We stayed here in February and loved the hotel.
It may be more business orientated but its facilites and standards are fabulous and the location is great.
The Dorint is just over the river from the DOM and is about a 15 minute walk over the pedestrian bridge to the back of the cathedral with lovely views across the Rhine.
However there is the train station 5 minutes walk away from the hotel which you have to pass to go over the pedestianised bridge with trains going into the centre and to all other destinations in Germany.
There is also a convenient tram stop right outside the door of the hotel and this we used most, the trams are frequent and run late into the night so there was never any problem getting back to the hotel.
Our room was lovely, spacious and had a real extra bed for our daughter, not a temporary affair. The bathrooms was gleaming had a fantastic shower and lovely fluffy towels and lots of nice shampoos etc.
The mini bar was also well stocked and the filter coffee maker was a joy in our room.
The room had a safe and plenty of storage and a good sized tv and a phone. The furnishings are good quality and the rooms are lovely.
Breakfast are amazing, everything you could want and they keep it stocked up with fresh items continually.
The pool and spa facilities are absolutely fantastic and look stunning, all black tiles in the pool with sparkles in them and stainless steel fountains.
I must admit my daughter was a bit shocked and very giggly at the naked businessmen however, so do be aware of they go au naturele. They seemed to stay more in the jacuzzi and stream room areas and as we were mainly in the pool it didnt worry us too much.
The staff are really friendly and helpful , the rooms clean and quiet, the location is excellent given the ease of getting about so we would definately go back to this hotel. read more
