This restaurant is right down the street from us. We go here 2-3 times per week, or we did. The food is fresh, portions and price are fine. The problem....an important part of dining can be your beverage. I like a brewed Iced tea. Not from a gun (chemicals who needs them). The had the best Iced Tea---one of the reasons we went so often. Well they changed to awful tasting tea from a gun. The reason: they threw out a lot of the tea per the waitress. What that 25 cent commercial tea bag for 2.5 gallons isn't a big enough profit margin? Seriously at $3.50 per tea order, you are still making money. I would pay $5 if needed, it makes my meal! I am diabetic so soda and many mixed drinks are off the table. This small cost savings just cost them over $200 bucks a week from one customer, one! Wonder how many more are like me? Did the thrown out brewed tea cost $100 per week? Doubt it. This was a great find while visiting Manchester. I'd go again if in the area. The set up was a classic Mexican culture set up. the layout was split into dining area an a bar area. Perfect for family's who want to enjoy a restaurant setting or for people want the perfect mixture of dining and drinking. The service was great. We were seated quickly, received drinks in no time, and the food came out not too long after being put in. The food was fresh, and as authentic as you would want your Mexican restaurant to be. Place was very cool looking inside, nice music, beautiful light in the bar area, clean, loved the booths in the bar area. We are new to the area and made a last minute decision to try this place and we were not disappointed. Julie was so nice and offered suggestions on drinks and food. We shared the choripollo chicken with chorizo on top covered in cheese YUMMY!!! Served with beans and rice and tortillas. Chips, guacamole and cheese dip are very good. Skinny Margs made to order are great. Service here is very good, so is the music in the bar area. Every dish we've ever had here was excellent. Highly recommend especially in the summer when you can sit outside. read more

Food quality was good. Two problems I had were: I ordered Fajitas, they should come with tortillas so that you can wrap your fillings into them. There were no tortillas in the order , just the fillings. Also, I ordered fajitas that had scallops in the filling. There were no scallops. read more

We love Don Ramons!! Especially love taco Tuesdays!! 1.99 tacos and they are filling, the bartender is great as well as the staff, they give the best chips and salsa and I recommend the chorizo dip! While I was in Merrimack, which has a handful of choices for Mexican dining, I decided to stop in at Don Ramon (a former Wendy's) on a Tuesday night (a week before the shutdown of dining-in at all restaurants in NH) and it was also Taco Tuesday when hard shell tacos (beef or chicken) was only 99 cents each. I arrived at the host stand and the owner who was wiping down menus seated me promptly in a spacious booth. I could see the dining room was nicely decorated with colorful art and ornaments. A basket of complementary chips and salsa was brought out by a server. I was immediately all set to order and got an ice water, 3 Beef Tacos and 3 Chicken Tacos. The chips were warm and crunchy and the mild salsa was not thick. The plate of 6 hard shell tacos arrived to my table in 7 minutes. The tacos were overflowing with lettuce, cheese and soft meats (ground beef & shredded chicken). Though messy to eat, I dipped each of the tacos (shells broke) into the mild salsa for a very filling dinner. I was all set and the check came out to $6.47 with tax and before tip! Overall, these simple messy tasty tacos offered here are very similar to the tacos offered at a few of the other Mexican restaurants in Manchester, which also have Taco Tuesday deals too! I will note the chips here at Don Ramon were fresh and crunchy, unlike their sister restaurant Mi Jalisco (Manchester) where I was given stale chips. read more

While in town on vacation we tried this restaurant based on the recommendation from a member of the hotel staff were we were staying. Sadly, we were disappointed. We arrived slightly after 8pm and maybe that is why our experience wasn't the best as they close at 9pm. The food was average and not as authentic as I expected based on the recommendation. The chicken on my taco salad was dry and lacked any flavor. However, the chicken in the mango quesadilla was not dry or flavorless. As far as service, we were sitting in the bar and the bartender was attentive and friendly. She brought over a drink refill without even being asked which always is a plus for me! If we were in the area again, I would give this place another try. Maybe it was an off night or the time of night that created the lack of food consistency. read more

We went Wednesday 11/20/24 around 2:30/3pm and sat at the bar. A female waitress walked over to greet us asked us if we wanted chips and salsa and what we wanted for drinks. I requested a drink menu and my bf asked for water. Well the chips and salsa never came, and then the bartender Bobby came and kept rushing me to choose a drink, there was only 1 other person at the bar and a couple finishing their meals in the restaurant so I didn't understand why he was rushing me at first. The first drink I ordered was a Mai Tai with Krakin Rum and they didn't even have the rum so next I got the sunset margarita. After he made my drink he took our food order and was never behind the bar again. He sat in high top table on his phone. So he basically rushed our service so he could sit and do nothing. Food arrived but like I said no chips and salsa, that would've meant Bobby the bartender getting it out back from the kitchen. I got the Papas Locas Fries, they were mediocre. The fries came freezer section at Market Basket. The jalapeños were from a jar not freshly sliced. My bf got the grande burrito, it was grande but that was from all the rice the packed in it and little to no steak. We won't be back, between the mediocre food and the staff that just sits in the booths and plays on their phones(saw the waitress doing the same thing on the way out) while they have customers I'm not throwing my money away. read more

