It's a Donair Dude. The staff are friendly but one thing I notice about this particular Donair Dude is that it doesn't have the same deals as the Downtown locations. The Downtown locations have a happy hour deal this month that makes eating here affordable with a pop and large beef donair combo for around $10. This donair Dude location does not. And I notice this Donair Dude sometimes is late to post the monthly specials compared to the downtown one. But other than that-this Donair is a welcome addition to Kits. The Donairs are fairly big and you can load it up and customize it like a certain Sandwhich franchise. Because this is a newer location the interior has a newer finish and there are more tables and chairs to sit down and eat. read more

Had the falafel donair. Really like how it is not super greasy like other donair places. The entire donair felt so clean and wholesome. Hummus as the spread Tzatziki sauce Lots of toppings to choose from. I went with lettuce, black olives, cucumber, some pickles. Lots of people getting donair to go here. Can't remember if there is metered parking on that part of Broadway, as we walked, but free parking should be available in the neighbourhood for those who are determined. This is my girlfriend's go-to place to grab food from with its generous portion size and consistent quality. We've only ordered for takeout. The price has increased slightly due to inflation but it still is a huge portion. I usually get the lamb rice platter and almost always have leftovers. Pita and hummus are free sides. They are decent but I find the pita to be a little dry. Recently, they switched lettuce for cabbage which I'm not fond of the new taste because of the bitterness but you can opt out on that. There's nice outside seating in the summer. The service is always great! read more

Me and my coworker last week ordered 2 falafel wraps using Uber Eats. We were both excited as we have never tried this place before. However, when the Uber eats delivery person came to our site we received the wrong order (He gave us something which had no wrap and was just 1 dish). We called Donair Dude and they told us to call back in 5 minutes as they were busy. 25 minutes passed and we called again. The server on the phone told my coworker that they are trying to call the Uber Eats driver and to call them yet AGAIN in 5 minutes. My coworker took the initiative and drove to the restaurant (which was only 8 minutes away). Luckily she got there just in time before the Uber eats driver who gave us the wrong order was about to deliver our food. I ate my wrap and by that time it had been already 45 minutes since we ordered our food. Come to think of it, I don't think we even received the right meal after my coworker picked it up. Donair Dude is a quickly expanding chain of restaurants in BC (now 6 in all), and it isn't hard to see why. There is a winning formula of great food at reasonable prices to go along with exceptional service and attention. I highly recommend the chicken plate and the lamb donair. I ordered a beef donair through doordash, but instead of a donair, the only item in the bag was A PIECE OF PITA BREAD. Are you kidding me? I can forgive forgetting an item, or forgetting a topping, but forgetting the beef and ALL of the toppings is not an accident. Someone had to have physically put the pita bread in the bag knowing that was the wrong order. I have to imagine this was a disgruntled employee who was fed up with their job, because I don't believe anyone is capable of being this negligent. Definitely have had better donairs in Vancouver. The second me and my friends had walked in, we were confused reading the menu because it was wasn't organized well. Half of my friends got the beef donair and the other half including me had taken Lamb with all sauces. The sweat sauce definitely ruins the taste and the way the cucumbers are cut, makes it taste super cucumber like. All of the staff seemed to us like it was their first day (VERY UNORGANIZED). Once a worker put all my toppings on he asked me if wanted cheese and i answered saying yes. He then gave me this weird face and said it cost more for cheese. I thought to myself why are you asking me at the end if i want cheese if you pay at the beginning. They should have each order written out right after you pay (UNORGANIZED). read more

The food tastes good and the service is nice. However, there is a key element to this specific location which is continually frustrating. I was this place's best customer going there almost everyday, and always leaving a tip too, however I totally stopped going there and now go to the location on granville because this locations meat portions are terrible. They try to make it so that the meat you have paid for is served in as small a scoops as possible even when you pay for extra meat. This has been frustrating for ever and I thought that eventually they would get better at this, however they seem to have gotten worse. If the GM or owner is reading this he should know exactly who I am and even asked me once why I dont come there too often anymore and as I wanted to be polite I did not say anything. I have seen him train his staff to cheap out the customer on meat portions The granville location gives much bigger scoops and a fourth scoop when you pay for extra whereas this location leaves you feeling hungry even after you have paid $15 for a shawerma. Stumbled in here by chance after a sporting event. It was shockingly good for what you pay. The Donair was crispy on the outside thanks to the high tech toaster which perfectly browned the outside donair and left subtle grill marks that didn't make it too crunchy or ruin the integrity of of the donair bread.
