4.6- had to give this place 5 stars to offset the other reviews. This is a cute place with great food. Max was our server and he was wonderful. We had poutine with beef and cheese fondue with beer. Everything was delicious and we told him we were a bit worried with the Yelp rating. He said that they have real chefs here that know how to cook. We were glad we went! We were here for a couple days on a recent cruise. Loved the city! After a long day of walking we needed a beer! Stopped here and the sweetest hostess sat us. We ordered a couple excellent beers. We felt bad as we weren't eating so apologized to our server. He was so nice and friendly. Told us to relax and enjoy! Nice outdoor patio right by the cruise port. Right by the umbrella street! Also a view of Hotel Frontenac. The food we saw going to other tables looked good. read more

We tried to eat here yesterday, close to our hotel, rating was very high, but probably my first time where I felt not welcomed. We were brought to our table but our server did not want to serve us. Literally gave us water and did not come back. I was thinking maybe they were busy but there was empty booths. I don't know the reason except we said thank you in English.... We were very hungry, visiting for Hit the Floor Quebec dance competition, and we waited for service and wanted to try their menu but never given the chance too. Leisurely lunch, casual atmosphere and great service. I got a delicious steak with an amazing sauce and a small salad on top. I always thought it was weird when contestants on fancy cooking shows would serve food this way, but it was delicious! I was wrong and admit it. Wow! This place was packed and worth the wait. A great atmosphere with a lot of different dining and drinking options. The patio was closed, but will try it out next time I am in town as it looked very nice. The beer selection was good as it was not all IPAs. I had a few Chipie Pale Ales. It was smooth with a nice finish. For dinner it was a nicely portioned beef. Very tender with some veggies and hot the spot. read more

I was visiting from the US and staying in one of the small towns along the river. Archibald's was recommended. It was a great day to go there because the weather had turned cold and rainy. The perfect day to go to a warm and cozy restaurant with dark wood, Buffalo plaid booths and antler chandeliers. The menu was interesting. However, as always, if I see flank steak I have to order it. It was a little pricey, but with the conversion rate pretty comparable to a similar place in the states. There were plenty of items that were less expensive as well. It was delicious, as were the twice baked potato and the salad. I swear the salads in Quebec are the best! I need to google a salad dressing recipe. We were staying at a nearby hotel and found this restaurant on Yelp with good reviews of beer. Well, my plan was to have a beer and a salad. We arrived at 4:30pm on a Thursday to eat. The restaurant was empty. The hostess said we have a table UNTIL 6pm. Go figure why we could eat in an empty restaurant for a limited time. When we got the menu, the salad offering were extremely limited and the prices were ridiculous. $20 for a salad--come on is this reality. We got up and left before the server came to take an order. We found another sports bar nearby that was fantastic with many salad choices and a wide range of beer choices. So if you want your choice of beer--you can go to Archibald's. But be prepared to pay a lot for dinner. Glad I bailed on this restaurant. read more

If I could give no stars I would. To start out with the table was cleaned after we sat down. Waitress although accommodating was not very familiar with the food. I wanted my burger medium rare was told I could not get it medium rare they wouldn't cook it any less than medium. My burger came and it was a well-done hockey puck, slathered in mayonnaise. I would've been better off going to Whitecastle. This had to be one of the worst meals I have ever had in my life. Noise level in the restaurant was absolutely deafening . My dinner companion and I could barely hear each other speak. I will never return and I would never recommend this restaurant. read more

My hosts took me to this micorbrewery/restaurant because I was looking for awesome craft beer locations. This was defiantly awesome. This place was so popular that I had to park a little far away. The place was packed. It took us over an hour to get a seat but we were able to enjoy ourselves drinking their delicious beer selection. I tried La Veuve Noire (Black Widow) and also the famous La Valkyrie. The La Veuve Noire was very creamy and had a very nice stable head that reminded me of an ice cream float (practically was with only 3.5% alcohol content). The Valkryie was a bock type beer that was very delicious. My hosts told me that it's a seasonal beer and that they don't always have it on tap. If they do this would be my first beer to get again. They have a dozen other beers that I wish I would have been able to try. For dinner I got the penne with wild boar and duck. It was good but a little rich for my tastes. We also had their fried ice cream which was very good. If you are in the area make sure this is a place that you try especially if you like beer. read more

Definitely one the best places I've ever eaten. Had the duck and it was amazing. My boyfriend ordered the ribs, and they were extremely tender. It is also some of the best beer I've ever tasted in my entire life. Would definitely go back. read more
