Derek, the salesman on the floor, is exceptional. He was very knowledgeable about every vehicle we asked to look at and was instant with numbers and results. He wasn't pushy at all which made us feel at ease buying, however, ended up going to Buffalo for a vehicle due to what options they had. Next time I'm looking for a vehicle or if anyone in my family is, we will check first with Derek! Definitely someone you want to keep around. Service was exceptional as well. i would definitely not recommend this business. Even 1 star is too much. There are no words for the experience I had there. There is no transparency only fog. I brought my car there in early September for a collision repair and picked my vehicle up in November. Not even 20 miles out of the shop my car was smoking and leaking when i returned it back to the shop I was told the transmission line had a hole in it from the radiator pushing the pulley into the line from the accident . The line was replaced. When I came back a few days later to pick up the car the engine light was on I was told it was on because of the transmission being serviced and the light was reset. Once again the car came to a complete stop on the interstate and was towed back to th shop not even 2 hours later this time because the line popped off because the clip was no good ,{ the clips the body shop just replaced} the transmission fluid once again leaked out causing the car to stop.That was replaced and not even 10 miles later the car came to another complete halt and for the second time was towed back to the shop and this time was taking to service, the collision department "fixed" it the other times which I was unaware of , when I asked why service was not the one to fix it the other 2 times I was told because they are capable of fixing it in collision. Well as this story continues I now have a broken drive shaft not a rusted drive shaft like they told me the drive shaft was busted in half, i am sure the transmission and the shop dragging my car into the bay didnt help it. At this time I had my car fixed somewhere else I did not want them touching it. After that was fixed the transmission was still not right so once again to Cortese because they are the ones dealing with transmission to have my fluid. checked because it leaking again. I have no records of what exactly was done to my vehicle there are no service records other then the initial collision repair. When I asked for documents on what was done the numerous times my transmission was serviced i was told there where none So at this time it is my word against therm. What I do know is 4 months later my car is not the same and the transmission is messed up. I did bring this up to Mr. Cortese who stood by his mechanics and made excuses as for the reason my transmission is not right. read more

I took my vehicle in for an oil change and tore rotation. It was dropped off at 12:55 for a 1:00 pm appointment. At 2:30 I contacted the service manager asking if it was almost done. At this time I found out that my vehicle had not been serviced yet and that a staff member accidentally brought my keys home. Long story short, I did not pick up my vehicle until 6 pm. My original appointment was at 1:00 pm not to mention they could not figure out how to run the promotional bulk package for Oil changes. I will not be going back to this location. read more

Brought my Jeep Wrangler in and was having a problem with the clutch pedal coming apart while driving. Since I was young I was really nervous about this and decided to bring it to a Jeep dealership. I drove the Jeep there with a zip tie holding the clutch pedal together. A few hours later they call me and tell me they fixed the issue and that it's ready to be picked up. Driving home I noticed it still felt weird so I check and sure enough it's still zip tied together which means they did not fix anything but still charged me over $500. Barley drove it back and not only was I not reimbursed whatsoever, but I still had to pay $100 for labor for their mistake. Would not recommend this place unless you want to be ignored and disrespected even when it comes to the safety of your vehicle. read more

Josh has been very nice and patient with my situation and anxiety, he could always return my emails at a timely manner. I appreciate that. However, thanks to the "nice" line operator I spoke with in immediate assistant department yesterday, my entire experience interacting with the store is totally ruined. I was trying to keep track of the status of the payment, since the manager informed me that they sent the check through mail. I made a lot of phone calls, emailing, even asked my boyfriend and his father to help me follow-up with this. Nevertheless, everybody have their own life. And I got to take care of my own issues by myself even though when I'm oversea. I made a lot of phone calls, the first recipient has always been nice and quick to transfer me to another end, but the person I spoke with was very rude. She said to me "what do you want?" When I was just checking with her to see if this is the office of the manager. I don't know if things would be different if my English is more native like, but her attitude is certainly not helping with my current issue. During the conversation with her, she interrupted me without knowing exactly what my specific situation is by only repeating that it would take two weeks for the check to arrive. Before I could respond, she hung up the phone. Oh thanks for the information. I attempted to call back after she hung up my phone for the first time, expecting that I can get someone more professional, nicer, and less biased based on my accent than her. Unfortunately it was still her. And again, without any surprise, she hung up the phone by merely saying that the check will take two weeks to get there. Before I could say anything back or ask any question. I do believe most of the staff in the store is helpful, caring, and respectful. And that they want to provide every customer either seller or buyer with the best experience. Yet, I found this woman to be extremely disturbing, condescending, and has the suspicion of being ignorance over someone who act or behave foreign. Thanks to her, I could only rate my experience with one star. I am not spending dollars on making international phone calls for these stupid prejudice against my accent or identity. read more

