I have been going to this place for 15 years, and I have yet to be disappointed with the service or the food. The food is amazing first of all, second they have a very low turn over rate of the staff. I enjoy the professionalism of the staff from the bus help to the bartenders. They are all very good at what they do. The food is a great mix of choices from American, Asian, Mexican, Seafood and all of it prepared to perfection! Walking into the restaurant, my friend and I eagerly awaited to eat as our stomachs grumbled from hunger. As we walked through the door, we got abruptly dumped into a lobby with a great deal of people and a frantic host. Getting to even talk to the host about a table took around 10 minutes. After checking in, she got us a table right away. She was very grateful for our patience and kindness, she was just very stressed which was understandable due to her being the only host on. Strolling through the restaurant, I noticed that the atmosphere and ambience was sophisticated but also had a relaxed environment as jazz music played quietly in the background. The lights are dimmed and accompanied by dark brown and maroon tones that decorated the whole restaurant. All of the tables are set with all of the basic utensils and set in an organized order. Once seated, our dining experience only got better. Our waiter came and asked us if we wanted water and if we knew how to download the digital menus right away. The menu was filled with many different culinary works but mainly specializing around their rotisserie chicken. Free bread and butter and water service was given to us. There was a variety of different appetizers, main courses, and desserts to choose from like pear and pecan salad to filet mignon and rotisserie chicken. The restaurant is for all age types and offers options for everyone. Giving us adequate time to figure out what we wanted, the waiter helped us navigate through the menu and we ordered creamy chicken cajun pasta and the rotisserie chicken sandwich with fries, ranch, and ketchup. The food came out within 10 minutes of ordering. The food was steaming on the plates and the smells were delightful. As we both delved into our first bites, the food was exquisite. The chicken was fresh and juicy and the sauce on the sandwich served as a great combo. The fries came out sizzling, seasoned well and crunchy and came with the condiments we ordered. The ranch was homemade and accompanied the fries well and blended all the flavors together. The pasta had a spicy and savory taste to it along with many different colors. Both dishes had a fantastic presentation and added to the taste of the food. The waiter frequently checked in on us while eating and filled up our cups of water. After eating the main course, we waited 10 minutes for the waiter. The bill was not very prompt. After these 10 minutes,  he asked if we needed any boxes or dessert. We ordered the Molten Nirvana with vanilla ice cream which almost came out right away. The cake was decadent and the ice cream balanced out the flavors. The presentation of the dessert was also exceptional and served as a great end to the night. Our waiter gave us the bill and wished us a great rest of the night. Prices are fairly reasonable and represent the taste, quality, and presentation of the food. Our dining experience was top quality with the service being a little slow at some parts of the night as its only downfall. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to eat delectable food, enjoy the warm, inviting atmosphere, average service, and reasonable prices. read more

