Dear Garage Door Pros, I recently used your service to repair my garage door, and while the overall experience was positive, I encountered an issue that I feel needs to be addressed. The technician who visited was professional, knowledgeable, and completed the job efficiently. I am very satisfied with the quality of the work performed. However, I was misled about the call out fee policy. When I received the quote on-site, I decided to proceed with the repair immediately. Despite this, I was charged a call out fee at the end of the job. The call out fee should be included if the job was accepted, but this was not honoured. It seems that the call fee should only apply if the customer chooses not to proceed with the repair, which was not my case. While I paid the fee at the time, I found this aspect of your promotion to be very misleading. I suggest clarifying your policy to prevent future misunderstandings and ensure customer satisfaction. To be honest I did call my go to company, Heritage Garage Door but they dropped the ball by not showing up when I confirmed an appointment with them and when I tried calling them no answer! I had a barn constructed through SOUTHWEST BUILDING SOLUTIONS (5* rated). I opted to do the door openers independently, because generally there's an up charge for the business to contact and schedule another company etc.. well SBS came out to do their final inspection and I told them about price quotes for the doors. A1 garage wanted 4600, Elite Doors and gates wanted over 5000 and Lodi doors ( through Costco) wanted 3600 ( I mistakenly gave them the wrong door size of 10X14 which they are actually 14X14, so I'm sure it would have cost more), SBS could not believe the quotes and put me in touch with Jaimie here at Door Pros. My quote from them was 1650.00 FOR BOTH DOORS... TOTAL, OUT THE DOOR ... I was ( and still am ) so grateful that there are honest businesses. They were quick, clean, and friendly. I can't say enough good things about this family owned/ operated business. They did the exact same work, same warranty, same guarantee as all three listed above for a HUGE savings of 2000-3500 LESS. The only complaint that I had was that the installer left some debris from the install in my driveway. I first spoke with Jamie on the phone. She was very professional and responsive and got me connected with a technician within 15 minutes. Nicholas showed up at the house and was very nice, efficient and respectful. He explained to me that the hinges had been so rusty that nothing could be done to save them. I had my old and cracking garage door replaced yesterday. It took about 4 hours and the guy was courteous and seemed to know what he was doing. Overall, he did a good install, but It looked like the door wasn't level when he finished. I asked him about it and he said that my floor appears to have settled and the door frame is not square. There was about and 1 inch gap between the floor and weather seal on the bottom of the door on one side. Next morning, with my level, I checked the floor and door frame and found it to be level and completely square, but the door was still misaligned. With my tape measure, I began looking for what was uneven. I found the door track misaligned, and I corrected it, but the door was still high on the east side. I continued to look and discovered that the wire (counterweight) on the west side was loose when the door was all the way up and the wire cable on the east was very tight. Both wire spools are connected to the same shaft, but their tension was VERY uneven. Having some experience with tools, I easily corrected the difference in tension. With the tension now being even on both sides, the door completely closes and appears even and level with the floor and door frame. Additionally: I discovered several of the self starting metal fasteners to have been overly tightened and partially stripped out. At some point they'll need to be replaced with a bolt and nut, because the stripped screws will loosen over time. read more
