went to Don K Chevrolet in whitefish on Saturday 4/4/26. I was looking to purchase a new or used vehicle. I wanted an SUV with Leather Heated Seats, Auto Lift gate and I needed a warrantee. I mentioned that I had a lot of items at home that I would need to tow. I drove a few different vehicles and settled on the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox premiere. I had a firm price range that I had to be in. I needed to be out the door for less than $30,000. I was very clear that I did not want a Subaru and I did not want to finance anything. When we went inside, they started talking about the warrantee. That was pushing me way out of my pricing that I could afford. I was very clear that I could not pay over $30,000. Then Blake, the sales manager, came up and asked if I could take a 3-year bumper to bumper warrantee instead of a 5-year bumper to bumper. He mentioned that it could save me some money. I asked if that could get me in the price range that I needed to be in. Then Blake came up with a paper that showed the Balance due of $29,413.33. I was thinking that it was out the door. I said thank you so much for getting me out the door for under $30,000. He said that he needed to get a deposit and then we will be done. I said that I would need to go to my house to get some cash. Then they gave me to the finance guy. The finance guy said that he wanted me to sign the contract before I left just in case, they got busy. Like an idiot I signed the paper and then headed out to my house to get another check and some cash. the amount that they said I would need to come back with just didn't make sense. So, I looked over the paper, and I noticed that they charged me more than I thought it was going to be. So, I got to the house, and I called them and I said Hey this vehicle was much more than I thought it was going to be. they said That I signed a contract and I was obligated to get the vehicle. I said I don't want it for that price. I had not taken possession of the vehicle yet at this point, but they said that I have to take it because I signed for it. I mentioned that I wanted to unwind the deal. I was extremely irritated, but I just didn't know what to do. According to them I had to pay the balance and take possession of the vehicle because I signed a contract. It was extremely irritating. I was very surprised that they would not work with me. They were closed on Sunday, so I called them 1sst thing Monday morning. I mentioned the price was an issue and by that time I noticed that the vehicle only towed 1500 lb. U needed a vehicle that would tow more than that. As I mentioned on Saturday, I have a lot of items that need tow. They mentioned that I signed the contract. Then I said I thought you had a 72 hour worry free guarantee. At that point Blake said that f I come back down before they close at 6pm he will swap this vehicle out for another one. So, I head down to Don K Chevrolet on Monday 4/6/26 before they close. Blake was not there I spoke with Travis Squires. At 1st he said they only have Subarus. IU mentioned that I cannot accept Subaru. I do not like the brand. He said that was all they had to show. So luckily, I had a couple of vehicles to ask about. I mentioned the Ford Edge Serl that they had on the lot. He took me out to look at that. He showed me the outside of the vehicle, and he said that it was not detailed yet and he did not have the key He said that he would extend my coming back so that I could test drive that one the next day. Then on Tuesday I contacted the dealership and they did not have that vehicle detailed yet either. I contacted them on Wednesday then again on Thursday and now again today on Friday 4/10/26. I'm not sure what is happening now. They have not contacted me back. I just really wanted to unwind the deal. Swapping vehicles out was a last resort and now they are not even willing to do that. At least they are not returning calls or messages. I feel extremely upset that they would treat me this way. I cannot recommend them because if feels like they did not do a very good deal for me. What's the change of a Chevy, Jeep GMC dealership only having a Subaru the only vehicle that I specified that I did not want. Went in today to drop my car off for the appointment i made a month ago, and the first thing that happened was i stood at the service writers desk before someone asked me what i was doing there for 5 minutes and when i said i was there to drop off my suburban Fucci then welcomed me up to his desk, meanwhile he was just sitting there laughing away at whatever was funny. Customer service sucked. Fucci then proceeded to ask me again what i was doing there, and i again stated that i was dropping off my suburban off for the recall i called about and scheduled a month ago. He then got annoyed and stated that if the dealership didn't call me it was probably because they didn't have the part. I then stated that that wasn't my problem, I live an hour away from the closest Chevrolet dealership and that if they didn't have the part it was their responsibility to let me know before i drive all the way down there. He got hissy and told me to calm down at which i said you better see what's going on before i get really upset. He said he was gonna go talk with his supervisor and see about the situation, to which i replied, good. Fucci comes back and tells me that the part is in and that they put my name on it, my thought was why did you start something up without checking first? I was so livid. He needs to learn a lot about customer service before he can work in customer service. Will definitely try Corwin next time! ‍ read more