Walking in from the sunny outdoors, I immediately noticed the other parties waiting inside upon our arrival to Doolittles Woodfire Grill in Eagan, Minnesota. Of those waiting, there was a nice variety amongst us. A family with a young child, a middle aged couple, as well as two teenage girls were waiting. The host greeted each party from behind the host stand in the dimly lit entryway and then made sure they were aware of the wait time. Since we were satisfied with an indoor table, we were taken to our table right away, however a patio option was available to those willing to wait a short while longer. As we were escorted to our table, we passed the wood-fire rotisserie chickens and their savory scent immediately made me hungry with anticipation. Upon being seated at our table, I noticed plastic dividers between each booth, ensuring COVID safety protocol. Shortly after being seated, ice-less water was brought to us without having to request it. The server was friendly and polite as drinks were delivered. He directed us to the online menu which could be found by scanning a barcode, another COVID safety measure. An appropriate amount of time was waited until he returned to take our orders. He once again returned, this time with complimentary rosemary bread and butter. The rosemary added a pop of flavor compared to a standard bread which was appreciated. Keeping the same ambiance as the entrance, the rest of the restaurant had dim lighting with natural light entering through the windows along the outer edge of the dining area. Jazz music was playing in the background, loud enough to be heard but not overpowering and distracting from conversations at the table. The food came out quite quickly, delivered by another staff member which I appreciated because it showed teamwork between the workers. The Cajun Chicken Pasta was delivered hot with a garnish of finely grated cheese and was very neatly displayed in a clean white bowl. The Rotisserie Chicken Sandwich, ordered by my friend, was also served warm with her selected side of fries and additional condiments displayed on the side of the sandwich in a neat fashion, with the condiments in small steel cups. The pasta dish had a wonderful flavor, the Cajun provided a bit of spicy but nothing overwhelming, the chicken was salted just enough, and the onions and bell peppers could still be tasted in each bite. The sandwich, which Doolittles is known for, did not disappoint either. The chicken breast was thick and seasoned well, paired with the homemade sauce, Swiss cheese and lettuce, made for a flavorful experience. We then asked for dessert. Unfortunately, they were out of our first choice of the Mudslide Pie, however the Molten Nirvana was an excellent second choice. The shareable, yet not too large, piece of chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce, was rich but not to the extent where we couldn't finish it. The vanilla complimented the chocolate nicely. Overall, the service was standard for a dining experience on a weeknight. All of the workers were very friendly and welcoming. The conversations weren't extensive as the server allowed us to just enjoy the experience while still making sure we had everything we needed. The food itself was the highlight of the evening with each dish having its own distinct flavor. I definitely enjoyed my experience at Doolittles and will go back and give it 4.5/5 stars. read more

Stopped here because we saw it as we drove by and was starving! So glad we did. Butternut squash soup? Um yes please! So good. Calamari was just right with a great dipping sauce. My husband had steak, cooked perfectly and the green beans had a spicy kick to them. I chose the salmon with new potatoes, spinach and asparagus. Really tasty. After reading some reviews we settled on Doolittle's wood fire grill for dinner on a business trip. The place was packed we end up waiting about 25 minutes to eat on the patio and a gorgeous night. The patio was half full so it seemed odd we had to wait so long, but they said they were understaffed. When they walked us to our table we passed the wood fire rotisserie cooking chicken and right away the aroma will catch you. The menu was diverse but we all went for stuff in the wood fire selection of the menu. I had the ribs and chicken, one person had thehad the hanger steak, and the third person had the chicken. Overall everything was good but the chicken was amazing. The food across the board was 5 stars, the service was slow, but polite and professional. Last night Doolittles has been a favorite of ours for years. (Tuesday, Sept 1st) around 8:00 PM our car had its windows smashed and all of the contents in the vehicle were stolen. The manager did come out to see the damage. He called the police. Police mentioned to me unfortunately there have been other break-ins reported to vehicles at Doolittles. This morning I stopped at an adjacent business in the 2140 building next to Doolittles as they have a security camera on their building to see if possibly they had any surveillance video. They informed me others have been into their office asking the same question recently. Just beware the police said it has been a target as they believe it's easy access to the high way for the perpetrators. I have reported this information to the police. read more

