The food was okay but the service was nice. The Happy hour drinks are good, strong though not high end liquor.

Fried cauliflower with curry yogurt and BBQ almonds. I was blown away how good this was. Spicy and delicious!

Delicious food, great happy hour 4-6pm, wonderful service. I was amazed at how attentive the staff was. They all helped reach other out, whoever was busy everyone jumped in. We loved the St Ambroise Rousse beer on tap, but also enjoyed gin and tonics on happy hour. But we went back 3x during our stay in Quebec because of the food!! Every dish was delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant

Frites and beer

The service was outstanding! I was seated by the window overlooking the center of town as it rained. The beer was called Espace Publique a nice citrusy, crisp IPA made in Montreal. The fries were old and cold but had a good flavor.

D'Orsay is a charming two-story restaurant in the old city of Quebec City. Lots of beautiful woodwork and a warm, inviting atmosphere set the stage for a nice dining experience. Menus are multi-lingual and the place is a little touristy. We were seated upstairs, with minimal wait. The place is a little on the loud side, but not so much that it diminishes conversation. Service was attentive and despite the large number of guests, the staff handled it all well. No complaints there. The food was also good. I had the French Onion soup, which was one of the best French Onion soups I've had anywhere. A great amount of umami flavor, and I loved the extra of green scallions diced on top. The lobster poutine was a good poutine, but I'm also now convinced that lobster should not be used for poutine. While the dish was well-executed and satisfying, it's hard to get a typical poutine gravy to cooperate with the flavor of something like lobster. So somehow it didn't work for me but I don't fault the restaurant for that at all. Definitely a nice place to dine, especially for something in the touristy part of town.

Paella for 1 person

The waitress was so friendly. All the staff that were working the upstairs crowd for lunch Saturday May 11. I wasn't sure which cocktail to have and her suggestion for me was on point. It was so good. The Casis Rumble I think was the name, it was very good. My mom had the white sangria, I really liked that too. Great cocktails!! We came here for the Paella. It comes in two sizes we chose to get the smaller for one person, the seafood chowder bowl, and the poutine. For us the Paella was the best we ever had because the rice wasn't dry. Please keep in mind we aren't connoisseurs of Paella but for us we very much enjoyed it. We noticed there were chunks of tomatoes rather than a tomato sauce. Then sausage flavor wasn't over powering like American sausages we are used to eating. It didn't over power the dish. Plenty of mussels and shrimp. The chicken was grilled and not cooked with it. That was delicious. I loved the artichokes in the paella, that was a pleasant surprise. The seafood chapter had shrimp, scallops, salmon and mussels. The chowder wasn't thick like I'm familiar with but it was ok. It tasted delicious. The picture doesn't do the seafood chowder justice. It looks like there's only two mussels. There is seafood in there.

Moule Frites w Blanche de Chambly pints

Stopped in for happy hour out on the terrace. Enjoyed moule frites and pints of Blanche de Chambly. Service was friendly but slow. Outside seating was nice.

Mussels and fries. Enough for a meal for two or appetizers for four.

A lively pub atmosphere with great food and good prices. They have a surprisingly nice wine selection. We went for drinks and went back the next night for appetizers and drinks during their Happy Hour 4-6 pm.

Great bar! Enjoyed some cocktails and beer at D'Orsay before heading out to dinner. Female bartender was really friendly and make a great cocktail. Also tried the lobster poutine which was pretty good! Unfortunately we went back for a second time did not have the friendliest greeting (standing where it said to wait to be seated and then acted like we were in the way) nor the friendliest server who never checked on us (we always had to wave her down) and the cocktails weren't as good. Bummer!

Mac N Cheese

Rich in food. Very rich. Super rich. The food is delicious, but if you eat it too fast your stomach will give you the finger and force it all through your intestinal tract, and you will be in the bathroom for 25 minutes pondering where you went wrong in life. There is a reason I refused to eat all the Mac n Cheese laid out in front of me. It beautiful and tasted great, but knew from my first three bites I would never make it back to my hotel, so I planned not to eat the whole thing. The fish tacos are good but are real dense. These are no San Diego fish tacos either, those are real deal filled. These fill more or less like a shared appetizer, adding no real substance or character to the restaurant. They felt out of place. Maybe add in some cheese to them and I would be a bit more forgiving. I did like the 1920's vibe in there. I love history, and anything turn of the century always feels special no matter what it is. So as long as your stomach is not acting like the Roaring Twenties.

