i used to be a Krispy Kreme fan but never again! Donut House's donuts are double the size and half the price! Hands down the best donuts I've ever had. They have a variety of other baked goods like muffins, croissants, and the very popular ham and cheese croissant, YUM! A must try is the chocolate coconut covered cake donut and the cream or custard filled bars... They taste like tiny bites of heaven :))) The owner, Mr.T, and his lovely wife Melinda are super friendly and always nice. Donuts are a great treat for every occasion!! We were walking in to Starbucks and my boyfriend could smell donuts across the street! What a sweet treat. Oh yeah, the typical donut shop but didn't disappoint with donut holes, timely Valentine's Day sprinkles and ever so fluffy chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and coconut which I haven't ordered since I was a kid. This has been a family run shop for many years now. the donut house is the only donut place I've ever encountered that makes the following signatures: Triangle Chocolate chip donut (Filled with chocolate chips) Triangle powdered donuts filled with fruits & Homemade whipped cream Homemade whipped cream bars Donut house is also the only place that refrigerates their cream and custard signature donuts. I was so happy they reopened here, close to my home too. These are the best tasting donuts around. The owner is extremely polite and the shop is clean. The Donut House exceeds any other business in town. Very kind, hospitable workers. I ordered 3 dozen and took a large coffee container to go for my EMT class, when I brought the container back, she gave me a couple free donuts. Totally didn't have to do that! That's also not why I'm writing this review, but for the extra mile they go to show they appreciate the business. Came here to grab some donuts for my work. The lady at the counter was really friendly and fast. I got two dozen donuts and one maple bar on the side since it's not included in the deal. Donuts look fresh and tasty. Environment looks clean, only downfall is how hot it was inside and it was only 8:15 in the morning. Since I was in a hurry I didn't bother checking the order. When I dropped off the maple donut to my sister, she was happily surprised to find donut holes in the bag. The lady had put some in without me knowing. That was a really nice gesture and great way to do business. Highly recommend this place. The donuts were light, airy, fluffy, and just the right consistency of glaze. absolutely the best I have had in 50yrs. had seldom eaten donuts in decades, but these are amazing. The cream alligators are like biting into a cloud and the apple fritters are perfect, with no gooey centers like most. one fritter will last me for days, although the alligator is consumed dreamily within the hour. the owner is very nice and everything is super clean. this has become a weekly stop. everyone I know adores this place. read more

I'm not going to burn your rating over a problem like this. I was in the store today. I stood for a few minutes waiting and I could not see anyone. I moved to the end of the counter where I could see the kitchen. I could see an employee standing and texting on her phone. To busy on her phone to notice me. I waited longer than I should have and then left. I did call the shop as I was driving away to let the employee know she had just lost a sale. She did apologize but I'm sitting here writing this instead of having the doughnuts I wanted to buy today. I wonder how many others have done the same thing. read more

Well as the other reviewer noted very disappointing that they skimp on the apples in the fritter. However, considering we came in at 4:40 right before they were going to close, the donuts were good. They calculate what they need pretty spot in as there were only about 20 donuts left in the shop! So didn't get our favorites except maple and apple fritter and those were good! The ones that we usually don't get were pretty good as well. The maple frosting was a little too much like cake frosting instead of donut icing but still pretty good. The fritter was cooked perfectly- they are supposed to be hard!!! And soft in the inside. They did it just right. I have been to so many places that either leave them soft without the outside crust or burn them so they are too hard and taste like burnt sugar. So all in all not perfect but a good place to stop for good old fashioned donuts. read more

Donut house is by far the best donut place in Redding. Not only do they have the best donuts, they have amazing service. This morning I ordered 6 dozen donuts and 3 dozen donut holes, on the fly. They agreed to have them ready in 30 minutes. I showed up a little early and she gave me a bag of hot donut holes and free coffee while I waited. Amazing!!!
