Actually what they did was give me three of our best years together by accurately diagnosing his physical state for the first time in the 12 years that I'd owned him. It was a miracle. I thought I was calling her three years ago to put him down, and what happened instead was that we found out why he was sick. And they tenderly helped me care for him in his final time on this planet. They are compassionate, knowledgeable, and genuinely seem to care. It was important for me that he died at home so that the other two pets could know that he was gone to assist in their grieving. Dr.Pasek and Ray patiently and intuitively held space for me to find the right time. I highly recommend this team of professionals, not only professionals, but friends.

Dr. Pasek comes to your home for veterinary care, eliminating the difficulty and stress of schelping senior dogs to the animal clinic. At almost 16 years old, Scout's health was declining as she started to have a lot of medical issues that are common for older dogs. It became nearly impossible to transport her to our Vet's office. Scout weighed in at 60 pounds, she could barely see or hear and was so stressed when in the car. Thank God for Dr. Pasek who could examine and treat Scout in the comfort of our home. Over the past few months, Dr. Pasek advised us on how to assess Scout's Quality of Life and when to determine the 'right' time to let her go. She and her staff were kind, caring, professional and patient making this difficult time more manageable. When the time came to end our darling Scout's life, Dr. Pasek and her staff provided a beautiful ending to a beautiful life. In our serene backyard where Scout frolicked her whole life, she was put to 'sleep' surrounded with love and then taken away for Aquamation. Afterwards, Dr. Pasek presented us with a book she wrote about grieving for your pet. It was well-written, heart-felt and offered great constructive advice on coping with the loss of a pet. The next day, a single rose arrived on our doorstep in memory of Scout's passing from Dr. Pasek. We highly recommend her services. Dr. Pasek is a top-notch vet and a really nice person. It might be a little pricey, but worth it as she helped us get through this traumatic fact of life...or rather death. Arlene and Dennis H. Ventura, CA

In addition, the price was well over $900 and that was the start. They also kept highlighting extractions and I was not ready for that! It was basically over $1000k! I called several places and they were all around teh same price. I found this wonderful place and it was easy to make an appointment and the staff were friendly and treated my cats with respect. This place was fair on the price and they explained everything from start to finish. We also got a chance to get a nice meal while waiting down the street. It's not located right on Main Street, but right before you hit Main Street, depending on what direction you're coming from. The parking lot is small, but I could find parking easily. Appointments are scheduled weeks out; therefore, arrive on time to avoid losing your spot! A family came late with their two dogs, and Smiling Canines tried to squeeze them between other dogs' appointment times, but it was a hassle for both the family and business. After I filled out and signed some paperwork, the staff immediately took my little dog in to have his teeth cleaned. The whole appointment lasted maybe 30 minutes. They also have a small store pet you can look in while you wait for your dog; otherwise, you can stay in your car or sit in a chair outside. The lady who greeted me was kind, professional, and efficient. The prices are around $185 - $250, depending on what type of cleaning your dog needs. Unfortunately, I paid $250 because I had not kept on my dog's teeth, and he had a lot of tartar buildup. So he will need to come back in another six months for another cleaning, and my good boy deserves the best. Thank you, Smiling Canines, for vastly improving my dog's teeth - and breath!

On December 1, 2025, my pup looked at me, and I knew it was time. Our family had called upon Dr…read more Gonzalez before, so there was no question in my mind who to call again. Unlike our previous experience where we were able to book ahead of time and plan for our pup's passing, this was a circumstance where our baby needed immediate services -- his body was failing. Once I saw our senior 13-yr old pup was telling me it was okay, I called Dr. Gonzalez at 7pm. She was at our home by 10pm. Our pup had been sick for several years, and in that last week, our primary vet had already told us his health was declining, so we at least knew the end was near. And I had already mentally prepared to be strong and let him go when he needed to -- so I had Dr. Gonzalez's number on hand. We live in an apartment building, so we reserved a spot for her in our lot as close as possible to an exit. She came upstairs to our home, and she had brought all her equipment. I had already imagined how I wanted this experience to go for my once in a lifetime soul pup. I sat on his favorite place on the sofa, and I had him in my lap. Dr. Gonzalez gave me a pee pad to wrap around him within the blanket understanding there could be an accident in the process as his body released his spirit. I had a candle lit. I had soft music playing. We had low lighting on to honor what was about to happen. Dr. Gonzalez was also super accommodating to our 2nd puppy who was curious about her and wondering what was happening to his big brother. She didn't shoo him away -- she invited us to keep the puppy around so he can know his big brother was about to pass on. She gave us time to speak to Nuxx, love on him, and then let him go. Then, it finally happened. And Dr. Gonzalez stepped out of our apartment for awhile, giving our little family time to grieve, sob, and hold our baby close. Our puppy sniffed him too and said his goodbyes. Then she came back, and she asked us if we wanted to be the ones to carry him out or she was happy to do so. My husband carried him, myself and our puppy followed along -- felt like a procession down our apartment hallway. We got to Dr. Gonzalez's car, and we gently placed our baby's body in her car, and said our goodbyes again. Then...it was done. Throughout the experience, Dr. Gonzalez was so incredibly supportive, gentle, understanding, and patient. What else can you ask for when such a heartbreaking thing is occurring? When a spirit is literally fading in your arms? I am still not over losing him, but at least I know we gave him the most peaceful send-off we could: in his own home, in our arms, surrounded by so much love. If / when we need to go through again, I will continue to call on Dr. Gonzalez. RIP Nuxx.
