Chicken shawarma over salad
John G.

I had shawarma in 5 restaurants in Vancouver and unfortunately this is at the bottom of my list. :( Taste, price and portion size. I can easily walk one minute for a more satisfying shawarma plate.

a box of food

Dude why is my meal so dry and flavourless? The salad, which I was really looking forward to, was mostly cucumber. Not much onions and the tomatoes were bland. The meat...what meat? It was dry and flavourless as well. $12 dude down the drain...

Empty "beef" donair (with falafels on the side)

I ordered a beef donair through doordash, but instead of a donair, the only item in the bag was A PIECE OF PITA BREAD. Are you kidding me? I can forgive forgetting an item, or forgetting a topping, but forgetting the beef and ALL of the toppings is not an accident. Someone had to have physically put the pita bread in the bag knowing that was the wrong order. I have to imagine this was a disgruntled employee who was fed up with their job, because I don't believe anyone is capable of being this negligent. This place actually has decent donairs, but you may not get to try them.

Terrible. Had to wait 90 minutes for delivery. When I called they would not refund. Don't waste your money!

Low quality meat, not worth the time to park, certainly not the money and left a lot for be desired on flavour. Won't be back.

Very delicious donairs, I would say they are up in the same tier as Donair town Robson and they are good.

I tried the beef Pita Donair. OMG, it's so big! I think it weights 500g; well seasoned and very tasty! I'll be back for sure!

The best choice for doner kebabs in Kits. Good quality, large portion, good price. Hard to beat that combo.

It's especially good if you have a group of people dining with you. That way you can share different dishes and enjoy lots of different flavors. The Mixed Plate is especially good for that. I have seen from their menu online that they also offer something called Padisha's Table which requires a minimum of 4 adults ordering it, and costs $36 per person. For this visit we had the following: Beyti Sarma Small Mixed Plate Cheese Lovers Pide Lamb Durum Wrap Veggie Guvech Turkish Coffee Turkish Tea The Small Mixed Plate came with a humungous slab of lavash bread! It was crazy how big this piece of bread was. We were a group of 5 people and this Small Mixed Plate by itself could have been our lunch. It was such a huge piece of bread. Sooo good though. They baked it in the oven until it got all nice and puffy, and it came to our table piping hot. I always enjoy this Mixed Plate starter. It comes with such a nice variety of dips. My absolute favorite dip though is the Baba Ghannush. I think next time I eat at this restaurant, I will add on a separate order of the Baba Ghannush so I enjoy more of it than what comes in the Mixed Plate starter! I loved my Veggie Guvech. The veggies were roasted and baked to perfection. I'm someone who likes my food soft, so I was happy to find that the veggies in this dish were nice and soft. The menu description says that this dish comes with Lavash. I didn't see any more Lavash bread come other than the huge slab that came with our Small Mixed Plate. Perhaps they did this on purpose though. The one huge piece of bread is equivalent to several smaller pieces that you might get in other restaurants. I certainly didn't need anything more than the huge piece of bread we'd already been served, so was very glad not to see anything else come with my Veggie Guvech. If you're a cheese love, you can't go wrong with the Cheese Lovers Pide. It's our daughter's "go to" dish when we order from this restaurant. She really loves her cheese! The people who ordered Lamb Durum Wrap said the lamb inside their wraps was very moist and tender. I do recall also hearing good things about lamb dishes from this restaurant in the past, when we ordered takeout from them. The Turkish Coffee and Tea come in some beautifully designed cups. I have travelled to Turkey in the past and enjoyed a hot apple tea in a Turkish Tea cup. The cup that was used here was very much like the cup I drank from in Turkey. I never had coffee when I was in Turkey, but judging from how unique the design of the cup here was, it's probably a very traditional design for a Turkish coffee cup since the Turkish Tea cup was just like the ones I saw in Turkey. Highly recommend this place! There aren't a lot of Turkish restaurants within Metro Vancouver. This place is an absolute gem!

