Needed four new tires and Don's was close by so I stopped in. Had them do the work but wish I had not - it's been four years and it still bugs me. With all of the different tire places to go Don's would be my last choice. read more

I Only use Don's tire service (i once had my car towed there from Oakland to have a flat replaced) Don's was recommended to me by a colleague more than 5 years ago; I have been 100% satisfied since read more

Dropped the tire off for repair at 9am, they stated it would be done within 20 min. I told them that I would be back by noon. It's noon and tire never looked through and they fell behind. They tell me tire is no good at noon. What happened to customer communication? A simple call in the morning and to discuss the situation. read more

Don's Tire Service is awesome. Friendly service, fair prices, outstanding quality and attention to detail. And a nice selection of magazines in the waiting area. read more

Quick and easy. Got a slow leak and thus a flat on my Fiat. Came in to get a new tire. They said "Let's see if we can fix it first". And they did. $35 bucks. Didn't push a sale of a tire. More interested in customer service. Love em' and have already recommended them to others. Thanks guys. read more

Great staff here at Don's Tire. Smart, concerned, patient, helpful, warm, funny, quick. I got personal attention and very good info and advice from manager Mark (and other staff) today, as we have been trying to sort through some unexplained brake noise, after 2 months ago buying four tires for my recently purchased used 1999 Subaru. I came back a few weeks later as they advised, after some other work completed on my car elsewhere, for alignment (with a bit of a discount as having prior bought four tires) and free brake check. (Ample brake pads reported from checking brakes. They offered some other possible explanations of intermittent brake squealing.) Then, with a flat this week from a bent nail requiring that tire to be replaced, they honored their road hazard warranty with no problem. (I paid just $25 in labor for the new tire replacement.) With this brake noise mystery continuing, manager Mark offered he would personally pull and inspect each wheel, which he did with me standing by him, talking to me and giving me thorough info throughout. Just superb service! read more

Unfortunately, after complaining about tire wear after only 4000miles, It was suggested I buy a more reliable set of tires. Usually, one relies on the expert to advise about tires and options at the time of purchase, not after a bad experience. While they finally came through and backed up the work, I was disappointed. read more

These people are great with tires. They have patched me up twice now and it runs about $25/patch. Service is patchy, slow and sometimes crabby...I still like them though because I think they do a good job. read more

I would like to give a compliment comment to Don's Tire Service which has fixed my flat Firestone tire last week. Initially I brought my flat tire to Firestone where I bought the 4 tires from them 2 years ago. Disappointedly, without even opened the tire and checked on the seriousness of the tire puncture, the sale person told me right away that the tire was irreparable and I would have to replace the tire. They even said that tire must be replaced in pairs so they suggested $400 for two new tires. I went to Don's tire service for a second opinion and intended to get two used tires instead. Upon checking the flat tire, the supervisor Julio told me the hole can be patched. I could save some unnecessary $ on the used tires since they were about the same lifespan as my current tires. I really appreciate Julio's honest suggestion to a customer. It has been more than a week and the repaired tire still looks pretty good in shape. read more

Don's Tires did have a table where I could power my laptop and work. I am a person who is very serious about gas mileage. I converted my 2006 Prius into a plug-in. The average on the last 3 tanks of gas since installation of new roll-resistant tires (Yokohama Avid Ascent) yielded a 2-3 mph improvement. Get better gas mileage and get some stuff done on your laptop. Way to go Don's tires. read more

They answered the phone, I made an appointment for 2 hours later. I drove to their shop and they fixed the tyre. BMW Weatherford didn't have time to look at it and were talking $250 dollars. Car is an i3. Dons patched the hole for $35. While they did the work I had a coffee at Wholefoods and walked the neighborhood. Denise rang me to say the car was ready. I'm a fussy car guy, but based on this one experience I would rate them an above average workshop. read more

I've been buying tires for decades, and Don's is the best place I've found: great communications, courteous and knowledgeable personnel, skilled technicians. I highly recommend Don's. Follow-up: I just got back from another happy experience at Don's. My tires arrived in two separate shipments, so I had the opportunity to return for the installation of the rear tires. Once again, the friendliness, courtesy, humor, and attention to detail of the staff were outstanding. read more

I stopped in here one day on my way home an hour away after visiting family. My brother'd gotten tires here and recommended it. Angela was knowledgeable and friendly. She offered a less expensive tire that they recommended as better quality when the ones I asked for were not in stock. If I lived nearby, I'd have asked them to order as she also offered to do, because they were so nice. But alas, It was a little far from home, so I ended up going to a place very close to where I live. read more

