The manager responded and suggested I bring the car in for a possible free fix. I did bring it in. An estimate was done as well as a temporary no-charge fix. First let me say that I have been a Dorschel customer for over 10 years, including 2 new car purchases, all my service, and two other good experiences at the body shop with extensive repairs on different cars. However, my current experience with a windshield replacement gets 1 star. I had a crack in the windshield, which Dorschel replaced. The rearview mirror fell off the windshield right after I drove out of the shop. Brought it back immediately, and was told it was a defective windshield. It took two days to replace the entire windshield again. 72 hours later, the same thing happened, the rearview mirror mount completely separated from the windshield. I had not even touched the mirror. A second defective windshield seems unlikely. I am hoping this can be resolved quickly, with quality work. read more

My experience with Dorschel Collision was poor at best, encompassing failure to accurately quote, shoddy repair work, lack of oversight by managers, lies, and above all, incredibly insulting attitude and excuses rather than a desire to make it right. My vehicle was in a front-end collision. I drove it to Dorschel, as they are the recommended shop by my insurance company. I signed paperwork authorizing them to start the repair once the adjuster looked at the vehicle. That Friday, the adjuster went through it, and Dorschel provided a quote, including a lead time of 6 days. I was told work was starting immediately. 10 business days later, I returned from my trip (Monday) and got a ride to Dorschel's facility, expecting the repairs to be complete. They weren't. No explanation as to why they were late. On Tuesday night, I got a call saying it was ready to pick up, so I left work and drove to Dorschel. It was clear that both the new bumper and fender had very bad paint runs. The bumper also had a spot that looked like after painting, an angle grinder was dropped on it - a flat spot where the paint and primer were ground through, showing bare metal. There were sections of the new body panels that had dirt or other debris under the paint causing raised bumps. Certainly not a quality finish (and the vehicle in question is only 3 years old). Two plastic pieces that are part of the grill assembly had broken clips and were loosely flapping. He agreed that it was unacceptable, but also said that he had personally inspected it and must have thought the paint runs were water after it came out of the car wash (apparently, they don't believe in drying the car to prevent water spots). I left the vehicle for further repair. About a week later, I got a call saying it was ready. I was out of town but asked him to personally inspect the repair job and make sure it was something he'd be happy with if he were paying for it. He immediately assured me I'd be happy and it's all done 'to the book.' When I got back, the car was pulled out. The bumper wasn't aligned properly. It was nearly a full inch off on the passenger side. I photographed this and requested the service manager come out and take a look. He claimed this could be fixed in 15 minutes by loosening and adjusting the bumper, so I let him have at it. Sure enough, 15 minutes later and it was aligned properly. However, there was a new crease at the edge of the sheet metal that wasn't there before. It looked as though a tow hook was connected to the bumper and winched into place. I pressed him on how it was repaired, and he told me how there were a few bolts that were loosened, and it was allowed to 'pop' right back into place. He told me he was there. I asked about the crease, and he told me it was supposed to be there. I then showed him the photo of that exact spot 20 minutes before, when it was misaligned and there was no crease. The story quickly changed to 'my guys must have pulled it out with a hook or something, probably when I turned my back.' He told me to bring it back later in the week and he'd have a new bumper installed when it came in. I got the commitment in writing, of course. When I got home, I was looking at the interior and found a piece of molded plastic that had holes poked through it and pry marks, (SRS Airbag), as if someone had tried to remove the piece of plastic. When I dropped it off he insisted that it needed to be pried out to get to a screw behind it; there was no way to do it without mutilating that spot. After pressing him on quality repair, he agreed that he would talk to the insurance adjuster and get them to authorize replacement. I went home and opened the factory service manual. In the procedure to remove this piece, with a visual illustration, it states that this is molded plastic and is not possible to remove. There are no screws behind it. It did have very detailed instructions on how to remove the panel. When I picked it up about a week later, I asked to see the part. He 'couldn't find it', so I told him I'd wait, as I was fed up at this point. I asked him to show me how it was removed, and he pointed to it and said it comes out. We looked at the back, and he realized I'd called him on his ignorance and failure of his team to follow the service manual. I insisted that I did not want my insurance company billed for this (the cost of repair directly impacts rate adjustments in the future). He came back and said that 'old plastic is brittle and sometimes just cracks.' Well, if his guys didn't go at it with a screw driver, it would have been fine!!! He stormed off saying he wouldn't charge and slammed the door as he walked away. The rest of the car looked okay at this point. Not an outstanding paint job, and not even up to par with the factory paint, but good enough, and I was sick of dealing with these guys, especially Sebastian and his poor attitude and zero attention to quality. This place is an absolute joke! My sunroof broke by something hitting it from a construction vehicle. The woman I spoke to never followed up with me so I was constantly calling to ask the status. Finally she said- that's a big job- at least a week. She seemed irritated that they'd be getting business. After calling again after a few more days passed- she said the same thing- a big job and at least a week- then she said "we don't even want to do it". Sorry to have inconvenienced you. Wasted three full weeks going back and forth with them. After SEVERAL hours I got a referral to Robbs Glass in Warsaw: they finished the job in THREE HOURS! Not sure what Dorschel was planning on doing with my vehicle for a week. Definitely worth the drive to Robbs Glass. Dorschel Collision your glass rep was way off. I'd give zero stars if that was an option. read more