Called and they said they'd send me a little something. Prob for a free app or something. They should have refunded my meal. Spinach was par cooked with raw garlic. Steak was unseasoned and just unappetizing. Potatoes were substituted and plain when menu says butter and parsley. The bread was consistently good tho. Wish I'd gone somewhere else. Super bummed! We found Doolittle's by chance when we were initially just going to make a quick stop at Wendy's. Since we were traveling from out of town, we were happy to see that this place showed up and we turned into the parking lot to have a more enjoyable lunch than a fast food gut bomb. In fact, we enjoyed this place so much that we stopped at it again on our way out of town. Customers have to walk past the scorching hot rotisserie before being seated which only makes you more hungry at the thought and smell of the delicious meat. Even though Doolittle's is on a relatively busy road and their patio is not immune from the traffic noise, they have done some nice landscaping that makes you feel a bit more comfortable on the patio. A decent wine and beer selection accompanies a diverse menu. I had the BBQ chicken salad which comes with black beans and a light creamy dressing. The chicken is fantastically tender and flavorful and I was happy to find that the BBQ was not too overpowering for the salad. The Reuben sandwich is a nice size, and served on a soft, fresh rye bread with just the right proportion of meat and sauerkraut. On the second visit, I was craving pasta so I went with the sicilian spaghetti which had shrimp, bacon, portabello mushrooms and spinach tossed with some roasted tomatoes and balsamic vinegar and topped with cheese crumbles and capers. It was surprisingly bold in flavor and even a good kick of spice. The only thing we weren't as impressed with were the wings appetizer dish - they look delicious but were too heavy on rosemary or some other spice. Almost to the point of being inedible. Overall, great spot, friendly service and flavorful food! Prices are in the $10-$16 range. read more

Boy, is this place ever popular! And I can see why... nice bar & grill restaurants like Doolittle's are normally uncommon to suburbs. During a recent visit the wait for a table was 45 minutes, so my wife and I hung like vultures around the bar. Luckily, five minutes gave way to a couple leaving for their table. The ambiance is much better than other suburban bar & grill restaurants, such as Chili's and Applebee's. The food also blew them out of the water... the artichoke and chicken quesadilla was scrumptious, as was the pork loin ciabatta sandwich with mango chutney (and I normally am indifferent to pork). And they had a great assortment of tap beers. Really good experience. read more

If you can get in, this place is delicious. They don't take reservations though, and that makes me sad. The last time we went, we were met with a two hour wait. We love the place, but we were hungry. We went across the street to Casper's instead and had a totally average, unimpressive experience. Anyway! I still give Doolittles 4 stars because the food is out of this world good, and the waitstaff is very attentive. They have a nice wine list, and interesting aviation decor. Order something that came out of the wood fire! Oh man, the buffalo wings are just delicious and are accompanied by blue cheese dressing. The spit-roasted chicken and fish tacos are both very good. Atmosphere was good, wait staff was amazing, but food was average. We both ordered the blackberry mule, an the bartender was inconsistent to the point it tasted like we had different drinks.. I didn't even finish mine.We started with wings because the waitress talked them up so much. They were a bit sour from too many fresh herbs, and a little on the dry side. I got a bowl of wild rice soup and it was ok, a little thin, and the chicken was over shredded to a point it was like having sting cheese in it. I had the spit chicken with green beans, which the beans were under cooked. The chicken was ok,, but definitely wouldn't day award winning.. My fiance had the ribs chicken, which the ribs were very dry. He needed to ask for extra BBQ sauce to eat them. Best part of the meal was the Cole slaw and the French fries. A little disappointed with this place. I went on a Sunday with my 17 and 18 year old. The bar tender served us not sure if they were under staffed or what. My children and my self wore our comfy out fits we did not Dress up for the occasion it was about 2pm. The bar tender came to our table to take our order I asked if we could have a kids menu and I was pretty much shut down right away. She stated that it was against the rules to have a 17 year old pick from the kids menu. I tried to explain to her that my 17year old is very picky and has stomach issues. She still would not have it. I honestly think the bar tender/waitress was thinking that I was trying to get something for cheap. So we ended up ordering all foods from the main menu. I ordered the chicken wings rubbed chicken. This is what I had another time I was at the restaurant and they were amazing. I was very disappointed two of my wings were very burnt. I expect no Burt wings if I am paying almost $20 for 6 wings. I did not complain. I just assumed that the restaurant and her did not think we had money and maybe we were going to ditch them. Any way I did pay for my meal did not complain about it and also left the bar tender/ waitress a tip my bill was about $60.00 I left her $50.00 wanted to prove a point never judge a book by its cover.