They had a used car I wanted, told me it was in getting a recall done and getting refreshed for the sale. Told me that I had to put $500 down to reserve the car, I agreed since I am in California and they said it was the best way to reserve the car for when it's ready. They told me with the $500 I had the price locked in and the car locked in for me and once the car was ready I could decide if I wanted to get the $500 refunded if I didn't want the car or put it towards the car. I put the $500 down and then not even a day later they call me and tell me (might I add not even nicely) that they had made a "mistake" that the car I wanted they didn't plan on selling actually and they wanted to send to auction. They gave me 2 choices, pay for the car in full without even seeing the car OR get the $500 refunded and lose the car. They literally went back on their word even though we have it in writing, I thought about seeing legal counsel but figured what was the point? Even if I did get them to sell me the car at the agreed upon price they would probably mess it up before I get there to mess with me so I just let it go and got my refund. What's REALLY interesting is that the car is still up for sale on MULTIPLE used car websites so clearly the car IS for sale and for some reason they didn't want to sell it to me. I can't think of any reason besides possibly racism? They didn't know that I was Asian until they saw my last name on the contract for the $500 deposit, that's literally the only that changed, which is surprising to me since... is my money not the same as anyone else's money? oh well horrible experience, they weren't even apologetic which is what made it worse, finance guy had a rude attitude towards me on the phone when I asked if I could just fly out there now and check out the car "ABSOLUTELY NOT!" like relax bro read more

The rep was courteous, fun and knowledgeable. We were interested in a used car. The rep mentioned a Nissan 2018 for $15,000. Which was the top line of our budget but car was not at dealership yet. We had to wait 3 days to test drive it and We should guarantee to test drive it first for a $500. Credit card hold. ( which we did) We came in on time test drove it -liked it and ready to buy it- then the "games" start and we were hoping Don K would not play games. The price suddenly went up $1000. And that's not counting The $590. Fee that they tack on for detailing etc. That took all the joy and trust about moving forward and we left. read more

I brought my 2018 Chevrolet Traverse to Don K for service. The problem was a serious safety issue in that the seat would move spontaneously while driving. As I had experienced with my RAM truck purchased there the previous October (parking sensors stopped working and was given an appointment to get it looked at in 3 MONTHS), it took weeks to get it evaluated. Meanwhile, my sales representative and 3 of 4 Chevrolet and RAM service representatives left or were fired between October and June. When they finally looked at the Traverse, I was told there was a service bulletin in 2020 describing a problem with leaky door seals that were now causing the problem with the seat due to corrosion and the repair could cost me over $3000 even though the problem had been described while the vehicle was under warranty. I was told to call GM customer care and put a claim with my insurer for "water intrusion." I did both, but both GM customer care and State Farm each tried to contact Don K service three times to obtain information and never received a response. When I met with the general manager, I was told the Service Manager said "I was abusive" with the staff and if I was unhappy I could take my vehicles elsewhere. This is the worst automobile service department I have had to deal with in my 77 years and the purchase of over 10 new vehicles in the Flathead County over the last 25 years. Obviously, the son who is now general manager is afraid of losing any more service people and would rather insult his customers than provide service. read more

I have 2 jeep renegade that we can never get in for service. Now our 2021 renegade turbo (that our 20 yr old son drives for work) is having lights come off and on, getting stuck on (my husband had to show him how to disconnect the battery) and once off it doesn't restart all the time. There is 20,000 miles on the is vehicle, still pretty new. And full warranty Only problem is Don K won't get us in until MAY 5. At this point I want to just dump all our jeeps if we can't even get them in for warranty work. It's very frustrating he has to get to work and to have a brand new new car not reliable or usable for the next 4 months is pretty messed up. read more

The lack of communication from the service department was very disappointing. Several phone calls over several days went straight to voicemail and no call back. Finally, physically showing up to the department we got some answers about the vehicle. We were informed that the vehicle was on the racks and the "best tech" was working on it. Well, it took the "best tech" three weeks to finish a simple fix. We were not communicated with about anything. Very disappointing considering how great the Subaru part of Don K is. read more

The Don K Body Shop in Whitefish says they will only charge $20 to repair a chip in the windshield. I found out why it's so cheap....because they tell you it can't be fixed and that your car needs a new windshield! Since my auto insurance has $500 deductible for windshield replacement, I went to the Glass Doctor in Kalispell and they repaired the chip for $69 in ten minutes! So you decide who you can trust! read more

I bought a truck over the phone, as the model I was looking for was very hard to find. I tried to haggle, but they informed me they couldn't budge on the price but could offer me a small gift card. I flew up to Whitefish from Denver on a Saturday, and had to be back to work on Monday, so needless to say I was a little short on time. They had me in and out in about an hour, but I had to specifically ask for a tank of gas, and I realized after I was 100 or so miles down the road that there was no gift card included in my paperwork. The dealer was kind enough to text me later that night to see how the truck was, and with that text and every text since then I've kindly asked if he could put the gift card in the mail. It has never shown up. I know this is a small thing, but it is bugging the heck out of me. I can't exactly drive 15 hours back to get what was promised to me. I feel like I was taken for a ride over a small bargaining chip so they could get their sale. read more

My Dad bought a new truck here, his first in over 20 years, so we were extremely excited for him as he really deserved it! With this brand new truck, he was promised oil changes. He called multiple times to inquire as to getting the oil changed and was told to wait until it showed up/told him in the vehicle (and this being his first vehicle even having a computer to tell him this, he trusted them). However, when the notice finally came on in the vehicle and he called to schedule the oil change, the dealership said it was overdue and they would no longer honor the oil changes he was promised and supposed to receive. Please, please do not trust this dealership. To the dealership, please don't make promises and then make your own rules so you don't have to honor those promises. You took advantage of a very good, honest, hardworking person. Terrible customer service with yelling and rudeness like no other.