I picked up my car yesterday after three weeks of intensive care at Dorschel Collision. Someone hit me right before I left for home on spring break and the tow guy recommended them. My initial diagnosis: damaged ball joint, slightly bent frame, and bodywork. My car was inoperable. Service was prompt and friendly and they gave me a ride home. Under normal circumstances, I could have picked up my rental car on site (I opted not to bc I was leaving for a week) They worked with the insurance company to get an evaluation and initial estimate scheduled even though I wouldn't be there in person. From there, they took care of everything and made sure I was kept updated. Seriously, they called me whenever anything new and important came up. Sure, it took them three weeks to finish, but my car had been pretty banged up - I had been certain the insurance company was going to just have it totaled. The most important thing was that they had been consistent with their service for the entire three weeks. My initial thoughts on the repair are that while there are a few new sounds I'll have to get used to, they did a solid job and if I have any questions, I'll feel comfortable contacting them. If I have to go back for a tuneup on the work they did, I'll let you guys know! Otherwise, I'm an extremely happy camper! *Note, I'm not a car expert by any means but I'm also not a prissy little girl who doesn't know anything about cars. My dad made sure I could do things like change the oil, spark plugs, air filters, brake fluid, etc. and always showed me how to go about diagnosing problems. Of course Dorschel didn't know any of this about me. I am absolutely 100% certain that they did not take advantage of me. read more

My windshield was hit by a pebble on the highway, causing what looked like a hole. Karen was extremely helpful on the phone, discussing my options. And though she ordered a replacement windshield while we spoke on the phone, she assessed that it required only a simple repair when I arrived for my appointment the next day. Not an issue!She was terrific! It was fixed in minutes while we waited and it is barely noticeable. We will be using Dorschel as our go to repair/service center starting now. read more

Dorschel has lost a customer today. I came into simply have a protective under panel looked at to give me an evaluation of what it would cost to fix or replace. It took 2+ hrs for my car to be seen. I understand and approve of taking care of scheduled customers first, but for a simple "take a look at" situation this is excessive. I was then told that it would cost about 50$ to take the damaged plastic shield off and if I didn't have the panel removed, I would still be charged for "diagnostics and labor". Seriously, to have someone take a quick look under my car is going to cost me 30+ dollars(guesstimate based on going labor rates)? nope. I have had other dealerships and auto repairs shops give a free "take a quick look"; even it was to tell me that they can't give me a good opinion without putting it up on the lift. So guess what Dorschell, you have lost a customer. read more

They make the car repair process as painless as possible and even feature an on-site Enterprise location to assist with car rental needs. I have experienced a couple communication issues with the front desk employees, which is why I'm giving them 4 stars instead of 5. I brought my car to Dorschel Collision Center because my insurance company recommended. They totally messed up my car. They couldn't finished repair on time which they promised, they spilled oil on the carpet (no apologies), they didn't fix the headlight (they said they did their best), and they left some kind of stains (smoky paints) on my driver side door. A bad experience. I wouldn't recommend Dorschel Collision Center. read more