My friends and I were on our way up to napa when I noticed a low pressure warning on my car. I really didn't want to stop but I was also pretty sure I had a nail in my tire. We called Don's Tire Service since it was on the way from SF and they were able to take us within 15 minutes notice. For $35, one of the guys fixed my tire within 15 minutes! Awesome service, awesome prices! We were able to head up to napa right after and didn't run into any trouble at all. I will definitely recommend this place to all my friends and next time I have tire issues, I'll know where to go =) read more

I really hate to give a poor review and really tried to give this local business my business. This tire place is close to where I live and a small business. So I bought 4 new tires (65k) here in 2016. Then I needed front breaks and rotors. Then 6 months later I needed new front breaks and rotors again, there was warranty but had to pay labor still. Then 6 months later front breaks and rotors failed again. They insisted there was no warranty but I persisted and got a discount but still paid a lot, and 3rd time in 1.5 years. I get my tires rotated, pay $25 for flat repair even though I bought my tires there. Now it's 2019 and I need all new tires and rear break and rotors. I just had my car serviced 2 months ago and nothing was recommended. There isn't even a measurement on file for my brakes from the service. This $1200 in repairs that were completely preventable. I am taking my business elsewhere to another local small business that guarantees their work. read more

I saw the good reviews of this place on Yelp and went out of my way to get my tires changed. 4 tires replaced + alignment came to $363. Service was quite good. I'll definitely go back for any tire-related issues. read more

Took my car here to patch up my tires because they had some nails in them. The people there were very friendly and took the proper way to repair my tire which is taking off the tire and patching up the underside, rather than taking out the nail and filling the hole up. They also understood that I am very careful with my car and they took great care when handling my expensive wheels. They allowed me to watch them and even took the time to explain to me why they did what they did. Prices were also very reasonable. They charged me $30/tire to patch up. $25/tire is the normal price but since I have low profile, they charge a bit more. read more

Been going here for several years, for several cars, always a good experience. This time needed four tires for minivan and I decided to shop around. Other places ranged in price from $600-800 for inferior tires. Don quoted me $540 for 80,000 mile rated tires. I showed up and, surprisingly, was offered a slightly lower price. I was also told that based on wear of tires an allighnment ($75) was probably needed. After their examination of the car they determined no allighnment necessary. That's honesty. I would never have second-guessed them on the allignment question if they had done it or charged for it. Car was done in an hour and the new Hankooks ride great. This place is way better and more reasonable than the major competitors. read more

My favorite tire shop closed down, so I had to find a new one. Don's seems fast, competent, and fair. I'll be back.

I got a flat outside my daughter's school in Albany and my son's after school program supervisor suggested I go around the corner to Don's Tire Service. I had so much driving to do the next day, and couldn't take the time to go to my regular mechanic's to order a matching tire. They saw me right away at Don's, and found a used tire that was close enough to the others on my car to work, and even had about as much tread as my year old tires. I am so grateful and impressed at how quickly they saw me, and the work was much less than expected due to the tire being used. I would recommend this place to anyone in need of tire service. They made my crappy day so much better by being there right when I needed them and helping out so quickly. read more

I stopped by after a very frustrating trip to Costco tire store where I went looking for some badly needed tires. Unbelievable that Costco didn't have tires that they said would fit my car. To start, the guy who attended to me at Costco said I needed the WRONG tire size and they DIDN'T have it. REALLY a warehouse store didn't have my tire and didn't know when they would get them in! He said it could be a day or it could be a week before they got them in. He sctually told me to go someplace else!!!! I left very frustrated and on unsafe tires. Happened to be driving by Dons Tire Service and thought I'd stop in to see if they had the tires i needed. Denise was the lovely woman sitting at the front. She gave me immediate and thorough attention. They didn't have the tire I needed in stock, so Denise PERSONALLY went to pick it up herself from their supplier in Richmond. She had one of the employees give me a ride to where I needed to go AND they picked me up to bring me back to their shop. When I got there, she mentioned that my car needed a wheel alignment so they through that in for FREE with my tires. So glad that I stopped in and supported this family owned business. I'll be coming back for their other wheel, tire and brake service in the future. Hope you will to. We need to support family owned businesses that go out of their way to help you in an expedient, knowledgable and professional manner! read more

