After wating 2+ hours sitting at the Discount Tire in Bee Cave with no one even touching my car (which was supposed to be completed in 90 minutes), I learned my lesson with these giant, private equity owned retailers that don't care about service firsthand! So I called the only locally owned tire shop I could find in the Lakeway area (Don Rucker) to repair my tire and it was the perfect experience. Just like Discount Tire, they told me to come in and, unlike Discount, they took care of it promptly with no high pressure sales for tires/wiper blades/TPMS rebuilds and I was on my way. It's not free like Discount, but it's definitely worth it! I'll certainly be back when I need anything else. read more

These guys are the absolute best at what they do. They have serviced our cars for years and always give good advice.

Dishonest and incompetent. Give them something simple like changing a tire and stop there. They could not replace a broken tire pressure sensor from my Lexus RCF. I paid around $750 for a new tire and a new sensor. I gave them 4 chances to get it done and they could not do it. They finally blamed the car. I went to the Lexus dealership to find out that they had installed the wrong sensor and the car is just fine. Every time I went there, they tried to train the sensor and ask me to ride for 20 miles although they knew they did not know what they were doing. They were probably thinking that I would just give up. I ended up paying for this twice. Sheer dishonesty. read more

Usually not big on leaving bad reviews for small business, but these guys and the owner especially need to be held accountable. These guys ruined my wheels after requesting a tire swap and instead of owning up they said to take my business elsewhere after the damage had been already done. Owner needs to grow a pair when it comes to situations when he's in the wrong. Not very professional. Overall Value is pretty garbage with a simple $150 job costing more than $800 in damage. read more

Ughhh - sooo disappointed. I want to use local shops. They may be good with tires and wheels. DO NOT TAKE your vehicle there for ANY type of engine repair. I took in my jeep 3x to them to fix an overheating issue. They replaced the termostat, water pump and radiator and it was still overheating. Then I was told by Guy that the header gasket was blown and that the engine needed to be replaced - 11,000. I got a second opinion at QualTech (they did not charge me for diagnostic) and told be the thermostat was bad. Replaced it and the jeep has been running smooth for three weeks now. I hate writing reviews like this ... I want local business to succeed, but Don Ruker Tire & Auto did nothing to make up for this and clearly do not have the staff to properly diagnose and repair engines. read more

If I could give higher stars I would!! These guys are AMAZING! Today was Friday the 13th with a full moon to top it. The day was going alright nothing too exciting, hopped in my car after leaving my clients house to start the trip from Bee Caves to 45/130 during the start of rush hour traffic. Driving through Lakeway I hear something hit under my car. I quickly glance in the rear view mirror but don't see anything. So I continued to sing along to the radio and enjoy the drive. A few miles down the road I start hearing a noise, turn the radio down, roll the window down and then say WHAT THE MOTHER CLUCK??! That sounds way bigger then a nail, Oh crap. Pulled over to quickly find this hunk of metal in my rear drivers tire. . I quickly changed back into my work shirt and was ready to dig for the spare when I checked Yelp for tire repair nearby and called these guys. Thankfully they were only about a mile up the road. The moment I pulled in these guys were on the ball!! Sadly (and I had a feeling) the puncture was too big for a plug but they hooked me up with a new to me tire at a good price. They slapped that baby on in minutes and I was back on the road! Super nice, very quick, professional and I'll add one heck of a good lookin group of gentlemen they got over there. Had a great experience with them. Kinda pricy but the staff was very cool and responsive.

My father purchased a set of the recommended Nitto Ridge grappler tires on 12/28/19 for $2,800. Not only did he pay the full amount for the new rims and tires but they put the wrong size and had to pay an extra $600 to lift the truck due to the fact tires were scraping the bottom. Turns out that after $3,400 one of the tires 6 months later begins to fall apart with pieces chipping off. When my father went in to see about getting it fixed they said that they couldn't and he would have to pay for a brand new tire while they sent the old one to the manufacturer to see if it was in warranty. My father agreed to pay the $279 with the promise that it was going to be sent in and be reimbursed when he heard back from them. After the installation we asked if they had our contact information, to which they responded with "the tire is trash and INSTEAD we are going to throw it away." On top of that, all sort of reimbursement was off the table as they confirmed the tire was unusable. Was it seriously necessary to take the tire off to confirm it was unusable? Absolutely not. Instead they lured us in with installing the new one and then telling us after they had no intention of doing as they said. So here we are felling angry and lied to because they recommend "great" products only to have them not even last 6 months and cost us extra to lift a truck because they recommended the wrong size. The cherry on top was being lied to and almost disposing of the old tire AFTER they had already installed the new one. We checked out the manufacturer warranty ourselves and found that this brand covers next to nothing when it comes down to it (see pics). Shouldn't they know what they're selling and not just promise a lasting product. It's a classic case of selling cheap parts for profit. We were told the tires would last and be a great investment but at the end of the day they don't know as much as they should. Almost 4K spent at this business only to be lied to and brushed off to the side. We will never be coming back here knowing there are better places in the area. read more

Got a nail in the tire of my Porsche 911, unfortunately my wife had already driven about 5 miles on a completely flat tire before realizing it. I don't put more than 2,000 miles a year on the car so I didn't want to have a brand new tire mixed with 4 year old tires. I picked up a 4 year old used tire on eBay and these guys were more than happy to mount and balance it for $30. My wife is also pregnant so they were happy to do a contactless service to avoid potential coronavirus exposure. I asked these people to look at my A/C to see why it was not blowing air out of the front vents on a 1994 GMC van,,I knew that it was probleyjust a vacuum hose But I couldn't find it. Asked at they would look at it..Asked what they would charge to fix. Was told, If nothing big was wrong maybe $10 or at most $30.. I went to pick up the van and was told I owed $40. I took my truck here for a tire balance and rotation. When I picked up the truck in the afternoon and went home everything seemed fine. The next morning I noticed that one of the rear tires that was now on the front was very low on air and the stem valve cap was missing. I took the truck back to Ruckers on the way to work. When I pulled up only "Donny' was there. When I explained what happened he told me they didn't open til 8am(It was 7:50 am) and that was it, didnt offer to help or air up the tire. I had to go to a gas store across the streetand pay $1.00 for air. Donny(i'm guessing the son of Don Rucker), did not apologize or offer an explanation.