***Beware*** Like to be ripped off, constantly have to check with them each time they say they will contact you but never do, and then get back your car and it's not even fixed? You found the right place! Gave this shop two last chances but after the second... never again. Worst experience ever!!! Most recently brought the car in because of front end damage. Brought the car in at 7:30am and they said they would get in touch after they look at the car. I tell the technician specifically that I am paying out of pocket and this is not going through insurance, so I only want what is required to make the car driveable and no cosmetic repairs. The technician said they won't be able to know what else is damaged besides the bumper until they get it hoisted up. Fine, that's reasonable. A day and a half goes by and not a word from them. So I call them and find out that the radiator and AC needs to be repaired and he will send me a written estimate of the cost. I get the estimate and on it included a replacement of a wheel and wheel cover?!? I told the technician that the slight dent in the rim was a pre-existing damage and as long as the tire doesn't leak air, why does it need to be replaced. He said he knew and will take it off the estimate. I reminded him that I only need what needs to be fixed to get the car back on the road. He mentions that business has been slow. What the heck!?!? To fix the AC he said that I would need to replace the AC hose which is expensive ($700). At this point, the estimate to get the car back on the road with AC was manageable. Any more and I'd most likely not fix it and buy a used car or something. After a week, I finally get my car back. Drive the car home and find out that the AC doesn't even work and had to bring the car back again. Wouldn't it be reasonable that they test the AC before they gave it back to me??? After all, that is what they were fixing! The first time I had brought my car to fix the steering alignment and when I got the car back, the alignment wasn't fixed either! This place is a joke and a huge waste of time and money. Anyway, back to the AC issue. The technician said that they think it might be the AC compressor... they would need to run a diagnostic and would cover the cost of that for my inconvenience. They seriously think that not charging me for the diagnostic is a consolation for the inconvenience of having to take time off work to bring my car back yet again to fix something that I already paid to get fixed? After the diagnostic, they determined that I had to replace the AC compressor which would cost another $1000. $1000!!! So what they are really saying is "hey the $700 we charged you to fix the AC didn't work, so you will need to pay $1000 more to really fix it this time". I don't have another $1000! Had I known that it was going to be $1700 I wouldn't have spent the other $700 in the first place. I asked for the manager of the shop to give me a call but never received any response. Worst customer service ever!!! Don't take your car here even if you are going through insurance. Nothing but headaches and incompetence. read more

Had my car towed here and stood at the counter for five minutes listening to two of the girls behind it talking about their weekend to each other before even being taken care of. Tow truck driver asked if the bill could be paid by them for the tow and the girl was rude and had an attitude. She told him not if they were not on the venders list. Took over 25 minutes to clear this up before was taken care of. Not happy with the way I was treated by the staff that checks you in. Would not return as a result of the service. Would have only given one star but car looked good but service was bad. read more

Did a great job fixing the crappy repair done by another repair shop. Already had a relationship with my insurance company (Allstate) so it was very smooth. Dropped car off on a Friday and it was ready the following Wednesday for me. Their glass guy was out of town but they had another company come by and they vouched for them and the windshield looks great (other repair shop put in a chipped windshield and tried to tell me I just have chipped it on the way out of the parking lot). Manager was friendly a nice and went over all the repairs and changes with me when I picked up the car. read more

HAD $ 4200.00 damage to the back end of my rogue. Took it to Dorschel because i heard good things about them, Picked up my car and the job they did was excellent. The paint work was great and all the parts put on lined up perfect. Not only did they do a great job they also got it back to me two days sooner than expected. Nice to see some people still take pride in their work. Once again my car looks like new thanks to them. read more

Worst experience I've had with a repair center yet. My car was rear-ended, geico sent me to dorchel. Sebastian quoted me at a week and a half, which I already knew was not going to happen. After two weeks, I called for a status update as they seriously never called me once. They said they were waiting on a part, which is understandable. I don't mind waiting as long as everything gets done correctly. After two more weeks, I called again, to see how it was going. He said tomorrow or the next day for sure. Didn't hear from him until 2 days later. Said I could pick it up on Friday anytime after 9. So I made the trip over on my lunch break from work, asked for my car, they said they would drive it right around for me, perfect! I waited 20 minutes, then went back inside to ask where my car was. Sebastian went to go check, came back in 5 minutes, said they were finishing cleaning it up. Hmm I thought "done" meant it was "done"? Oh well. I waited 45 more minutes. Now I am suspicious, I go back up to the counter and tell them I'm on my lunch break and I'm already late and now can't eat lunch. Sebastian disappears again, this time he never comes back. I ask the secretary (who was nice) what should I do. I need my car, I'm late for work, I have no lunch, and I have no idea where Sebastian is. She is nice enough to call him on her cell phone and ask what is going on. Then the truth comes out, a bolt is loose on my muffler, 10 more minutes to finish. No way. At this point I have to leave, I'm already late. So in reality, they called me saying it was done, but it wasn't. And he lied right to my face when he said they were "cleaning" it and it would be right around. I do NOT trust Sebastian, and the fact that they are just finding out problems when I am picking it up, means they have NO QUALITY CONTROL. Great. When I'm driving down the highway and parts start falling off, I'll have to come back and deal with this all over again. I WONT be back. Highly recommend you avoid any place that will lie directly to your face. Also, when I picked up my car, they handed me a "How was our service" review sheet to sign, but all of the boxes were already checked for me.. couldn't even complain if I wanted to. read more
