Lunch specials always welcome. Chose a walleye sandwich with Cole slaw today, even though I usually choose rotisserie chicken dishes! Parker took good care of me. Prompt and friendly service always and I'll be back!
We met up with family here for our final vacation night in MN. What a perfect meeting place! We had reservations and were seated right away. Our waiter immediately came over and took our drink order followed by our food choices. The food came out very quick, especially since it was so busy. Everything was cooked to perfection and delicious! We ordered the 1/4 roasted chicken plate, the Cajun chicken pasta, prime rib French dip and two orders of the chicken wings. The bread slices were also delicious. The atmosphere is somewhat loud, but not annoyingly so. We would definitely go back!
I've been to this restaurant at least a half-dozen times now, and my experiences have ranged from great to just okay. With that said, I'll share some of my favorite parts of dining here and a few things I've noticed over the course of my visits. One thing that stands out is that the service isn't always consistent. The only times I can say it's been truly great were when we specifically asked for Ivan, who does an outstanding job and is a character. There's also a female server I can't recall her name for the life of me but she is very good as well. On the flip side, a couple of other times the service wasn't bad, but it wasn't quite up to par either. The host stand, though, is almost always excellent. The ladies there are welcoming and make you feel welcome as soon as you walk in. Only once did I have a hostess who seemed off her game, moving us around to different tables because they weren't clean or no one was covering that section. Still, most of the time, they set the right tone for the evening. As for the restaurant itself, the decor has a nice, somewhat romantic vibe, and the food has been consistently good on every visit. It's definitely become one of our go-to spots. Another plus is that there's plenty of parking, which is always a relief. On my most recent visit, a manager even came over to introduce himself and check if we needed anything. That was a nice surprise and made the experience feel more personal. Now, for the cons. Service tends to slip if we don't happen to get one of the more seasoned servers. The wings also aren't consistent--sometimes they come out perfect, other times they're a little pink. Since that seems to be the usual way they serve them, I think it would be better if they asked guests if that's okay rather than just assuming. Also, be prepared to wait if you come on a weekend or even a weekday after 5 PM, because it fills up fast. All in all, my wife and I have enjoyed our visits and learned what times and days work best for us to get our favorite staff and avoid the long waits. Between the good food, the nice atmosphere, and a few stand out servers, it's worth coming back even if there are a few inconsistencies here and there.
Beautiful place. You smell the delicious aroma from the parking lot! I came here originally to try the wings, but there was dishes that grabbed my attention I couldn't miss! Service was Anne was great! Very attentive and kind.
This is for the wings, and for the service I've had here. The wings are to die for! I am in love with them and I am a wing girl!! Also each time I have been here I have had fantastic service. All of the waiters have been quick, super nice, funny and kind no matter what time of day. It seems to be slow during the day until about 5 or 6 then this place gets busy. I enjoy sitting in the booths at the bar but if you have a larger group or want more of a dinner experience the back room is very nice.
Yup, it's faaawncy. Which means it's both a little pricey and smaller portions, but lovely presentation and great, unique flavor. Honestly, the deserts were the most affordable thing on the menu. Lots of alcohol options, if that's your thing. The inside ambiance is also fancy... somewhat dimmed lighting, but loud and bustling inside. There's some but not a lot of outdoor seating, and a large square bar in the center. Employees were kind enough and attentive to our numerous refills (my father-in-law drinks iced tea like a fish). Bathrooms were fine, though only a single men's stall for such a crowded, high-occupancy place isn't the best (might I suggest making your bathrooms all-gender?). Might end up going again sometime in the future, but maybe not? We just moved to the area, so we've got a long list of places to try out to find out what's our fave!
The smell of the wood rotisserie when you first walk in the door is AMAZING. The service was great. The server was kind and helpful with fun suggestions to do while we were visiting Minneapolis. I got the Reuben . I am always looking for a good Reuben . I was not disappointed, so much flavor and big portions I brought 1/2 back to the hotel. My husband got 1/2 chicken w/ mashed potatoes and green beans. So good. Chicken falls off the bone and so flavorful. We were so surprised to only see a few people in the restaurant. If this was in California there would be a line out the door. Oh and we got a pice of the mudslide cake to go . Also amazing.
I really enjoyed this restaurant - everything I tried was great! I was with a group and we shared the walleye fingers and buffalo wings. I think they are well known for their chicken and when you come inside you can see the chickens cooking in the wood fire. The ambiance is a step or two above casual - I would definitely recommend.
Came here for Father's Day and they were packed. The host greeted us and got us a table within minutes. The classic cheese burger was nice and juicy, the ribeye steak with fingerling potatoes. The wood fire wings is a must as well as the cream of wild rice soup. Wings are roasted to perfection. The star of the meal was oven roasted Alaskan Halibut over hash of artichoke hearts, red bell pepper, fingerling potatoes, onion & arugula, lemon cream, basil pesto aioli. Our waitress told us that it would smell fishy but would not taste like it and she was right. The halibut was delicate and moist. The basil pesto aioli paired very well. The arugula gave the dish a freshness.
Service by Lindsey was the best part. My companions like this restaurant a lot better than I do. They have half-priced bottles of wine on Mondays which is a great deal. I had the Butternut Squash soup and it was very good. Autumn in a cup. My friend really liked her Cavatappi and another ordered the half-chicken. She took the leftover chicken home to her dog. I ordered the Scallop Risotto and was disappointed. The menu description is shown below. My first bite was just lemon oil. Then I could taste the yam. The risotto itself was very plain and didn't taste of mushrooms. The fennel really threw the dish off. The scallops were very good and cooked perfectly. The flavors didn't mesh at all. Seared Scallops & Mushroom Risotto-pan seared scallops over roasted crimini risotto with fresh fennel, broccolini & parmesan cheese, lemon oil, crispy yam shoestrings. We didn't have room for dessert.
Came here Saturday afternoon and was seated right away! We sat out on the patio and our waitress was very accommodating with our seating and helped us move umbrellas so that we could have preferred sunlight seating!! Our meal was amazing, no complaints. Outside they have music playing, but it is at a nice volume. Tables are spread out, so you're not too close to any one. It is a bit pricey, but well worth it!!!

