    Show me the sensors

I bought a 2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport new from Kalispell Toyota. I have 5,000 miles on this truck, I told them that the truck gets 14 MPG, the transmission slips occasionally, the electronics went out and says malfunction see dealer. I did hit my trailer handle with my bumper, but it did not cause any major damage to my truck, just raised the bumper about 1/2 inch underneath the tailgate. Everything worked fine for about 2 months. Then the electronics went out. Nothing to do with the MPG or transmission. Nor do I know for a fact did the bumper issue cause the electronic problem either. The service department tried blaming me for this. They said they couldn't find anything wrong with the transmission, yet there are other early build Tacomas that have failed transmissions. They were supposed to look in the transmission pan for shavings, but they did not. They were supposed to look to see why I only got 14 MPG but they said they checked it out and couldn't find anything wrong. Yet at the same time, they told me that they could not read the codes and I would have to go to a body shop to have them repair the damages to the sensors? The sensors that they couldn't read? And if they couldn't read anything, how could they find out anything wasn't wrong with the electronics with my fuel or electrical system on the truck giving me such poor mileage? Also, when I told the service rep that I got the same mileage towing as I did when I was driving in town, he then tried to suggest that perhaps the transmission slipping problems that they couldn't find were because I was towing? I have probably purchased half a dozen Tacomas from that dealership, NEVER AGAIN! Yes I hit my trailer handle on my bumper. But IT DID NOT CAUSE THE TRANSMISSION, POOR MPG, OR THE BACK UP CAMERA OR ALL THE OTHER SENSORS TO GO OUT. I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS DEALER AGAIN! CROOKS

This dealership is great! They're honest and easy to deal with. They didn't hound me or make me feel pressured to buy a car. My sales person Ian was extremely helpful and transparent with me during the sale. Ian explained every part of the deal, and I didn't feel like he was tricking me in any way. He explained that they try and make about $2,500(ish) per sale, and they want everyone to come away with a fair deal. The sales manager Jesse was knowledgeable and helpful, and even matched the Kelly Blue Book Instant Trade in quote! We came to a agreement that I felt was fair, and I walked away with some new keys and a big smile. 5/5!

    This beauty is here.

I was a littke miffed that they intended to charge $29.95 to check and top off fluids. They did a service on my vehicle instead because I was close to the service date. Very nice people here. Both of the men I spoke with here are originally from my home area, so it was nice to chat about the difference between Montana and California.

If we could give zero stars, we would…read more Our experience with Clark Nissan has been disappointing, and terribly upsetting and just aweful. Esp when it comes to the service dept. Customer service is not good and at times we question competency with valid examples. Our Nissan truck was purchased brand new, is only several yrs old, and has fewer than 50,000 miles on it. Yet it has required so many trips to the service dept that we've lost count, w/nearly every visit lasting at least a week. Most recent repair has now stretched beyond 3 weeks . That is completely unacceptable for a vehicle of this age and mileage. Communication and follow-through have required constant effort on our part. We are not just experiencing delays; we are repeatedly forced to escalate to management because when we contact the service dept, they seem unconcerned. We are repeatedly dismissed w/an attitude of complacency and given unreasonable excuses-just to get basic answers or action on repairs that should be straightforward. Another major issue is transportation. They no longer provide loaner vehicles+only offer a shuttle ride home; that doesn't solve the problem when your vehicle is unavailable for wks at a time due to delays on their end. My husband has repeatedly been left without a vehicle for extended periods of time b/c of this. Warranty coverage - we were initially told a repair was not covered and would cost several thousand dollars to fix! My husband had to contact Nissan directly to get the issue resolved b/c the dealership did not advocate or do the necessary legwork - we still don't have our vehicle back after over 3 wks. My husband had to track down a manager himself after weeks of delay just to get an update and potential movement on getting the truck back. The most serious concern involved the brakes. After our service contract expired, my husband performed brake work and discovered the driver-side brake hose had two large bulges that appeared ready to rupture. We immediately had it towed to the dealership because it was not safe to drive. They were also informed at drop-off what was wrong and that the vehicle is used for heavy towing. They replaced a brake caliper and one brake hose, which required bleeding the brake system+ then sent us home telling us the problem was resolved. Thank God my husband looked under the truck when we got home. (unfortunately we couldn't trust their word). Still we really could not believe the damaged brake hose w/visible bulges was left in place! despite being present during the repair. They let us drive home in it. We felt so disillusioned that the truck was returned to us in that condition. This created a serious safety risk. A brake line in that condition could have failed while towing a heavy load, with potentially catastrophic consequences. After we contacted them, they sent someone to retrieve it and ultimately replaced the damaged hose. This should never have happened in the first place. Because this is the only Nissan dealership in the valley, customers with warranty work have very limited options. Unfortunately, that makes these repeated issues even more difficult to manage. In the beginning, when the truck first started having issues for no clear reason given its age and mileage, there was at least one service advisor who was somewhat helpful. After that person left the dealership, the service experience changed for the worse and has been consistently poor since. This service dept has become an ongoing operational failure marked by long delays, poor communication, disputes over coverage, and repeated situations where we have had to fight for basic resolution. What if a young person or elderly experienced these things and didn't know how to advocate for themselves? They would be out a lot of money or potentially injured due to pure laziness. Based on our experience over multiple visits, we cannot recommend Clark Nissan at all; in fact we suggest you go somewhere else to buy a vehicle.