Our order did all come out correct however, on the phone I asked if there were onions in the grilled chicken chipotle agave tacos, she said no and I said okay good because someone in my party can't have them. Sure enough, there were onions cooked and mixed in with the chipotle chicken. They also came with melted American tasting and looking cheese AND sour cream. None of that was mentioned on menu and I can't have dairy. Lastly the taco salad.. it looked like a child size.. I honestly thought it was a container of condiments... yikes. Never in my 47 years have I had a bad experience in a restaurant by a male that he called himself the manager. Since we sat down he was giving us an attitude and treating us in a bad way. He started mumbling something in spanish when he was walking away, for sure it was something bad. The hostess was nowhere to be found. All the Waitress were sitting down chatting without doing anything. Took long to give us chips, drinks and food, the food was great but I will not come back, they treat us awful, sadly when we left we noticed he charged us more ( No idea why ) They Should clean the bathrooms more it had a smell and the toilet seats were dirty and papers all over the floor, 0 stars if I could. read more

Cute place in Merrimack for some Mexican! I recommend sitting outside if you can by the fountain, it's so pretty! The food is good and similar to other Mexican restaurants in the area. Their house salsa is mild and more puréed but still good. The service though was outstanding! read more

I don't like being negative on here, but I have to be honest: I'm completely mystified by the positive reviews of Don Ramon. This is not good food by any means. For example: the guacamole, which is not cheap, is incredibly diluted by sour cream and/or mayonnaise, which is a common cost-saving method that m, unfortunately, tanks the final product. The flavor of the food is truly authentic Mexican and the portions are healthy every thing we tried was delicious from the tacos, Chile rellenos, enchiladas, burritos great food. I stopped in for a lunch/dinner. They only had one server working the entire room and he did as best as he could. It was busy and he was stressed. I started with a grapefruit margarita and it was fantastic! I had it in the rocks and it was powerful and took the edge off. I ordered the ceviche which was absolutely delicious. It was colorful, full of flavor and a huge serving portion. I also had a beef quesadilla which was heavy, filling and super delicious!! I was stuffed and plenty to take him. Got shit on by a bird here because there is a birds nest right above the outdoor tables. Asked for wet wipes, they had none, guess they are the only restaurant operating during COVID-19 that isn't using wet wipes. Fine. Asked for napkins, they came back ten minutes later with three napkins. Still leaving 25 percent tip so the waitress can pay her rent. We're all in this together. Seriously tho, really good food. Met a few friends for lunch here based off a review from one of our friends who had ordered takeout a few times and enjoyed it. From the outside it looks like a Wendy's still but once inside you will see that it is transformed into a Mexican hideaway. We sat outside. Unfortunately the views aren't the best. However they have set up the outside patio to look very nice. Our food and drinks were both great. Service was fast. We had the Taco Salad and Quesadillas. For cocktails we ordered the sunset margarita and the White gummy. I'll attach pictures. I'd say give this place a try. If you can look beyond the exterior you'll love it. read more

I was so excited to try this place. Sad to say it was very disappointing. Food was good but the service was so terrible. We were 4 adults and 1 child. Only one meal was correct. I really do not know where the disconnect was, but terrible. The last correct meal came as we were leaving. I think the person who took our order went home. We never saw her again. This please really deserves a 3.5, but our waitress was stellar, so I'm rounding up. First of all, the food scene in Merrimack is tragically bad. It has been for pretty much as long as I can remember. Over 30 years, at least. The only real bright spot here is Buckley's. This is the town that gives Tortilla Flats a 4.2 on Google. That place is atrocious. It smells like sadness and town drunks. The food is terrible. I would say this place is on par, maybe a little better than El Tapatio in South Merrimack. The beef is a bit on the greasy side, but the steak was great. Guacamole was incredibly good, probably the best I've had at a local restaurant. Prices are very reasonable. I would definitely eat here again. My son loved it, which is rare for any restaurant, and he said he wanted to have his next birthday dinner there. That's a big endorsement, since the kid hates pretty much any restaurant I've ever taken him to, aside from Red Robin. It's not a compliment necessarily, cuz he has terrible taste in restaurants, but if you have a kid that hates everything, they might like this place. read more

I'm talking waiting 30+ minutes for a drink and everybody's order coming at different times AND being wrong. I ordered quac and it looks like they just gave me a side of it and charged me $5. I was looking to get an appetizer size of it to share with the table. At other restaurants they put it in a stone bowl and spruce things up a bit. The bar looks like a frat house set up but the drinks are good and inexpensive. This place is worth it on Tuesday when they have .99 cent tacos and you have a few hours to spare to wait for them. I will give them the benefit of the doubt that they are new and it seems like the patio servers also had a slammed dining room. The food is good, El Tapatio is way better. read more