I would give this place more stars based on our dinner last night, but when we were there a couple of weeks ago, the service was terrible. We came back because the food was good and wanted to give it another shot. First time: it was a busy Friday and we made reservations since it was 3 adults and 2 children. The waitress was confused by a simple drink order. How do you mess up liquor + soda? A few minutes later, 1 of 3 drinks came to the table. We were all confused, where were the other drinks? Then the appetizers came out (maybe the food service was going to be quick!). Then drink 2 of 3 came to the table and the person who brought it (the manager) asked about the third drink since she was confused since the waitress was confused. Needless to say they finally brought over the 3rd drink and appetizers were almost done. We are now half an hour into dinner. From when we sat down to when the entrees came, it was an hour and five minutes. 40 minutes from when appetizers dropped on the table to when entrees dropped to the table. Unacceptable. Being from the industry, i always tend to be lenient on wait staff when it's busy. At first I was calm but irritated about the drinks, but 1st and 2nd course should never have that lag time. Not in a casual restaurant. This ruined the evening, especially when you have hungry children. The manager offered to remove one entree from the bill because it was simply terrible and offered us a couple desserts . A nice gesture, we appreciated it, but would've rather had an evening meal go well rather than discounts and freebies. Second visit: We also came on a busy Friday night and made reservations . Although, besides another family we were the only ones waiting and after 10 minutes of waitinf, the hostess asked, are you so and so? We said yes. She responded , oh, we thought we already sat you, sorry. Seriously?? After the 1st time dining here, this made me irritated. You basically just told me you forgot about us. Then the service...drinks order were correct. Waitress was timely . Appetizers came out, salads came out, entrees came out all in a well timed manner. All were delicious and based on the 2nd visit , we will be back. We are glad we have it another go and realize it's just going to be hit or miss when we go there. read more

My girlfriend and I came here a few days ago for my birthday after cancelling reservations to Fogo (she was feeling ill). We've driven by here countless times and never thought to try it out. It seemed to be a casual enough setting for our needs that night, however, and the menu looked tasty. The have a large rotisserie full of chicken spinning around over an open flame that you're forced to walk by as you're seated. It's a smart tactic; it was like watching a magical meat kaleidoscope. I silently planned to stuff an 'Ove Glove' in my pants for our next visit so I can try and nab a free appetizer. It's like a lobster tank, ya'll (only with the potential for singed arm hair). We were seated close to the bar and started eyeballing the drink menu. She went with the Green Tea Mojito and I got a beer. We ordered the fried calamari for an appetizer and it came out in a snap. It was fresh, crispy, well-seasoned and tender. We both loved the accompanying Dijon tarragon aioli (it had notes of citrus and really brought out the flavor of the squid). My girlfriend excitedly went for the pork chop and, with the image of juicy chickens still waddling playfully in my daydreams, I decided to do the ribs and chicken combo. Her chop was amazing. It was thick cut, seared to perfection and bone-in to seal in all those flavors. The apple chutney and sauce it was served with had notes of cinnamon, hints of clove and a warm sweetness that paired perfectly with the savory pork. But, really, screw the pork chop. From the very first forkful of the chicken, I knew I had reached poultry nirvana. The skin was crisp and seasoned with a garlicky, salty, slightly sweet blend of spices. The meat couldn't have been more tender and it had that smoky warmth that you always -want- smoked chicken to have that it rarely seems to possess. I caressed that chicken. I got its number, told it I'd be back soon and ate it faster than a basset could guzzle down a beggin' strip. Yeah... we're sort of an item now. Please accept our alternative lifestyle. Oh, yeah. There were ribs and fries and shit, too. The fries were delicious and I enjoyed the seasoned salt. The coleslaw had a good creaminess and was quite herbaceous. The ribs, while delicious in their own right, were eclipsed by the rampant chicken worship. They had a bit more tooth to them (not the really 'fall off the bone' sort of ribs) and the house BBQ sauce had a slight undertone of heat. The charred edges were my favorite part. My ass is coming back when I want some delicious smoked chicken and I'm too lazy to whip out my own smoker. If you've never been here, I highly recommend you give it a whirl. read more

