Saw the reviews and decided to go in to get a couple dozen donuts for coworkers. Not a face mask in sight including the worker behind the counter. If they feel it's a "personal decision", it's also a business decision that could lose them a customer like it did with me. read more

Hands down best donuts EVER! They always have a good selection of donuts & are super friendly to boot. You have to remember to bring cash since they are cash only, but if you forget there is an atm right inside that will give out as little as $10. One of the guys making the donuts has been there for a long time and he always has a smile & a wave for the customers. The kids can stand and watch as the donuts are being made. Four years ago, they used to put the donuts in a proper pink donut box that was deep enough for your donuts to not get damaged. Then they started putting it in a beer flat with a piece of wax paper flapping over it. Now they're putting a dozen in two paper bags and when they're done bagging they ask if you wanted a box. Needless to say, my donuts were smashed being stacked on top of each other. If you charge $20 a dozen, put it in a proper pink donut box. I'll come back if you do. read more

This is THE best donut place in town. Inexpensive & absolutely delicious! They have weird hours, but it works. My go-to is their chocolate old fashioned with a 2% milk. My husband LOVES their chocolate squares. You really can't go wrong here! read more

Best doughnuts in Chico. Even better: open 24/7. For what more can you ask? It's also a cool spot to meet young adults in North Chico, and area that generally seems removed from the college-aged crowd. And the later you go, the better the people watching :) Doughnuts are delicious, only problem is they're cash only or debt/credit with a fee and $10 minimum, so leave your plastic at home (or diet before the big order). read more

I love Donut nook. I grew up on Wichells donuts as a kid and just love donuts . I love all their maple bars and jelly's . But my other favorite is cake donuts . I'm pretty picky about those . I still haven't found the perfect place that puts nutmeg in their dough. Cake donuts of 60s and 70s were always made with nutmeg. I miss that added flavor . I'm hoping the donut chef sees this and tries adding it to dough someday. No one seems to do anymore and adds that extra pop to taste. Thank you ! You guys are always the best ! Came here for my first time on Easter Sunday at noon. I walked in hoping to get about 10 donuts for an Easter brunch potluck, and they hooked it up! She filled a big pink box with every kind of donut in there, and charge me what I would have paid for the 10 I originally went in to get. They said that doesn't happen often, but it was excellent customer service, and I would definitely go back the next time I need donuts. read more

Aww. The Donut Nook. I can remember back when I was a kid (Yelp did not exist back then so late review here), after school, I'd walk from McManus to the Donut Nook. For a little over a dollar, I could get one glazed donut (the round ones) and a small carton of chocolate milk. We're not talking commercialized Quik - this was real, locally produced chocolate milk. I really love the donuts here they are fresh and delightful. The reason why I'm giving such a low rating is because staff does not wear gloves. Today I went to get donuts and the lady that serves me just took a tissue and grabbed each donut after handling money, put them in the bag and threw the tissue she had in her hand in the bag behind them. My opinion is she might as well have just used her bare hands to get them. She did not wash your hands between customers after handling the money. In today's world with covid-19 this is unacceptable. I work the night shift at the hospital and with the pandemic mess, I realized Friday night that I hadn't gotten a cake for my son's birthday Saturday. I wasn't off work until 1 am and none of the 24 hr grocery stores are open during this time. I remember how much he loves going to the 24hr Doughnut Nook so I called to see if they could help. They took my order over the phone for this huge doughnut cake and had it baked fresh by 1 am for me to pick up on the way home. The smile on his face was priceless. 24 hour donut shop! You could only ever find this in a college town. Don't let that stop you from coming in though because these donuts are amazing! I got my normal old fashioned donut and wow I think it was the best one I've ever tried! It was buttery and melted in my mouth! Just the right amount of sweet to satisfy my sweet tooth but no out me in a sugar comma. It was so fresh even though we came in at 10 at night! Holy doughnuts Batman! We went here in the evening and were given doughnuts that were so fresh I thought it was morning. Why? Because most doughnut shops don't sell you the fresh ones in the evening but this place did! The doughnuts are incredibly fluffy and delicious. They were sweet but not overpoweringly so. LEGIT DONUTS. I'm a health freak, but donuts are my ultimate weakness. I've tried many a donut, and these ones at donut nook are worth every single freaking calorie. They are open 24 hours but go in the morning when the donuts are fresh and fluffy and freaking delicious. I've had donuts from all over California and it pains me to admit that this place is better than my local donut shop in San Diego. I got a chocolate frosted donut with sprinkles and they don't skimp on the chocolate frosting and the donut was perfectly light and fluffy. My sister got the maple donut with chocolate drizzle... perfect for those who can't decide between a maple donut or a chocolate donut!
