We spent an entire afternoon exploring Jordan Creek Town Center and it's easy to see why it's a…read morego-to destination. The layout is modern, clean, and inviting with plenty of natural light, walkways by water features, and a comfortable mix of anchor stores and specialty shops. Parking was plentiful (though busy on peak days) and signage made getting in and out manageable. The mall features over 110 popular retailers including Apple, Anthropologie, Pottery Barn, Sephora, lululemon, and more. We popped into Apple to check out the latest devices, browsed through Anthropologie for a few gift ideas, and also stopped by H&M for casual wear. The variety here means there's something for everyone in the family. The food options were solid too. The food court has familiar favorites; for a more upscale break, restaurants with patios overlooking the lake offer a more relaxing atmosphere. The staff everywhere we encountered them was courteous and helpful, especially in stores where we asked questions. The mall is well maintained, restrooms are clean, and common areas feel well cared for. We appreciated the amenities like stroller or wheelchair rental, device charging stations (outside Apple), and multiple restroom throughout. One thing to be mindful of: some mallgoers report that kiosk vendors by walkways can be overly enthusiastic--if you're not in the mood to be approached, it helps to keep moving. Overall, Jordan Creek Town Center offers a top-tier mall experience in the Des Moines area. Great mix of stores, nice ambiance, and strong amenities make it worth the visit.

P.F. Chang's - Orange chicken

As far as affordable chains/franchises go I put P.F. Chang's right at the top along with Biaggi's…read moreand The Cheesecake Factory. Of course the newcomer in town is Ruth Chris Steakhouse, but that is kind of in it's own league followed closely by Fleming's. Everything at P.F. Chang's is served family style which makes sharing a great option...not that my kids get that. Lol Decor is nice, subdued lighting, and a combination of booths and tables and chairs. We (myself and my two teenagers) stopped in for lunch on Sunday and started our meal with a couple sodas, a lemonade, and chicken lettuce wraps. Followed by entrees of orange chicken (x2) and the Mongolian beef (upcharge for lo mein noodles. We were greeted and seated immediately on walking in and we never hit the bottom of our glasses before being offered refills. I'm not a big fan of the orange chicken, but my kids love it. The beef in the Mongolian beef is thick and well seasoned. Probably one of my favorite iterations of this dish in the metro...though I would encourage you to check out Asian Cuisine in Grimes it this is your go to. Our total was $105 after tip. A little pricey for lunch, but it was an enjoyable meal and still probably cheaper that going to the Iowa State Fair. So not to scare you off most of the entrees run $15-$22 and would easily serve two. Fountain drinks are $3.50ish. The upcharge for the lo mein from rice was $2. We could have easily have trimmed almost $30 off of this just by skipping the lettuce wraps ($13) and ordering water, etc... Spending a little extra was on me for wanting to enjoy a good meal with my kids and all of us walking away happy with no regrets (as far as the meal itself anyway). I highly recommend the lettuce wraps, the dynamite shrimp, the Mongolian beef, and the Chang's spicy chicken.

Stink. I am so sad that my update to this previous review is just frustration. Our service was fine…read more- just not super attentive is all. Firstly, everything seems incredibly overpriced for the quality & quantity of food. Originally I would've bragged on the shareable sizes of orders - and this is true if you're ordering any form of entrees, but, financially be ready to pay for 2 entrees in order to be able to share anything with a family of 4+. Before when they use to do heaps of rice - it's nowhere near this anymore. My biggest irk was our booth actively leaking on us the entirety of our stay. I swapped out drinks & silverware verbally letting the server know that we were being leaked on.

The only downside is that there are not many options. There are usually only 2-3 entrees to choose from. They always have orange chicken. I have also seen broccoli beef, bourbon chicken, etc. However, they do not ever have sesame chicken, a personal favorite of mine. Every time I have eaten there though, the food has been excellent. It is always fresh and has good flavor. The lady who is usually working there remembers her customers and is friendly. She is very quick to get your food so you can get on your way. All in all, if you're shopping in the mall, I would recommend stopping here for lunch or dinner.

That's typically a red flag, but I was on the hungrier side and chose the quickest option. The two workers were quick and attentive. As for the food it was not very good at all, I ordered the orange chicken with fried rice. The fried rice was undercooked and tasted of old grease and freezer burnt vegetables. The orange chicken was overcooked and hard to eat with a old grease taste as well. I ate a good portion of the food so it wasn't completely unpalatable but I was not able to finish eating due to the old grease after taste. Overall wont be trying this again, and hopefully I dont get food poisoning like many others before have claimed.