Great happy hour! We are here on a Wednesday. Drinks are $1 off and appetizers are $2 off. The spinach artichoke dip is the best I've ever had with grilled bread... Yummers!!!! We also got the Ahi Tuna points... Fresh and delicious! Had to try the wood fire wings... A little spicy for me, but very flavorful! Service was good as well. The rosemary bread is delish while waiting! As an aside: really nice bathroom! read more

We were hungry after a long day of preparing for a weekend family event. So off we go to Doolittles. The place was packed on a Thursday at 6:30. My only complaint is that they don't take reservations. If you want star number 5, how about making it easier for us, your adoring public, to dine with no added anxiety, by taking reservations? Ok, rant over. Back to the packed restaurant. Bar stuffed, waiting area jammed, and there we stand with our plastic thingamajig waiting for lights to flash and vibrations to confirm that our table, our respite from a long day, is ready to receive us. About 20 minutes after arriving, our turn came. Seated, we salivated at the good selection. The menu has plenty to choose from including salads, burgers, sandwiches, pastas, seafood, and wood-fired morsels of meaty heaven! The hangar steak was my choice. Perfectly kissed by smoky flames, the juicy meat was tender and perfectly flavored. Nestled against the steak? Who can complain when you see a nice mound of horseradish mashed potatoes and perfectly sautéed fresh spinach. It was delightful. And I was not alone. Another companion also loved her steak, with another raving about the prime rib French dip, and to round out the applause, a perfectly cooked rare (yes, really rare, the way he ordered it) burger with Swiss cheese and mushrooms. Service was attentive and friendly without being an interruption. We'll be back! read more

Doolittles is one of my favorite restaurants in the Eagan/Apple Valley area. My friends and I go here often, but this last experience really tied the 5-star knot. We had Tyler has a waiter. He was a very nice, and humorous guy. The wait is usually pretty long for Doolittles due to its extreme popularity. But, the wait is worth it. Tyler kept us up to date on our food with a laugh on the side. Great food, great service, great atmosphere! read more

This is certainly the place to go if you like BBQ chicken. Cooked to perfection which is not always easy to do on a BBQ! The service was good and the place was welcoming. You would think the place is dress casual but looking around the dining room we felt under dressed in shorts and t-shirts. A bit on the spendee side for chicken but the quality made it worth the price. The wait was short and it was interesting to see the wood fired rotisserie in operation. I was a little concerned that it was open to everyone who walked by... Fries and other sandwiches were top notch as well. read more
Was recommended to come here by a friend who said that Doolittles had the "best wings in town." The setting was nice (had a romantic vibe, good for a date night!) and the service was prompt. We were sat at a table almost immediately and our food came out quick - which was great because we were starving! I came here with my mom and we ordered appetizers to share and an entree each. Got the Crispy Calamari and Woodfire Buffalo Wings to start. I ordered the Top Sirloin and my mom got the Ginger-Glazed Australian Sea Bass. The crispy calamari was good but in my opinion lacked flavor. It wasn't overly salty like most calamari I've tried, so that was appreciated. The wings were what I was looking forward to the most but honestly, it was okay at best. Flavorful but I was expecting more (apparently I was supposed to order them "extra spicy" but didn't know that was an option at the time). My mom thoroughly enjoyed her dinner, safe to say she had no problem licking her plate clean (5/5). I'd give my own entree a 3 out of 5. I ordered the steak cooked medium but I thought it was more medium rare. The sides which included green beans and potatoes, were TO DIE FOR. Overall, it was a good experience and I'd probably come back... for those potatoes :P read more

This restaurant has to be one of my favorite spots to dine at in Eagan. They have the best woodfire buffalo wings ever! It's a must get every time. Other times I've came here, I've had the pleasure of trying most of the apps which are good. The prime rib french dip is super delish! Recently, I had the raspberry and fresh pear starter salad. Has to my new favorite! Just because of how light and refreshing it is.. And all that feta just makes me drool. :p read more

Pretty decent food, good atmosphere, decent beer listing, the service was friendly and quick enough. All in all it's a pretty decent place to go, I just didn't think that there was anything special about it that made it pop and make me want to go back there frequently. read more

Oh man it smells so good in here... Woodfire grill roasting chickens and wings and oh man it smelled so good... I had the bbq chicken salad, it was delicious! The service was friendly and quick. I loved the decor! from my one experience at lunch it was close to a 5 star experience, but I don't like to 5 star on one data point. Recommended to anyone looking for a good solid delicious meal. read more
