A lovely and cosy place done up in the traditional Swiss alpine style, complete with the prerequisite stuffed mountain deer heads of various sizes, yet with enough modern fixtures of stylish rugs draped over the floor and the window sills, silver and glass candle holders filled with teddy bears of all things! and other various decorative items to render the place - chic.
The food was surprisingly good. I say surprisingly because it is in the middle of nowhere, past the airstrip of Samedan airport, next to the camping site! But the service was warm (out waitress from Italy was a little haughty if truth be told) and the food was fresh and nice.
I gave the establishment 3 stars because of the location and whilst the pizza I had was good, it was not astoundingly delicious. However, my husband's Chateau Briond (or something like that) was very tender.
We had a bottle of Swiss local red wine called Maienfeld, 2011 and it was actually very very good! Being no wine expert and am unable to describe the bouquet of smells of wines on the noes (or however you term these in winology...) I would say the wine was dry, not too sweet nor fruity, woody (?? as opposed to smoky??). Anyway I would recommend! read more
