, sodas, and juice though we didn't use them. It did not appear there was a charge. The bartenders are friendly and they make inspired cocktails. I tried the Moscow mule and instead of ginger beer, he diced fresh ginger into it. Delicious! There's a beautiful breakfast buffet with a choice of more than half a dozen honeys. Wines and bubblies are well stocked. Only draft blonde and amber beers. A luxurious pool that I did not get to try, and lovely grounds surrounding the hotel. They catered to families too with a playground and kids program during high seasons. There was a small hike from the train station but i believe you coukd use their transport van. The hotel isn't nearly as fancy as the Cresta Palace, but it doesn't try to be. They even gave us an extra room for 20CHF/night when they saw that my group consisted of 3 adults. The best part about this hotel is definitely the restaurant. The food is on the pricey side, but is definitely worth the extra money. The menu has a wide variety, but specializes in the local cuisine. If you don't speak German or Italian (the only languages on the menu) just pick out something because it is guaranteed to be delicious.
