The donuts themselves are nice and large, and you wouldn't believe that it was completely vegan - it's not as super fluffy and light, but still! We went in the morning, and there was already a line! Although, tend to carry staples like their Payday donut they also have new treats to try every week. The shop is cute and quaint, I believe they have one table to sit, but mostly everyone gets theirs to go. The staff is chill, and the owner/s are cool as well. We drove over from Virginia to grab donuts here, and it was absolutely worth the drive for some of the best donuts I've ever had (vegan or otherwise). They post their menu on Instagram daily, and I was happy that most of our top choices were still available around lunchtime. I also love that they make donut holes, because so many donut shops don't. My favorite of the donuts we got was the vanilla sprinkle. It was so fluffy, had a perfect texture, and came with a thick sweet frosting that held the sprinkles on better than a lot of places. I also really liked the blueberry pancake with maple syrup. Everything looked amazing, and I wish we lived closer so we could try more. We were served swiftly with a huge smile. I love that! As a 1st timer, those are the things that count towards me returning along with the flavors. This is a small shop and you have to take your goodies to go. I have only tried the Snickers donut since getting a box from here. I can't believe these are VEGAN desserts!!! Holy shiitake mushrooms!! I kept hearing good things about Donut Run sooo I had to try it for myself! I ordered half a dozen donuts: snickers (2), blueberry pancake, blueberry glazed (I love blueberries, lol), peanut butter & jelly, and peanut butter bomb (and I guess I love peanut butter too). Let's just say I'll be coming right back because these donuts are it! They're huge so you can definitely eat half and then some later orrrr you can just the whole dang thing. I mean no judgment here. Nice tall brunette man with tattoos working behind the counter. The station where you add stuff to your coffee had plastic cups and a free water spout. The cream on the pistachio lemon donut was really nice! Nice area. Nice mix of cultures around. I don't know why everyone is being so dramatic about the coffee though, because if you ask me this is the exact same coffee everyone was raving about from Tatte and Baked and Wired? I couldn't drink Baked and Wired's coffee, but this tasted pretty drinkable once I added enough milk and sugar. read more

Been a loyal customer since they opened and had a really frustrating experience today. $44 is a lot to pay for a dozen donuts in general but to go in today and see a sign that the apple fritter and cinnamon bun are no longer included in the dozen and the apple fritter was marked $4 as most of the other donuts and I asked why it wasn't included in the dozen and the man behind counter said that the sign was wrong and it was $4.50 and I said that he should give me the fritter for $4 because that's the price it was advertised at and he grabbed the sign and changed the price to $4.50 and ignored my question. It's really wild to treat a long time customer this way over $.50. I highly recommend avoiding this establishment from now on as they clearly don't appreciate their customers anymore. read more

Nice little donut place in DC, definitely a hidden gem. They have some of the best donuts I've ever had, probably one of my top 3 donut places, very tasty and colorful garnishes. My favorite donuts were; Strawberry icing, Cherry Pie (sweet with a sour cherry center filling that provides the perfect flavor contrast) & their rich chocolate one "Chocolate by Death (Official)". Been meaning to try this out for a long time now and had an urge to suddenly get up and go on a Sunday morning. It was busy on such a day that it gave me the impression these donuts must be a hit. Well the ambiance isn't anything special seems like they want no parts of anyone lingering around after inside especially when it was my turn it sort of felt like I had to hurry up and order so they can move on to the next person I noticed that when the lady ahead of me was getting her order and the look on the cashiers face and then getting my order taken and same look like "hurry and order." Well I got three different donuts and out of the three the Samoa might've been the better of them all, the French toast donut tasted like nothing but plain icing on the donut and the apple cider donut I was reluctant to get cause I plan on going to get them at a farm this weekend which are always a hit. Should've went with my gut cause the apple cider all though flavor was there so was the dryness.
