I was in the market for a newer used vehicle and saw one listed for sale on autotrader.com at Don's Tire + Auto in Butler, WI. When I went to go check it out in person, the vehicle was as the ad exactly described it to be. The vehicle was in great shape, had low miles for the model year, and was marked for sale at a fair, affordable price. I stopped by the next day and asked to take it for a test drive. Dan the owner was very courteous and had one of his mechanics warm it up for me first, which I was impressed by, as it was a pretty cold day! After taking it out for a spin, I was pleased with its condition and performance, and decided to buy it. Dan was super helpful in helping to arrange the financing for me, and later on that evening I was able to take possession of my new ride before close of business. Everything about my experience was top notch, and Dan was very nice, straightforward, helpful, and knowledgeable about his cars for sale and his business. When I moved to Menomonee Falls I was concerned about finding a auto repair shop that I could trust. During the bitter cold days in February 2026 I had a flat tire and no shops would look at it. I stopped at Don's Tire and Auto and they took my tire in and found that it had hole in the side wall. Could not be repaired. They had the same tire in stock and put it on for me. This was all done in a matter of hours. The price was very fair. Then I had two more issues that I needed taken care of before a trip out of state. Don's ordered the parts needed and set up the appointment. While my car was up on the rack they noticed a loud noise. Luckily, after they investigated it, they found that my water pump was almost ready to freeze up. Thank goodness they discovered it before I was half way to Iowa and my car stopped dead. Once again, I felt that they were very honest with their prices and I trust them, being a 75 year old widow I feel that they would never take advantage of me. The selection on the lot was good, with comparable models all around the same age and price point. All of the cars we looked at were exceptionally clean, and it was obvious that a close inspection was done. I have been going to Don's since I first bought my truck, for five years I have received nothing but first class treatment. Very honest, very good quality of work. It was efficient and always fair pricing! One time my catalytic converter went out and the job was going to cost $800-$1000 dollars (approximate figures) obviously being a student that was something I was not happy to hear. Don looked up himself if it was still under warranty which it was and drove it too the dealership himself and only charged me for the diagnostic. Another time I was in a bind and was worried about my heating core he stopped everything he was doing took a look at my truck and filled up my coolant. It was nothing but condensation from my A/C, he didn't even charge me for the coolant! Definitely hands down the best mechanic/auto shop in the southeastern wisconsin and probably the entire state! Girlfriend bought her Chev Equinox here last week . everything is great and they were able to get her Financing that was difficult at other places. so far she loves the car. and they even took time to show her how to work the options. small lot (40 cars ) but most we looked at were in nice shape . they seem a little under staffed for how busy they are, we had to wait 5 mins for a salesman , but overall worth the wait. car came with a free 2 mos warranty & a inspection report to tell us what is needed in future and what didn't work now & what was replaced already . What an awesome place!! Very satisfied with both the car I purchased and the employees who sold it too me!! Very nice and honest people. The owner dan is hilarious and very easy going. Helped me feel very safe and secure with the 2007 Chevy equinox I bought! I have also taken my car here for service my last 2 oil changes and plan on getting my oil changed here for as long as I can.
