PERFECT stay at the Hyatt! My husband and I were visiting 3 cities in Germany and Cologne was first on our itinerary. Due to weather, our flights and trains were all delayed and we arrived about 3 hours after our original plan. We were greeted with a stunning lobby and a very warm welcome from Anika. Anika - THANK YOU for all that you did to make our stay in Cologne absolutely perfect. You were attentive, helpful, super kind and warm, and professional. She is really a gem to the Hyatt and we are so very grateful that she was our first encounter of our hotel. She remained dedicated and helpful throughout our stay, even brining me up a key when I had left mine in the room! We received a room with the most perfect view of the bridge and the Dom Cathedral, it really took our breaths away when we entered our rooms. The room and bathroom was beautifully designed, was large, and really perfect. It was also so nice to find a bottle of champagne for us to help celebrate our anniversary. Our level had a complimentary breakfast buffet with the most amazing green juice drink that I am convinced was the cure for me to not having any jet lag or issue with time difference. I enjoyed one every morning. The Hyatt is in the ideal location. It is walking distance from the town center - just a quick one across the bridge and you will have access to absolutely everything. Everyone we encountered from the concierge, the 2 great bartenders at the bar and the staff at the morning buffet were so sweet and so helpful that it really exceeded any service I have received at any other hotel worldwide. The hotel has very reasonable rates and you really get every penny worth during your stay. Thank you Hyatt Cologne - we will surely be visiting Cologne again and will only be staying with the Hyatt.

Classy cocktail hour in the VIP lounge

Best hotel in Cologne. The night view of the Cologne Dom and Rhein is spectacular. Brunch is great- much more impressive than brunch in American Hyatt hotels, and I loved the detailed decor. Customer service is excellent. The cocktail hour on the VIP floor had a good selection of drinks, appetizers, and desserts. The pool is underwhelming; I would not call it 5-star. Rooms and bathrooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. Would definitely recommend this hotel for tourists.

Informative staff, clean rooms and great location. If you can get a window view of the skyline across the river. Stayed a couple nights during christmas market season. Hotel far enough away from the markets to avoid crowds but close enough to easily transition to the festivities. Check in and out was easy and walk to the train station was without issue. Recommend staying.

Nice ... Thank you Hyatt Regency Cologne

Famous Köln Dom was right there! Other old buildings also. Because of thick doors and well insulated long windows, couldn't hear any noises from outside. We slept sans curtains! Breakfast was super good. All kinds of German goods which I missed so much. Fresh Brötchen or dark German bread, salami, schinken, etc. all there! Famous Heumarkt was walking distance. We enjoyed last Weihnachtsmarkt there with super hot Glühwein! Other part of the cities Weihnachtsmarkt were closed. I still remember the early morning's church bell sounds. It was not loud. It was not bothering like alarm sound. In an unknown city unfamiliar hotel bed you woke up by the church bell sounds. Through the long huge windows you see grey cloud thick sky.. yeah you are in Germany.

For instance, I'm allergic to feathers and fragrances so housekeeping provides synthetic bedding and uses natural cleaning supplies. It also helps to be a Hilton Diamond member because there are perks, like view upgrades of the dome, and free breakfast. A few times I've enjoyed the split level condo suite with dreamy tub-- for you honeymooners out there, this is the room you want. It's its own castle. Be sure to order breakfast buffet downstairs, and ask for friendly, English-speaking serving host, Polat Dal who is extra helpful for seniors guests and those with mobility challenges. It was very nice to see someone working attentively for guests' comfort. See you soon, Hilton Cologne!

The bartender started asking me personal questions while I sat at the bar and I told him I was waiting for my husband. Yikes can't a lady get a drink alone. Obviously not here, the only plus was the drinks were inexpensive but than if you didn't spend over $20 Euros than you had to pay cash. Seems like they wanted the cash. Also more of our group arrived before we left to go to dinner. They got the same run around so it wasn't limited to me the solo American in the group. We simply could not use the third room - but were, of course, fully charged. That aside, everything else appeared to be a problem, too - Loading our equipment, parking, or any kind of service: my staff and our participants could not even buy a water, let alone a coffee at any time of the day. After a short introduction when we arrived, no service was available at all - and we arrived at 10am and left at 8pm :-( Just to avoid any misunderstanding: we had 50 guests - and none of them could get anything in the entire time of the event. Checking at the reception, we were asked to go and get take-away from a bakery in the area. Sorry - simply not good enough, we will never book this hotel again, let alone recommend holding any kind of event there.

Made for a not pleasant nights sleep. Couch bed was pulled out and made up for our girls when we got there. Yay! Very happily surprised when we walked into that. Hotel had a small ice machine on 0 floor next to the elevator. Inside hotel was clean and quiet. Dennis on desk when we checked in was super helpful and friendly! And this morning when we checked out the Girl was friendly, Kasia I think her name was. Breakfast was a European breakfast which is still taking some getting used to for us Americans. Room temperature ham and cheese, yogurts, a few cold cereals to choose from, croissants, chocolate crosswinds yesterday that were the best! There is a pancake machine in the back corner, the the adjoining room. Hot drink machine, tea bags, 3 juices, 2 milks, and water for the drink options. Hotel doesn't seem to be in the best area but we have definitely stayed in shadier areas. Overall, we were happy. Got a great deal on IHG.com and will keep this hotel in mind when coming back. If driving yourself then it was pretty easy to get to the chocolate museum parking garage which is where we parked for the day. Parking was €10 per night. We paid it up front and then when we left they scanned our ticket so we could leave the parking lot.
