We hired Door Pros to install a new garage door about 2 1/2 years ago as part of our home remodel. The initial customer service and installation went perfectly. We were really happy with how things went and how our garage door worked. The problems started soon after. The installer said that someone would be by shortly to replace the old, broken trim to match our new door. No one ever showed up. After a year, I started my follow up. I spoke to a nice woman name Bree in August of '22 who was very helpful - unfortunately, the company kept sending the wrong trim, and she promised to ping me when they finally got it in. I never heard back (maybe she left the company?) , and 3 phone messages and 2 emails last year were never answered. What is up with this company? read more

tl;dr: Dwight is Mr. Door Pros! What's in a name right? Well, Door Pros are surely pros and not some sorry noObs. I live in a house built in 1960 and the dickbutt of a house decided that 2020 was the year to start giving me shit, as if there weren't enough problems going on in the world. This is after I even gave it a makeover by painting it. Freaking ungrateful POS. So this time, my garage door stopped working. At first I thought it was because of an LED light bulb I installed in the garage. But, it turned out to be the garage photo eye sensors. I called LiftMaster and they were going to walk me through the process. When the customer service rep said "get out the wire cutters..." that's when I said oh hell no and hung up. Then I turned to the trusty Yelp app, and searched for "garage door" and it had this option to create a project and get quotes from multiple businesses. It was around 9 PM on Thursday when I made the request and right away Greg from Door Pros sent me a message and we made an appointment for the very next day. My wife was like who are you messaging at this hour? I'm sure Greg's wife was thinking the same thing. LOL. Greg called me on the day of the appointment and asked if he could come early. Well, that's better than late and so he came and took a look, gave me an awesome quote and we scheduled for one of his door doctors to come on Monday to fix the door. So within 2 business days, two pros from Door Pros came to my house and fixed my garage door. That's faster than Amazon Prime deliveries these days! Meanwhile, being old school, I didn't want to leave the other door people that messaged me hanging, so I had to send some sorry messages to the other firms. Early bird, yadda yadda. Today is Monday, and Dwight called 20 minutes before arriving to give me a heads up, and this allowed me to put some clothes on. Y'all know this is the reality of working from home. Anyways, this chill dude with a beard that I could only dream of having, pulls up and went right to work. Let me pause here and say that he wore his mask the entire time like a pro. So Dwight not only replaced the garage door sensors, he re-did the entire wiring, re-aligned and replaced some rollers on my door, re-positioned my wall control panel to make it to code, lubricated the door, told me about the special effects of the door, and talked about some awesome restaurants because Dwight is a foodie. His only kryptonites are spicy food and "chocolate soup". Sound like my weaknesses too! I knew he was a legit foodie when we both agreed on a taco place in Petaluma being the bomb, El Roy's! At the end of the day, Door Pros really did an outstanding job from start to finish. They were up front about everything and were genuine. So if your garage door is giving you problems or you need a new garage door, I highly recommend Door Pros. And trust me, I am not giving 5 stars because Dwight knows where I live. It's because I was really impressed. Now if only I could find an electrician that could be as dependable... My experience with Door Pros was a good one. I'd highly recommend them. My house got butchered by the previous owner, one of the issues being they had installed an undersized second-hand garage door. Door Pros not only provided me the lowest quote for what I wanted, but they also included busting out the lumber the prior owner used to reduce the door opening to the size of the secondhand door they installed. There was only one hiccup in the process: the manufacturer was not coming through on the date promised. Still, Door Pros made it good for me with a balance adjustment which was an honorable thing, which I truly appreciated. All the Door Pros people I had dealings with were very professional and the outcome once the door was installed was exceptional, an overall wonderful experience. If I could give just the Salesperson and installer 5 stars, I would. The salesperson (no longer with the company) was great- he knew his stuff, was patient, and very helpful. The guys installing it were nice, they left the area clean, thoroughly explained all of the operation, and walked me through setting the app up on my phone. I placed my order in April and got an estimated completion date of the end of August- I'm in supply chain, so I completely understood the long lead time It's December and I Just got it installed- I'm not mad at the delay, the problem I had was with their (lack of) customer service for everything in between buying it and getting it installed. Nobody at the company communicated the delay, and it took me a several emails and phone calls to get any information. The booked the install prior to the door actually arriving since it had taken so long, and when I emailed to reconfirm the date three days before (I was rearranging work, so wanted to be sure), I received no email response from the coordinator. I called the office the day before, and finally got ahold of someone that confirmed. If they could properly communicate, they'd be an awesome company. Door looks great though! read more