It started out as a good experience. Managers worked with me to make the sale, lowered interest rate a percent or two. The second they think you might not buy, or they're attempts to rush your purchase don't work, all courtesy goes out the window. Jeff called me liar when I told him he didn't give me the receipt then stalled when going to retrieve my deposit (Mind you I got my refund w/out needing a receipt so I'm not sure why he got so upset). Let the door close on me after asking me to follow him to sign for the return of my deposit then just stood silently over me with an attitude. This place is an absolute joke. Customer service doesn't exist in this so-called dealership. My roommate's friend tried to purchase a used 2012 Charger while trading-in his 06 Impala and they undervalued the car by around $2,000. The Kelly Blue Book specified the trade-in value at around $8,000 with the car being in good condition.The car has minor scratches and it only has 34k miles. In addition, the Impala is fully loaded. This was not the only time I had a bad experience with Cortese. I wouldn't buy a car from them. read more

I bring my car in for a recall and the door to be fixed and the assholes didn't tell me they were going to fix the recall and just look at the door. Then I get a call saying the recall is done but I have to make an appointment with the body shop to fix the door. I had to wait almost 2 weeks for this appointment and now I have to wait longer. If I had known what could have happened I'd have made a body shop appointment for the same day. Do the assholes think that I have all day to monkey around with the car? Then the assholes say I need tie rods. I didn't bring it in for them to inspect the car for needed repairs. In fact a reputable mechanic said it was fine and would pass inspection in February. Hmmm. This was my first time working with Cortese and the experience was outstanding. Our salesperson, Anna, was wonderful. We learned that she has worked for Cortese for more than 20 years, and that is testament to both her great service and professionalism, and the quality of the Cortese company. The pre-owned Jeep we bought as our son's first vehicle is beautiful -- like new -- and was very competitively priced compared to any identical vehicle we looked at. I have no doubt that we got a fair deal for an immaculate car. The process was fast and completely pleasant, and Anna even came in on her day off -- right before leaving for vacation, no less -- to personally hand over the keys. We're extremely satisfied (and I am obsessively picky about customer service), and would absolutely buy from Cortese again. read more

I was immediately impressed with the hospitality and casual yet professional approach by Nick the sales representative. I was then introduced to Josh the sales manager who is a class act. He tested my vehicle, gave me a fair quote and had a seasoned, friendly way of letting me know this was the place for me. I moved on to 2 other local dealerships and was turned off on all fronts. After I drove off the lot at Cortese Dodge in Rochester, NY the Sales department refused to communicate with me. The salesman promised to fix all of the minor issues, most of them under warranty, before I drove off. Unfortunately he never came through on any of the promises he made. Messages left for the President of the company (Just call me, John Cortese with any problems!!) were also not returned. So, once you leave the lot here, don't expect any service whatsoever. Over two weeks for the salesman to schedule a service appointment, because he was sick, then he was busy with end of the month, then he was the only one on the sales floor, then he just doesn't know how to use a phone I guess. An endless supply of excuses. Met with his Manager on saturday because he's going to 'take care of me'. Went over the car completely. Was there for 2 hours and got my overdue first oil change. They also scraped factory paint off front wheels because wheels were not sitting properly - causing a clicking noise in reverse. Before I leave he tells me he will call me 10:30 am this Monday with an appointment for warranty service. Monday at 4:15 pm I call him and he doesn't know who I am at first, then he tells me he was supposed to call me by 10:30. But jokingly, he never apologizes. Instead he gives me excuses and tells me he has been at his desk for "8,500 hours and it's the end of the month". Then he tells me he will call me back in 15 minutes. 2 hours later, [U]I call him again[/U] and he tells me I can drop it off the next night. No way in hell I'm I ever going back to Cortese Dodge. Went to Vision Dodge and got set up with the Sales Manager and Service Manager. The whole atmosphere was Professional from the moment I walked onto the sales floor to every one I passed in the Service Dept. Night and Day compared to the lack of enthusiasm and unprofessional manner every where you look at Cortese. Most of the issues are under warranty, so no $$ problems for me. Shame on Cortese Dodge for such horrible Customer Service. It was disgusting the way I was treated after purchasing a 2011 RT classic, and making every effort to clearly communicate to them what they needed to do to make it right. They need to grow up over there. You'll get better treatment from the kids at McDonalds, and fries!! This was the readers digest version too. Too disgusted to go into further detail.
