Eddie, the son's owner was willing to stay after hours to wait for my car to be dropped in their garage. AAA took over 2.5hrs to get to the garage, I dropped the key in the slot. He came to the garage early in the following morning to inspect my car. He ordered the part and charged me under $1500, which was just amazing! I wasn't from Upland, had to pay for a hotel, pay for my food and my lfyt rides to get an around. So they helped me out so much (I'm tearing up just writing this) Upon speaking to his Dad, I found out Eddie works on his whole families vehicles.. from Benz to Beemers. That his Dad is proud of what he has built and even more proud of the type of mechanic (little) Eddie is. That they believe in customer service versus charging customers ridiculous prices. Changing this starter cost me a ten minute YouTube video and about 20 minutes of work. A ratchet, an extender, and three metric sockets. Bananas. This repair was easier and cleaner than an oil change. I get it that it's a shop. I get that not every starter is going to be this easy, but you can walk over to a parking stall with the new starter and bang out two or three of these per hour if you're a professional. If you need quality Toyota parts quick, this is your next best thing to a dealership.
