I love Donut nook. I grew up on Wichells donuts as a kid and just love donuts . I love all their maple bars and jelly's . But my other favorite is cake donuts . I'm pretty picky about those . I still haven't found the perfect place that puts nutmeg in their dough. Cake donuts of 60s and 70s were always made with nutmeg. I miss that added flavor . I'm hoping the donut chef sees this and tries adding it to dough someday. No one seems to do anymore and adds that extra pop to taste. Thank you ! You guys are always the best ! Came here for my first time on Easter Sunday at noon. I walked in hoping to get about 10 donuts for an Easter brunch potluck, and they hooked it up! She filled a big pink box with every kind of donut in there, and charge me what I would have paid for the 10 I originally went in to get. Came in looking forward to picking up a number 12 and the nise lady upfront told me they didn't have it she was kind enough to compensate with some donuts in return. I really love the donuts here they are fresh and delightful. The reason why I'm giving such a low rating is because staff does not wear gloves. Today I went to get donuts and the lady that serves me just took a tissue and grabbed each donut after handling money, put them in the bag and threw the tissue she had in her hand in the bag behind them. My opinion is she might as well have just used her bare hands to get them. She did not wash your hands between customers after handling the money. In today's world with covid-19 this is unacceptable. I work the night shift at the hospital and with the pandemic mess, I realized Friday night that I hadn't gotten a cake for my son's birthday Saturday. I wasn't off work until 1 am and none of the 24 hr grocery stores are open during this time. I remember how much he loves going to the 24hr Doughnut Nook so I called to see if they could help. They took my order over the phone for this huge doughnut cake and had it baked fresh by 1 am for me to pick up on the way home. The smile on his face was priceless. 24 hour donut shop! You could only ever find this in a college town. Don't let that stop you from coming in though because these donuts are amazing! I got my normal old fashioned donut and wow I think it was the best one I've ever tried! It was buttery and melted in my mouth! Just the right amount of sweet to satisfy my sweet tooth but no out me in a sugar comma. It was so fresh even though we came in at 10 at night! They are open 24 hours but go in the morning when the donuts are fresh and fluffy and freaking delicious. Went in for a classic glazed donut, they were out, however, the clerk at the register didnt even skip a beat and was quite convincing when he said I should "Try this one!
