My favourite Donair place! The prices are fair, and it is super flavourful. I always get the Hawaiian chicken Donair. They pack in all of the toppings with a ton of meat and load it up with delicious sauces which I love. I also got the poutine once and it was great. They make it to order. I wasn't a fan of the chicken poutine though because there was too much meat. I swear more chicken than fries, but, is that a terrible problem so have? Most people would be overjoyed haha. Shared a Chicken/Falafel mixed sandwich with my wife over this past weekend. It was a spur of the moment stop to grab something, hadn't read any reviews and probably should have. The handheld was stuffed fat and the veggies were fresh, however, this meal journey unfortunately does get darker from here on out. The Falafel was not fried to order, under-cooked balls were microwaved which leads to an almost inedible chewy grossness. Chicken shaving was portioned great but inadequately spiced, not as moist as one would expect or want. The one staff member was unimpressed with being at work, craftsmanship suffered accordingly. Also, this place has literally the worst Donair Sauce on the planet, tasted like Ranch Dressing. Not my jam, will avoid future disappointments. read more

This place is filthy! The staff/owners sneeze and cut meat during COVID, none wear masks or hair nets and they are VERY rude. Also, as other reviews have stated, they try to sneak in extra charges for cheese by just showing you the full amount on the debit machine and don't offer a receipt. I almost always get the chicken donair or rice platter here. Tasty marinated chicken meat. The sauces come together very nicely.& the hot sauce they use has just the right amount of spiciness. I really like the arab rice that they use. Fresh vegetables. Generous portions. Once in a while I get the Hawaiian Beef Donair. They add this slightly sweet sauce with pineapples that's very good. I read good reviews on this place, and I can definitely say we will not be back. It wasn't the worst thing I've ever eaten, but when I was expecting a flavourful donair, like you get downtown on Denman street, this is a lunch-bag let down. Pricing was ok, but everything else lacked in flavour. The greek salad was mushy. The meat had no flavour, and it was just overall, blah. We won't be back. In all honesty. Great price for right outta the bucket/pail everything. NOTHING is made in house, but the thing that's driven me to review this place is the fact they sell a wide variety of "Arizonas". You know the fruit punch/lemonade or whatever that have ".99¢" on the can.... If you pay attention they actually charge you $1.50 + deposit of the can and if your paying by interact they charge you another .25¢-.30¢ to use their machine; PLUS tax!!! One Arizona would cost you $2+ dollars a can through debit and or $1.60 cash plus tax. When I asked the older woman with the scar she simply said "I work here". With no other explanation. 7-11 convenience store sells the same cans for the REAL price 15 feet away. read more

The food is great, and the prices are fair, but the service leaves a bit to be desired. The older gentleman that works there is hardly polite and almost begrudgingly prepares your food. The younger fellow is nice though, as are the two women. I usually get the exact same thing, but rarely pay the same price - it seems to fluctuate by +/- 50 cents depending on who I'm being served by. Once upon a time in Port Coquitlam there was only one donair place, and it was Donair Affair. Now? There are several places around town to grab a donair. So how does it hold up? The Good: Menu is what you expect from a donair shop, and they also sell beer the last time I checked. The daily specials are a really good deal. The 'Meh': The food can be really good to really terrible, it's inconsistent. I wouldn't grab a platter from them because their rice isn't the best, but I would grab an actual donair. The prices are competitive with the other donair business around town. The Bad: The place looks filthy, and like I said the food is inconsistent. The staff (except for the actual owner) isn't the best either. The Verdict: Two stars which means "I've experienced better," if I could it would be a two and a half, but honestly a place that is "A-Ok" in my books has to be consistent in something, which Donair Affair isn't in service and/or in the food. Yet, like I said, there is an odd time that you get something very good from the place. This place places between "Donair Town" (Highly recommended), and "One Stop Donair Shop" (Highly unrecommended). Odds and Ends: I think the washroom has been out of order for months now. read more