Ordered doors March 2023. Told approx. 10 week ETA. Didn't receive doors until August 2023. Upon install, 2 of the 3 doors were wrong (incorrect caulking). Returned & received 2 more doors in December 2023 that have scratches but we're not going through the hassle of returning them. Also, cracked metal track on 1 of the 3 doors from initial install. Multiple phone calls & emails to the company to repair/replace the track. To date, no update or call back to resolve the problem. Ridiculous! read more

It is never fun to write a cautionary review of a business, but as I engaged Door Pros based on positive Yelp reviews, I have a duty to warn after this 16 month ordeal, the only aspect of which went smoothly was getting the initial quote from Greg, who departed my driveway with a $2500 deposit on 3 December 2020 within 24 hours of my Internet inquiry. Door Pros consistently overpromised; even worse, the office never contacted me to keep me apprised. The 10 to 12 week lead time for the new garage door turned out to be seven months. The installer was a no-show for the installation scheduled 7 June 2021. (Scott: "I don't know how this happened but I own it"). Vincent, who did the rescheduled installation on 22 June 2021, refused the final payment because one of the panes of glass came cracked; also he had to substitute for the cedar door liner, the flimsy bottom seal was temporary, and the paint was not as agreed. It was not until 14 January 2022 that Brian came out to make the replacements. His assurances that the new painter would be out the next week were optimistic: it was not until today, 29 March 2022, that the painter arrived. I paid the final invoice within minutes of the painter leaving. (Greg gave me a 15% discount on the total for my inconvenience!) I wish I had never heard of Door Pros. Unless you are willing to settle for a place with the kind of customer service that eats you up inside, keep looking! read more

