The windshield of my truck needed replacing. I found Don's Mobile Glass on Yelp; it had great ratings. Yelp has a feature that allowed me to ask for estimates from Don's and other shops, which I did. Among the three shops, one high estimate came back quickly with no further questions. Don's asked for details and came back with a very reasonable estimate. The third shop was very delayed, so I called Don's and made an appointment for the next day. Although I arrived during the lunch break, staff kept checking to see if I was being helped. The truck was promptly fixed in about half the time estimated and I paid exactly the estimate. Thank you Don's for the courteous, friendly, and beautiful service. There is a large nationwide auto window installer out there but for us locals? Don's is superior. Perfect customer service from the very first call. I was allowed to talk to the tech that did my work in the shop. He showed me what was the issue with the leak in my rear window and what he did to mitigate it. So I was driving along one day on the freeway, when I heard a little sound. A few days later, my fiance noticed a crack in my windshield! As it slowly grew (and I did not take the time to patch it before it got big), I started trying to figure out where to get the windshield replaced. I was in Fresno and got a quote from a well-reviewed place there, but since I live in Merced, I decided to try out Don's Mobile, at least for an estimate. Their estimate was LOWER than the Fresno place, and it sounded reputable-- they said they'd replace my windshield if it gets a crack, the first time. So, I went in and left my car, and 2 hours later, walked over and picked it up. (they also offer fixing the windshield while you're at work, but I am done working for the summer). They are located downtown, so while I waited I window-shopped, had lunch, and met up with friends. The staff were friendly, the windshield seems to be doing well, and it was at a good price (under $200 to replace the windshield). read more

So not only did they offer same day service, but it was a good $50-80 cheaper than the other places I called. The gentleman they sent to complete the repair, Eduardo, was really nice and friendly. The job was completed very quickly and precisely. I have no complaints at all and would recommend Don's Mobile to anyone. I have to admit, there was a reason I called Don's Mobile last. I like to support the local businesses and I know that Don's is a chain so I knew that it was going to be a last resort for me. It pains me to say but I simply did not have a very good experience communicating with the local glass repair places. I can understand if they don't offer a certain service but they could have been more pleasant in conveying this information to me. I've been spoiled by Don's Mobile Glass. I've been taking my car there since it was GoodYear and they're incredibly efficient, friendly and trustworthy. I had been taken advantage by mechanics before and DMG has always taken exceptional care of my car. Not only would I recommend this place but I do regularly. ...Unfortunately they're not a star smog location which means for smog work I have to take it to other places. Well, I'm on my second smog specialized mechanic in less than a week and I keep thinking, "Man, I wish I could just take it to Don's!" So the only suggestion I'd make is become a star smog location so I can just take my car to there for everything. read more
