Poor customer service and very costly and confusing Product was poorly handled by customer service

We have had awnings on our house for many decades and the sunbrella material usually lasts about 10 years. We were looking for a new company to work with. I saw Dorchester Awning and read good reviews, so I wrote to them and sent pictures of what we had and what we were looking for. The response was very fast. We selected new material in the online books and even changed the design of the awning over the front door. The job was completed within 5-6 weeks and came out perfectly. Working with Tom as the project lead - communications were excellent. The professional installation crew carefully took down the old awnings and with the same care installed the new ones. I purchased my retractable awning from this company about 10 or 15 years ago. it was family owned and a wonderful company with wonderful service.. In the last coupe of months, I have emailed and called numerous times as I needed the awning replaced and wanted someone to come give me an estimate.. . In one call I spoke to the new owner who was going to contact a sales person. No one has ever called back. I ended up calling another company on the Cape and they came to my house that afternoon and delivered a new awning two weeks later. read more

I have written previous reviews on how fantastic Dorchester Awning truly is. Most people can excel in sales if they have a great product to sell...but the very best stand out with the service they provide. From a sales perspective, I have purchased 3 awnings from Dorchester Awning and have recommended them to many. We could not be happier with our awnings, they provide needed protection in the summer months and make a BIG difference. What amazes me is one in particular that is 11 years old, is the same color as the one I had installed last year. They have not faded whatsoever. From a service perspective, a 10 rating is not enough! From the very beginning Mark and Andrea Lampson have been there to answer questions and on a very rare occasion or two, if needed they would send Mark Langlais (installer) to help troubleshoot. Earlier this year I contacted Andrea about a question and learned Mark and she had sold the company. The new owner, Moosa E. Moosa promptly answered my email and offered to send Mark to our home. Mark, as always was prompt, courteous, helpful...and solved our problem very quickly! I am happy for Andrea and Mark as they are super hard workers and deserve the very best...and I'm grateful they sold the business to a new owner who shares the same values that Andrea and Mark did regarding customer service, means so much. We needed to replace our eighteen year old retractable awning on our rear deck as it was just time to do it. Read reviews and this company outweighs them all. Because we purchased our awning with a popular Sunbrella pattern and shade, it did take awhile because of the pandemic. Every question we had was immediately answered by Andrea herself. I am impressed with my experience and wanted to share! Met Mark and Andrea at The Boston Home Show - thought great product and kept their card as I wanted an awning for my home. Tried desperately to go local and spent 6 months trying to pursue. Emailed Dorchester Awning. The very same day Mark was measuring my home, left samples and quote was back to me within 24 hours! Amazing! Andrea followed up and sent additional sample books. No pressure...just there to assist. Such a comfortable approach. I asked Andrea her opinion on a fabric. She didn't want to make the decision for me yet suggested something. I ultimately chose Andrea's suggestion and couldn't be any happier! Installation was quick and easy.