We just stopped by here in the afternoon for a drink and we loved it. The service was great and they have a large menu of beer wine and cocktails. Of course I had the April Spritz!

Soupe à l'oignon Gratinée aux quatre fromages- French onion soup
Ben L.

This place was super casual and looks like a fun pub with some tasty eats. Some friends and I came here looking for lunch and we were looking for some mussel pots. The food: Soupe à l'oignon Gratinée aux quatre fromages- The French Onion Soup was great. I really enjoyed the flavor of the four cheeses and I loved the texture and pull of the cheese. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=S8LkUmtyB6hf2VwF6CvmNw&userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA Moules et Frites- So I shared three different pots with my friends and the mussels themselves were delicious. They were nice and plump and cooked perfectly. For me, going in I thought the classic cream would have been the top flavor but shockingly the blue cheese pot was the tops. The blue cheese pot really added a ton of flavor that paired nicely with the mussels. After the blue cheese then I liked the cream then Provencal. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=6ZDi26ulDtUxl4u_UxG4Ng&userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA

Buddha bowl with chicken

I love the ambiance here-the music, the wood and stone inside, and the dramatic windows thrown open that allow me to people watch, with a view of church rooftops. Mostly, I appreciate how friendly the staff is. I'm dairy-free...challenging with French cuisine. But they checked the ingredients and I got my first choice of drink (Bramble Cassis) and meal (Buddha Bowl with chicken). My waitress checked with the kitchen and even brought me the bottle of cassis to show me when I worried about the word "crème" needlessly. Very patient and understanding. While I was waiting for a table to open up the hostess invited me to sit at a bar and brought me water-it was a hot day and appreciated. So kind!! The food was also delicious...would order the same thing again...but everything else combined to make the experience so special on my first night in Quebec.

Q-de-Sac - Cesar salad

Q-de-Sac

3.5/5, +.5 for service…read more This was my family's last stop in Quebec City before driving back to Montreal. Q-de-Sac is a restaurant in Old Quebec (lower town) that's more of a bar setting. They have some Quebec staples like poutine and foie gras, and a selection of 10" pizzas available. We came here for lunch and each had a French onion soup. I had a Shack's Poutine by myself, while my mom and dad shared a beef cheek pizza. The French onion soup was a bit salty. I find it intriguing that multiple establishments in Quebec City kept mentioning their onion soups as the "best in town", including this one. This one was good, but I'd give Chez Boulay the crown from all the places I tried. The poutine, on the other hand, was excellent. Will never say no to plentiful cheese curds, and I don't mind foie gras at all. My parents enjoyed the beef cheek pizza, particularly highlighting the BBQ sauce and the smoked beef cheeks. Service was excellent. We arrived around 11:30am and there was one other table taken, but by the time we left around 1pm there was a lineup. Personally I would come back here.

Dined here on a quiet, cold night. It was easy to walk in to get bar seating but recommended to…read moremake reservations in advance if possible. Had a delicious, warm French onion soup that was loaded with cheese. Partner and I split a poutine with foie gras. Very filling meal perfect for a cold night in Quebec City!

We tried to go next door to La Girole but they couldn't accommodate us with out reservations. Glad…read morewe couldn't go. Those bistropub is a delight. The best goat meat burger ever. Succulent and juicy. Fantastic real french fried potatoes. Extensive beer and micro brew list and also a full bar and wines by the bottle. Very fun ambiance with an old school student like feel. Took me back. Not expensive for excellent quality food. Lep is a wonderful server and deserves a bigger shoutout. Close to Laval University and not touristy. Enjoyed the experience.

Le Sacrement has so much potential(!!!), but totally misses the mark. I don't know what happened…read moresince the previous yelpers ate here, but a four star review this is not: Ok, so as I understand it a bistropub is supposed to focus on good food and good drinks... Right? Well, at Le Sacrement that's not quite the case; the beer list is extensive, but the food sucks. There's also something about a sticky table that doesn't quite say "bistro dining". DO NOT order a burger here - it tastes like shoe leather and I would be shocked to learn it wasn't frozen and premade by a wholesaler. My boyfriend literally said, "if I wanted to eat a burnt burger from Costco, I could have done it at home". The people next to us had the ribs and the salmon tartar - the ribs were also probably ordered in from a wholesaler (they looked so dry and sticky) and the tartar plate was measly for the price charged. To be blunt, I won't be coming back and would recommend you don't waste your hard-earned money here either - unless you're in need of a few pints and a meatpuck before heading to the rink behind the restaurant.