I brought my car in for my usual tire rotation and was advised to replace my brake pads as soon as possible. Brought my car to another garage a few days later for second opinion and they told me my brake pads looked good...40% remaining. Not sure if I would want to give my business to Don's if they're trying to make me replace X when I don't need to. Advice to all...get a second opinion on any type of service you do here!!! I should report this to Channel 7 - they'll definitely be on my side. read more

My go to place for purchasing new sets of tires, and for all tire related services. I have been going here for years and the customer service is excellent. I came in this afternoon after my coworker noticed a nail in my tire. They looked me up and got me into the garage in a matter of minutes. It was my lucky day as the nail didn't puncture the tire and hence didn't need repair, and didn't charge me for the service of getting the nail removed. They checked and regulated all my tire pressures to boot! Customer care at its finest. This is why I'm a devoted and long time customer. Thanks Don and crew! read more

Great experience today with Don's Tires. Mark gave me a good deal and I was done and home within two hours. The office was clean and tidy, the wait area had lots of auto memorabilia and classic rock playing, the guys were friendly and quick. Had all four tires replaced and the wheels aligned. Easy peasy! Definitely coming back with the next car. Highly recommend! read more

Well, my friend and I had a rather good experience at Don's (considering we had a tire situation). We had a flat in the Berkeley area, on our way to Mendocino and fortunately we were close to Don's Tire Shop. Jeremy treated us well and we were happy with the efficient service. Jeremy is very approachable and listens to you. The bonus was that I happened to need a flashlight, and there, right there on the counter was a display of the BIG LARRY flashlights. These are the best flashlights ever. So, all around we drove away happy that we were on our way again knowing we were safe and sound. read more

Great service, they were fast and friendly.Been going there for years.Reliable and reasonable.

Fixed my flat tire FAST. I went in around 8:20 AM and left at 8:50. Not sure if this is usual, but I'm not complaining. They also put my spare back in the trunk. Don was cool. Found Don's Tire from the BPN. Would definitely go back. read more

My family has been a loyal customer of Don's Tires for 15 years. They always have the right solution for any situation, and perform the main body work quickly, cost-effectively, correctly and with a smile. Recently the manager came to help us with a difficult tire change in East Oakland, and educated us on the technique called for. He went extra miles for us, for which we are very appreciative. Not much later, my car was rear-ended at high speed. Don's Tire did the alignment checking work quickly and accurately. The missing fifth star is about how the spare is stored in its' compartment, how the floor mats are re-installed, and to where the hub lock is returned (a small concern). Please note that they are not open Sunday, and close early on Saturday. read more

If you need a new set of tires or any tire work, go to Don's. I went to Don's for a special order of Bridgestone tires, and Mark worked with me to give me an extremely good deal on the order. The tires arrived on time as promised, and they were installed so quickly that I was out the door and on my way in 45 minutes. Add to the fact that Don's will rotate your tires for free for the life of the tires and give you one free flat tire repair, why would you go anywhere else? They repaired one of my tires last year, and did a great job. I will definitely be buying all my tires from Don's in the future. read more

The service was good and the tires are descent, but over priced. They really sold me on the free flat fix and the fact that they are within walking distance. However, I just got a flat and now they say that's not their policy and charged me $25 (the same they charge customers who bought their tires elsewhere). I would have bought the tires at Firestone, PepBoys, BigO or Joes instead and saved a lot of money plus received free flat fix. read more

These guys were so helpful. I had a strange tire they couldn't match so they called around to help me find it! Go here first!

I just walked out of Don's happier than I thought possible after a scary flat tire on the freeway situation. Not only did they diagnose the one flat tire, they checked all of my tires and found that they were also all dangerously worn down. I am a poor college student and had a minor freak out when I realized how much money that would cost. Not only did the team at Don's go above and beyond to help me find an affordable way to replace my tires, they did it in less than 90 minutes! You cannot beat that. Thank you!! read more

We've been loyal customers of Don's for years. The customer service is great, everyone is always friendly and helpful. They never try to talk you into something you don't need, in fact, they've saved me from replacing tires that didn't need replacing more than once. As an added bonus I feel great about supporting a local, family run business. read more

DON'T FALL FOR "FREE FLAT TIRE REPAIR" save your money and go to a place with better service. Not only do they not honor their "free" offers, they take much longer than they anticipate.
