This time around on 7/20/2023, he has been kind enough to come all the way from the East Bay to San Francisco to fix my garage door with an off-track roller. After an incredibly hectic workday, in my rush to get to the gym-I bumped my garage door from the inside before it had rolled 100% up. This was a bit of a crisis - wheel of door had come out of the rail and now there was no way to close the garage. I quickly ascertained I was not going to be able to get it back in myself and went on Yelp to check out reviews. Reached Doors on Demand right away and explained the situation. I felt like an idiot but apparently this sort of snafu is not a rare occurrence. He asked if I need them to come tonight and I said 'I hope so" (while imaging how else we would sleep all night if the garage with our bicycles and storage was hanging open?). He warned me that it would be approximately 10pm - which was OK with us. I asked for an estimate of cost - bracing myself for some highway-robbery price due to the same day call, and then he said "about $60." A little bit before 10pm Ryan shows up, replaces the entire wheel as it looks worn, tightens up various bits and helps fix the bottom of the door that got bumped as well. Checked it a bunch of times and everything seemed good as new. Friendly and professional and timely. Paid under $70 and we were satisfied customers. So my garage door spring broke after 17 years. Ryan showed up when he said he would and replaced my single spring for $140 parts and labor. Other places I contacted either quoted prices that were much higher, like 2x higher or they said I needed something I didn't. One guy I called said I definitely would need 2 springs. I sent him a picture of the single broken spring and he didn't reply. Ryan and James got the job done in 30 minutes. Three years warranty on the parts and 60 days on the labor.
