    Strawberry and mango margaritas
    Jenna M.

This is the place to go to have a good time! It is very busy, but the service is on point and staff is super friendly. We skipped the wait and sat at the bar, and some of the drinks that the bartenders were making were pretty awesome! It was a great show. Very upbeat, lively restaurant. Prices are a little steep for the neighborhood area. Drinks: We had the strawberry margarita, and the mango margarita and they were both flavorful. I didn't notice till after- they have a margarita sampler and must try next time! And looking at their menu, look up the patron tower.... For food, we ordered the quesadilla de Kamaron (YUM!!), and also the King Burrito- wow! Big boy.

My partner and I came during happy hour, we ordered the molcajete and ceviche with fish. The service was quick and the staff were all very sweet and welcoming. While we waited for our food they brought chips and salsa. The chips tasted fresh, crisp, and the salsa was the perfect amount of flavor with a bit of spice. The molcajete was packed with food, the sauce was sweet but mainly spicy. On the side it came with beans, rice and tortillas. The ceviche was refreshing and tangy. There was plenty of food for the two of us and we ended up taking home half of the ceviche. The space was decorated so cute and was bigger than I expected. I will definitely be back and I'm looking forward to my next meal!

My partner and I have this thing where we try out a new spot in search of the best molcajate dish. We came to Don Kamaron on a Saturday night close to 8pm and there was a 25 min wait. Seeing how packed the place was, the line of people waiting to be seated only enticed us more! When seated, we were greeted with the best customer service i've received in a long time! Our waitress thanked us for our patience, and was personable with us through out our entire time there. We of course got the molcajate. Chicken, Steak, Chorizo, and The best shrimp! The cactus and cheese were perfectly cooked. This molcajate has made its way to #1 on our list and we have tried many molcajates. The hot cheeto sushi was good too but wouldn't necessarily re order. We got shot of whiskey that were poured at our table and filled to the tippy top! We will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.

Today my wife and I enjoyed scrumptious Tacotes, one chicken and one Bok Choy with house made salsa. Also, the Tetela de Requeson, maiz, beans and sprouting broccoli with a house made requeson - kind of like ricotta cheese - very beautifully plated and so delicious. Extra side of yummy and creamy black bean frijoles with sour cream, butter, tortillas. Instead of desert, the Mezcal, chile and lime was refreshing. Right now open for lunch Thursday through Sunday 10-3pm. No fixed menu, changes with what's fresh - the way chef Angel loves to cook respecting what is in season. Yes, the food plated looks so good, I am inspired to dig in. There's a reason it was recognized early in its start by Eater, Portland Monthly and the Oregonian as one of the best restaurants in the city because foodies seek out and love to go where the food experience is special - especially the chef tasting menus in the past. I was excited to go here as I had been meaning to visit for at least 6 months. I wasn't disappointed. This taqueria is the real deal, and very authentic. I also appreciate it's LGBTQ owned, and like to be inclusive in how I spend money. The tacos are amazing I had two there, and took two home. They were all delicious and not one disappointed. Their taco menu is very extensive, and it's nice that they have a lot of vegetarian options as well. One of my favorites was the one with mole ,and poblanos, also the chicken one, also the carnitas. Flavors so rich and satisfying. The staff is very friendly, and helpful. Extremely quick service which I love. Even though I only speak a little bit of Spanish. I tried, and they were very welcoming. They are fluent in Spanish. I knew it was an authentic taqueria when I heard a native spanish speaker speak Spanish at the counter. I don't want to leave out their drinks as they have quite a selection both alcoholic, and non alcoholic. I tried the horchata, which was amazing. I have been craving Pozole for a long time, and they had it as a special chicken with green sauce, and pork and a red sauce. Both simply amazing and a great deal. This restaurant is very reasonable, and you get quite a lot for the money. Last but not least I can't forget the ambiance which felt very authentic, and reminded me of being in a Taqueria in Mexico or Southern California. the place is decorated very thoughtful with a lot of candles, and many shrines. They also have a love of Mariah Carey and saw many photos of here in the restaurant. They have both outdoor seating and indoor seating. A lot of plants outside which all seem very happy and well cared for. I love this place, and will be going back for sure. The place is very casual which I appreciate. By the time we left around 6 PM, the dinner rush had started and a line was forming at the door. The interior is well decorated, modern, and clean. The server was friendly and service was fast. We ordered the bowl, one with carnitas and other with avocado. Both were very tasty! You can tell that the ingredients were fresh, the carnitas were tender and well seasoned. They also had a mango hot sauce brought to the table in a bottle that is amazing. I drenched my bowl with the sauce for the extra kick and flavor. The bowls are very filling. We ended up boxing up half of our food to bring home and finish for a late dinner. Would definitely come again and try their hot sandwiches. I have had some meals at the bar where the bartenders were genuinely engaged knowledgeable and happy to walk you through their agave list which only enhances the whole experience. I will be honest and say that the service can sometimes lean into the typical Portland vibe of aloof and uninterested but there have also been moments especially at the bar where the staff really shines and makes you feel welcome and taken care of. Even with that quirk the overall experience is fantastic and it does nothing to take away from how much I enjoy eating here.
