We stopped here on our way back from dinner. Very clean and new looking inside. The line moved quickly which was nice. Few tables outside if you want to sit. Few on the inside. The girl serving it could have been a little nicer. The gelato was very good. We got hazelnut and chocolate.

Right next to the Duomo you will find this gelato place that serves a lot more than gelato. They have coffee , pastries and more. It's a great location mostly for tourists I believe. Prices are higher than other places but you are in the middle of Florence tourist area, it's expected. The gelato is good and so are the freshly baked pastries. Great spot for a break during museum hopping or a late afternoon snack. They are open late so it's convenient. I did get gelato a few times from here. Loved the chocolate mint and the hazelnut.

Only had cannoli here and it was very yummy... Hard to find a place that makes fresh cannoli to order. Only other place that I had cannoli this good was in Sicily.. I will have to come back and try other goodies.

First of all, the food here was great. All we got was some macaroons, a few assorted flavors of gelato. Good gelato, and flavorful macaroon's, however my point deduction is not because of the food. 2 stars have been deducted as a result of a certain policy they felt the need to enforce upon us. Originally we went to order at the counter, and they told us if we intend to eat in there we can take a seat and someone will come attend to us. So we decided to sit and a really nice waiter came quickly. However, we went to order, and he told us just a simple cup of gelato absolutely needs to be ordered from the outside counter. So he took our order for our other food, but then made me get up and walk outside to order a simple cup of gelato, even though they had originally asked us to eat in. Like I said earlier, the food is great, but had it been an extremely busy tourist day, we would've left when asked to go back outside.

If you're anywhere near the Duomo, stop here! Get the cheesecake to go. We got Mango but there's other flavors. This is not your average cheesecake. It's like a cheesecake & a strudel had a flight fluffy creamy baby. She makes them fresh every morning. It's an adorable shop right next to the gorgeous & iconic Duomo. Seating inside & out. I'm so sad we're leaving tmrw & I can't eat this cheesecake every day!

Who craves gelato at midnight in the cold? You should too if you can't sleep cause you're still jet lagged and too excited to be in Italy! It was nice to hear them greet me in Italian as soon as I walked up. Sometimes you only hear them speak to Americans in English in this touristy area and they don't even give you a chance to practice your Italian! Here, they were so polite and knew just when to jump in for my gelato rescue when my Italian got a little rusty. You can order from outside at the gelato counter display, or there's a nice seating area inside with good WiFi. It's nice, clean, bright, and pretty inside. They play familiar tunes you'll probably sing to as you contemplate whether you should have gotten a bigger cup as you try to savor your last teeny tiny spoonfuls as long as you can. They don't have a huge gelato selection but they had most of the standard flavors; salted caramel, coffee, pistachio, banana, Nutella, and a few sorbets. I had pistachio and caramel scoops in a cup and they topped it off with a half chocolate-dipped wafer cookie and it did the trick. They had a bunch of other baked goods, pastries, and chocolatey things that looked pretty good on display. Overall, I'd come back if I have another late night craving and will try their other sweets next time.

Pistachio macchiatos and a cannoli duet. Next time, just get all pistachio.

Love Don Nino, in both Florence and Rome. Yes it's in a touristy area, but most people going to this specific location next to the Duomo are on vacation and tourists. Don Nino's specialty in my opinion is the pistachio cream. Make sure to get the cannoli with pistachio cream and a pistachio macchiato. Their gelatos are superb as well and not too overpriced. The pistachio and coffee gelatos were my favorite. And you can't go wrong with a cafe freddo with a touch of cream to wash down your gelato goodness.

Nice place to chill, eat dessert, drink coffee, people watch and look at the view. Location: It is beside the Florence Cathedral, I was just sight seeing when I look at this cute place, there is a display of desserts and they have outdoor seating. What is amazing with this place is you can sit outside and look at the duomo and cathedral. Service: the servers are okay, I didn't have interaction with them. Food: I only tried to items here. CAPPUCCINO: it was good, taste like the real italian coffee! PISTACHIO ROCHER: omg it is soo good! It has pistachio white chocolate inside! A must! Price rating: 6 out of 10. Not that bad for the deliciousness. A must when you visit Florence! You can chill and look at the view while you are eating dessert and drinking coffee. Pistachio Rocher is a must!

This place has incredible cannolis and coffee! It's super cute located right outside the duomo. You can get a beautiful view of the duomo while enjoying your pastries. You have to try their ricotta stuffed cannoli dipped in chocolate chips. It's incredible. I would definitely recommend this spot!

Came here after dinner one night for cannolis because it was too cold for gelato. We made the mistake of getting the regular sized ones instead of the mini ones and they were super overwhelming and really sweet but still good. I got half hazelnut filling with candied almond bits and the other half was traditional ricotta filling with chocolate chips. I recommend just getting the ricotta filling!!

The absolutely cutest shop. You must try the pistachio cannoli with a cappuccino. Seating next to the Duomo while you wait for your tour.

My boyfriend and I stopped here for a lunch gelato after visiting the Uffizi Gallery while our travel group. Very yummy! It was pretty crowded but they do have both inside and outside seating. We ordered from the outside counter which is open to the street. We ended up sitting inside at a counter that allowed us to look to the window and people watch. They had a pretty big selection of flavors. We both got three scoop dishes (waffles cones; plain, dipped with nuts, sprinkles, or pistachios, available). I had two scoops of Oreo and one of chocolate. The Oreo was good, had a very strong vanilla creme flavor to it. I do wish there had been more Oreo pieces. The chocolate was very rich and creamy. My boyfriend had two scoops of Nutella and also the Oreo. He said the Nutella was okay but the Nutella he had had in Venice was better. They do stick a pretty circular waffle cone piece for decoration. Price wise, they were average. I think it came to around 10 euros for both of ours. If you are in the area this isn't a bad place to choose. Is it the best in the area? Probably not but still a good option. I would go back to try some of their other flavors!

They have a wide assortment of gluten free goodies -- from cookies to pies to savory bread-based delights. It's all priced quite fairly, too. I came in around 6pm on a Friday, and the kind woman behind the counter advised me to come back in the morning because they had more things in the mornings. I was sincerely baffled and said-- wait, more?! To me, they had a ton of great options even at 6pm! Apparently the cases are packed full in the mornings and if you want your best pick of the lot, go then. But if you're like me and not able to do that for whatever reason, you'll still find plenty! I can't have gluten or dairy. Sometimes it's hard to find dairy free goodies in a gluten free bakery. Not so with Starbene! They had cookies, pies and tarts as well as some bread-based savory items -- all clearly marked as without dairy. Grazie, Starbene!! Made my whole night! I ended up getting some cookies (3 for 1€) -- they were almost like thumbprints, with blackberry jam filling and with chocolate hazelnut filling. So. Good. I also got an apricot jam tart (~3€, I think). It was also delicious! The apricot jam was just the right amount of sweet and the crust was perfectly flakey. Plus, there was a heart shape on top which was just the sweetest little detail. I also got a focaccina, which was kind of like a bread roll pizza without cheese or sauce. It was super good! I took it up to Piazzale Michelangelo and enjoyed it with a view of the city. Perfection! My next visit to Florence, Starbene's will be a must do. No question about it. Gluten free friends, get yourselves over there and enjoy!
