We were visiting from San Diego and in town for relatives. We found this jewel of a place by accident and glad we did. The food was excellent, the ladies there were friendly and the price was right. It was so good we went there the following day. The lady there, I believe Julie remembered us as the "California people". Such sincerity, home town fresh great food. Just ordered some breakfast sandwiches for me and a couple of coworkers and all I can say is yes these are freakin' amazing!!! Made fresh to order and the bagels just right, not too light or dense. THEY DO TAKE CREDIT CARDS, I know there are a few donut shops in the area that are cash only so take a deep breath, you don't have to make a stop at the ATM. I must reiterate that the coffee is really good and if you drink while you wait for a take-out they will top you off be for you head out, major plus. You owe it to yourself to stop in! As a side note its a small building, small parking lot with a drive thru. The interior is a little worn but cozy, like my favorite chair. It is also well maintained and clean. Everyone loves a good donut, tea, coffee, or bagel - and this place has the best. The bagel sandwiches always taste great, personal favorite is the club sandwich on a garlic bagel. The best part about this place is their 'birthday cake donut'. A giant donut they will make for special occasions. I do theatre and always get one for opening night for productions I'm involved in. They fill it half with custard and half with cream, and it has a chocolate top with writing in creme and sprinkles. (you can custom it however you want, that is just my way!) They're always a hit at every party and seem to get eaten super fast. They recently remodeled the inside, and the facelift they gave themselves looks great! Amazing customer service. Everyone who works here is so nice. They know customers by name and ask about their families. Its like going to get a cup of coffee with your aunt or uncle. And the giant donuts are a hit with us! I got my dad a powdered lemon filled one for his birthday (his favorite kind) and even though they forgot to fill half of it, he still really enjoyed it. Best donut place around. Trust me, you can't go wrong with either the custard or creme filled long john. They are huge, and you can't eat the whole thing in one sitting. The other customers in the drive-thru can be a little impatient if you order anything complicated, so don't be surprised to get a honk or two. SIMMER DOWN, FOLKS. However, my absolute go-to is the bacon egg and cheese on a garlic cheese bagel. SO GOOD. Guaranteed to burn the heck out of your mouth on the drive to work because you just can't help yourself, but I promise that you will love every second of it. I love the little doughnut shop feel! Had a nice chat with a retired gentleman at the "bar" while enjoying my cherry fritter and freshly brewed coffee. Had my two year old with us and the woman behind the counter offered to add sprinkles to a chocolate doughnut for him before I had a chance to ask. We were thrilled at the service and atmosphere. Looks like they make bangles and bagel sandwiches too. Lots of lunch-breakers came in for a quick take out sandwich while we sat inside. Looks like a great little community place. We were passing through the area and needed some breakfast. Saw how well rated this place was but unfortunately the donuts are not very good. Didn't try the bagels but the donuts tasted as if they were a day or two old. We had the original and chocolate glazed donuts and they were very dry and disappointing. Also all of the donut bars are filled which was disappointing to me since I don't prefer filled donuts. read more

Meh. It was OK. Our family prefers more dense bagels and a crispy exterior on donuts. Service was nice and prompt and good was as ordered. Just not the 5 stars "wow" we were expecting. I sent a friend to pick up donuts this morning. Every single one was stale. I called the shop and was told they were baked fresh YESTERDAY, it was humid, and it makes the dough tough. Armed with that information WHY ARE YOU SELLING STALE DONUTS? My friend got her money back without apology. I will be checking with the health department to see if the sale of stale foods is permissable in Macomb County. When they show up you already know who sent them. read more

Been coming here since I was 13. Back when I had a Detroit Free Press route I would come here after I was done to get a donut as a reward if I could finish my route before 7am. This is a family owned shop and I know all 3 generations of the ownership. and every single one of them have always treated me well and with respect. one year while being a young teenager I snuck out of the house to have some midnight fun and the uncle saw me and my friend walking up and down 13 Mile he pulled us in and taught us how to make doughnuts that evening which as it turns out was probably a better thing for a couple of 14 year olds to be doing at 3 in the morning as opposed to walking the streets. over those 30 years they have hands down given the best donut I have ever had I have taken them into the offices that I have work that has treats for my co-workers I have given them to my employees that I now have... hell I even take him to my Bankers every couple of months or so. simply put these are good people making a good product you are doing yourself a disservice by not trying this place. read more