I called in after our decades old Liftmaster broke. The two guys who picked up the phones were knowledgeable, gave me a few options for replacements, and said they could have someone out in two days. Their price was reasonable compared to other shops. The tech (Pablo) that arrived was super professional - he took care of the Liftmaster install, balanced our door, and oiled the rails. Such a pleasure to deal with a business that REALLY knows what they're doing. We recently had someone try to break into our garage. They failed but of course they totally messed up our garage door. It would not open at all. We could not get our cars out! I called Door Pros on the advice of my neighbor across the street, and I'm sure glad that I did. They understood our problem and worked us into their schedule that very same day. Our tech's name was Dwight, and this guy is a garage door wizard. He inspected our door and (much to our relief) said that as messed up as it looked to us, there would be no problem fixing it. Less than an hour later our door was not only fixed, but it was greased and adjusted to perfection. It hasn't worked this smoothly (or quietly) in years. This is now my go-to garage door repair and maintenance choice. They really are Pros-- and on every level. I hired garage pros in 2020 to install garage doors with side mount motors, powder quoted hardware and semi high lift tracks. They promised delivery in 2 months and took entire year to install normal doors after 1 year. The doors were not setup right they said they will setup when they change the high tracks and powder coated hardware in a month. After multiple reminders and calls They showed up After 1 year again the tracks and doors were not compatible to work so they said they will come back to install higher track. After three years I do have one high track one normal track. Both doors still dont open.. i am tired of calling and reminding.. I have a need to use my garage and told them I need to be able to open with the remotes but no response.. this company is a joke. You can for sure find another place to your garage doors. We have a very old 1920's house in Berkeley and the previous "garage door" was barely held together so I've been wanting to replace it ever since moving in. However, the garage opening is narrow and has low height. I need every single inch possible in order to fit my car inside. Door Pros (Greg) was able to give me the tallest and widest installation estimates out of all the companies, and this is not to mention that Greg was also the most responsive and helpful person to talk to. So I decided to go with them, and the project involves the garage door installation and also re-framing the garage opening. Come installation day, Abe comes fully prepared with all the equipment needed for both the installation and re-framing. Worked through all of the pieces of the projects exactly how I wanted it and by the end of the day, I have a beautiful-looking new garage door that actually works! I realllyy wishI could give 5 stars but there have been a multitude of preventable errors during this whole process. Lack of communication, and multiple employees that have not followed through with what they promised. I will say that the installer was very nice. After waiting months for my new door the issues began: -door has panels. One panel had a ding and another panel had a scratch. -through my project manager a sent pictures and requested new panels. I was told they would be ordered -after waiting WEEKS I emailed her and to my surprise, she was no longer with the company. The new project manager stated that the old one had never even submitted the warranty replacement and that she would do it now -I waited WEEKS again and called to inquire and an appt was made -WEEKS later the installer shows up with ONE panel to replace. Mind blowing that after alll the time that has passed Door Pros still could not get it right - I call the project manager and am told that clopay thought the order was for one replacement and to repair the panel with the scratch - this was never discussed or communicated to me! - if that was even remotely true, why did the installer arrive with no way to "repair" the scratch?? When we bought our house, we knew that the garage door was something we wanted to replace with something nicer as soon as possible for a variety of reasons. With the structure of our garage, I was worried that it would be quite an ordeal to get it replaced. We have a very low ceiling, to the point that people are often surprised that our car even fits in the garage. On top of that, we have some rather large soffits that were located right where tracks for a roll-up garage door would probably need to go. Anyways, we finally called and Greg came out to figure out how our situation would work. He took some measurements and then found that we'd have to build out the sides of the garage to get everything to fit just right. I was a little surprised how little it would need to be built out, honestly. We ended up selecting a modern door with frosted glass windows on the side. He gave us a heads-up that it would probably take 20-30 weeks for the door itself to be delivered. That's just how things are these days. The price for the door and the installation was very fair, even with a new fancy smart motor with a camera on it. He mentioned that installation would only take a day. I was also surprised by that. Finally, the day of installation came! They showed up promptly and had the old door removed in less than an hour. Bayron started installing the build-out, and he really did a fantastic job. Our house is old, so he had a lot of inexact angles to deal with. This guy knows what he's doing. In a few hours, the door was installed, and everything was so precise. The seal on the door is perfect. He helped us get a small chip of wood to get a paint match off of. We ended up getting the paint and handling it the same day. All-in-all, we had the door installed and the exterior painted by 5pm. We just wish that we had called earlier! read more

I never knew getting a new garage door would be so EASY! Greg and the whole team made the process completely seamless. Greg personally came by only a couple days after I called to make an appointment, took a look at the old door (literally some old plywood on a manual riser), listened to what I was looking for, and showed me pictures of EXACTLY what was in my head - a classic white style to go with my 1906 farmhouse, with clerestory windows on top that let a lot of light in but were frosted enough to provide security and privacy. He also didn't bat an eye when I wanted wifi accessibility, a keypad lock on the outside so others could get in, a motion-sensored light, a switch at the back door, and 3 FOBs. Apparently that's no big deal in the land of Door Pros! After confirming with some additional photos, he ordered my door. No matter to them that there was a random low beam in my garage, no easily accessible outlet for the door riser, and some weird dips in the flooring making it less than level... They were able to handle it all without problem. A month later, the door had arrived, but the problem was I was re-doing my entire driveway, so not only was the garage not accessible due to wet concrete, but the dimensions of the garage door opening also changed slightly because of the new concrete pour. Again -- no problem for Door Pros. They hung onto my new door for an additional week while the driveway was finished, and slightly modified their framing etc. to accommodate the newly poured and perfectly level floor. Edwin framed out and installed the new door in one day, Greg came by again and suggested some different framing and finishes, and Bayron and Jessie installed that final trim board and re-did some of the framing the next week.