We had plans to go across the street for gelato afterwards though so...had to control myself and leave room in the tummy for gelato. I ordered the Double Cheese Gozleme which is said to be a "traditional Turkish flatbread, expertly hand-rolled and grilled to a perfect crisp." It came with some slices of cucumbers and grape tomatoes. I very much appreciated the inclusion of cucumber and grape tomatoes. They paired nicely with the flatbread and made it a more balanced meal. I enjoyed the Gozleme; however, I wasn't blown away by it. There was no "cheese pull" and I think part of me was hoping to see some grill marks on the bread since it was supposed to be "grilled to a perfect crisp" but there were no grill marks to be seen on it. Also ordered a Matcha Latte to go with my meal. This was OK. Not something I need to order again. They clearly specialize in food and not drinks. The Matcha Latte wasn't horrible but also, not one of the better Matcha Lattes I've ever had. I think it tasted a bit too milky, and perhaps I might have preferred it slightly sweeter. My daughter ordered a stuffed Bagel with Olives and Mozzarella. This was covered all over with sesame seeds. She didn't care for the sesame seeds and spent a lot of time scraping the sesame seeds off. No fault of the bakery's though. She knew what she was getting into when she ordered it cuz she could see it in the display case. It's not like it was an item she ordered from a menu, and that they failed to write in the description that there were sesame seeds all over it. This was just a matter of personal preference. So if you're into sesame seeds, you might not have any issues with this item. My mom ordered a Spinach and Feta muffin. I tried some of it. Kind of reminded me of a quiche. I've never really tasted a muffin like this before. Muffins are usually on the sweeter side whereas this one was savory. I quite liked it. My auntie ordered a Beef Burek and she very much enjoyed it. I had a feeling she would as Beef Burek is something I used to enjoy back in the days when I was a meat eater. Need to come back and have the cheesecake again whenever next we make it over here!

Absolutely dynamite!!! Crispy, cheesy, and addictive. My dish: Alinazik Kebab - Grilled lamb over sauced grilled eggplant and yogurt, served with salad and bread. The lamb was insanely flavourful and delicious. I wasn't a fan of the mashed eggplant though (which surprised me because I usually love eggplant). It was okay, just not my thing this time. My husband's dish: Ground Beef Pide - Savoury flatbread topped with seasoned ground beef, fresh herbs, and sesame seeds. This was excellent -- super tasty and satisfying. My son's drink: Ayran - A traditional salty yogurt drink with mint. Not a hit with him Too salty and sour for his taste, but we appreciated the experience of trying something new. The servers kindly brought him a Coke instead and didn't charge us, which was really nice. My son's dinner: Adana Kebab (spicy) - Skewered spicy ground beef with rice, bulgur, salad, and bread. Fantastic!!! The beef was fresh and flavourful, and the rice and bulgur were soooo good. Service & atmosphere: It was pretty packed for Valentine's Day, so service was a bit hit and miss and slower than usual -- but totally understandable. The atmosphere made up for it, especially with the live Turkish music. It genuinely felt like being on vacation for the night, and I loved that feeling. Overall: Definitely worth the wait. Great food, great vibes, and a fun dining experience for the whole family.

Huge restaurant, looks like they host wedding/event from looking at the other reviews. On a Thursday night, only 3 tables were filled, so majority of the restaurant is empty. Service was friendly, tad bit slower and difficult to flag them down because of the large space but we weren't in a rush so that's okay. Free parking in a lot on the side. Quite a few spaces.

Even offered to give a bag to carry both the baklava and the leftover food from the restaurant. Took them back to our hotel across the street and ate them in the room. I was a little disappointed in the chocolate one. It was good, but a little dry for my tastes. The hazelnut was very good, but the layers came apart when eating it. (not fresh?). It faces the burrard inlet so you can get a water view if sitting outside. There sell many types of baklava and we tried most of it. My favorite was still the traditional pistachio. The chocolate was quite sweet. I also had a chicken and cheese burek. That was pretty tasty. My friend liked the Turkish tea. Turkish coffee was also on the menu. I had the cappuccino which was really good. Smooth coffee. I just disliked the fact it was served in a paper cup despite us dining in. So we were also charged the cup fee. Again, the fee is not helping to save the environment by reducing waste when shop owners are serving drinks in paper/plastic cups.

As for the pot of Turkish tea (3.99), it came in a nice set with sugar cubes, definitely a bit on the strong bitter side but very pretty and great for sharing. Same with the pistachio halwa (6.99), I found it to be quite bitter and am not sure if that's the norm or not.. didn't love it. But overall, I liked the ambiance and the service was good, the server answered all my questions! Bonus points for the jazz playlist they had playing during my visit.