They NUKED my falafel - immediate fail. Falafels must be fried fresh and crisp. I would have happily waited but I was not even asked. Fillings each seemed to end up in their own location in the pita and not nicely mixed up. A few bites tasted like wallpaper paste not sure if it was the falafel or the sauces. First timer here at this kebab spot... not bad, the meats already shaved and sits in a warmer all day, so who knows how long its been there. a bit tricky if you havnt been before, or fully read the whole giant menu... on the bottom corner it says 'extra cheese for $0.50'.. when they ask you if you would like cheese, they just place it on there and dont tell you its '$0.50' extra.. I hate that. I assumed the cheese comes with it.. anyways something small like this erks me sometimes. Oh and if a customer is waiting, dont slow down, speed up! I've only lived in Coquitlam for a little while, literally two weeks. However, it was only a matter of time before I got fed up with trekking to Vancouver for my eats, and got a local to show me around town. First stop, Donair Affair. The appearance of this restaurant leaves something to be desired, I'll say that. However, I'm more of a grab-my-food-and-go kind of customer, so that aspect really doesn't matter to me. I got a regular lamb donair with all the good stuff on it, and after my fiasco at Plateau Donair, I did not have high expectations, but it turned out to be surprisingly tasty! These guys lost a star, only because I have experienced the delight that is Donair Dude on Davie St, and the fact that they grill their donairs gives them that extra something that other donair shops lack. Not skimpy on anything; a great portion with the perfect balance of meat, veggies, and sauce that made this grab 'n go meal a real treat to find in my new neck of the woods. Donair Dude may be my one true donair love, but our long distance relationship is going to cause me to have a Donair Affair. I'll be back! read more

I have tried most of the donair shops in the tri cities and I gotta say even though I'm usually baked when I end up eating here it is fucking amazing. I always get the lamb the meat is very well cooked (Crispy on the outside juicy on the inside) The staff is cool, they just smile at my difficult orders...I have learned just to say "one lamb with everything including the sweet sauce"(must try if you haven't) they also have a buy one get one on homemade baklava, which I don't recommend because they are so amazingly delicious and addictive that your gonna want to eat them all!! to the honest that's the real reason I come here the amazing donair is just an added bonus read more

I have tried them several times in the hope that they would be better, but no more. They ask things like "do you want all the toppings", then at the end up-charge you for all the add ons. They NEVER advise anyone that it costs more. They make the food without care.. they literally "slopp" it on. Finally at the end you find out they dont take credit cards? What.. how about you enter the 1980's... but OK.. they say they take debit.. then they add another up-charge on you. I grew up in Poco and used to eat here all the time! It's been open for at least 12 years now... Which is saying a lot as most of these donair places don't last more than a year or two in Vancouver. I now live in North Van, but anytime I visit my family in Poco, my husband and I make sure to get a donair from here! The quality is easily the best that I've had in the lower mainland! I've tried the chicken, lamb, and beef... but the chicken is my fave. The donairs are fresh, juicy, a little messy and HUGE! The value is great for the price you pay. We only ever get a regular size each, as the "super" is just too much food for us! Haven't tried the platters or fries, but I will definitely try the baklava soon based on other people's reviews! read more

I had the worst experience here! The staff were really, really rude. The Food didn't seem that great and their prices were high. They even charged me $0.25 to use my Debit card on a $10 transaction -- nobody does that! I do not recommend, this place was really bad and I will never go back again. Pretty great and large donairs for $5! I'm able to eat half and feel stuffed and save the other half for another meal. The veggies are fresh and they have variety of types including: a Hawaiian one which has pineapples, Lebanese one which has tabbouleh and hummous (yum!!) and they put cheese in some of them! Always loved this place! Use to live down the street but moved. The bald guy is awsome, good service freindly and makes good donairs. A few years ago I went with my mom and we got Donairs...there was one guy working there who was a total prick...I had to repeat my order to him so many times,...he didn't seemt o speak english well...and I was pregnant and totld him so many times "no hot sauce for me I am pregnant"...I was watching him make the donairs and he was way off what we ordered and he was putting hot sauce on mine...I asked him what he was doing and he totally flipped out on me saying this is what I ordered and he "told me so many times..." How do you get "no hot sauce I am pregnant" to extra hot sauce on a preggers donair! I've never seen him again after that incident....but all together minus the idiot, this place is pretty good! read more