Took the car back the next day and *they charged me to fix the tire.* I would expect any dealership to sell a $34k car with 4 good tires. (Plus I could have gone to leschawb for free) They also sold me several warranty coverages with the car. All of the warranties are with third parties. However these warranties were all falsely embellished. Turns out, oil changes are not covered even though they were highlighted in the $3,900 "full maintenance" package I purchased. If the dealership was willing to work with me on any of these issues I would not be writing this review. They were pretty uptight in their customer service to remedy any of these issues.

I…read moreshould have been clued into the shadiness of this business when I was hesitant to buy because I would have to pay a large amount up front to add the car/my son to my insurance since I have a six month pay in full policy. They told me that I didn't need to add him as he would be covered as an occasional driver with just my name on there. I still decided to push forward as the car was in good condition from what I could tell (not a car person) I should have had the car inspected prior to buying but some of the issues should have been stated or addressed before putting the car on the market. I took the car to a Subaru dealership after purchasing and they found dry rot on the tires and the exhaust manifold needed to be replaced. When I reached out to Marketplace Auto, they were so unprofessional. I just asked why the car was for sale with these issues and sent them a list of recommended repairs. Wayne, the person who responded basically said that the Subaru was "just trying to scam me and charge me a bunch of money." I was in no way obligated to do these repairs but since this was a car for my son why would I say no to recommended repairs? Not to mention the fact that it would void my service plan if I don't take recommended action (which none of the repairs were covered by the service plan). I would have found the response of "too bad you bought it as is" as an acceptable answer, not bad mouthing another dealership. Not to mention he recommended he could "find me a better deal." Sorry but I'm not out to get the absolute cheapest repairs when the safety of my child is at stake. 2nd issue I had was with the license plate. After the temporary license plate expired, I went to the dealership to get another one (I had heard there was a shortage on license plates so wasn't bothered by that delay). When I got to the dealership, I found out they had the license plate for over 3 weeks and never reached out to me. They also had a check to refund me for overcharging me on the licensing they had been sitting on. While I was there, I filled out paperwork to cancel the service plan (10/4) and was told it would take about a month to see the amount removed from my loan. After about 5 weeks I called the service plan company, and they stated they never received the paperwork to cancel. I also noticed while on the phone with them that the dealership had put the wrong VIN number on the paperwork. I asked if I could cancel myself and they said no. I then called Marketplace Auto again to inquire why the cancelation was not being sent/processed. They said they would look into and never called me back. I called yet again and Preston sent me an "confirmation" of it being sent. The "confirmation" had absolutely nothing with my information so it in no way confirmed MY cancellation was included. He said it would be another 3 weeks or so to process the cancellation (this was 11/18). I have since reached out via email (12/10 & 12/17) with no response. This is just unacceptable and would hate for anyone else to fall into their trap.

The Pre-Sale Disclosures & Negotiation During the test drive, the vehicle's visual condition was fully transparent: it had cosmetic wear, bent body panels, old/no-name/mismatched tires, aftermarket wheels, shaky brakes, and a convertible top that would not open. The salesperson explicitly stated they "checked the convertible top fuse and it was good," framing the roof issue as a minor, innocent electrical mystery. I negotiated a purchase price that fairly reflected the vehicle's cosmetic state and the assumption of a standard electrical repair for the roof. I willingly signed an "As-Is" agreement based entirely on those specific disclosures. 2. The Discovery of Mechanical Sabotage Upon taking the vehicle home and performing a professional, multi-hour manual teardown to diagnose the top, I discovered severe, undisclosed structural damage. The entire underlying roof assembly, linkages, bows, and hinges are physically bent and snapped beyond repair-requiring a $10,000 retail replacement. Furthermore, I discovered that the top's interior switch and hydraulic system had been deliberately disconnected. This was not normal wear-and-tear; the system was physically bypassed to prevent the roof from moving, which actively concealed the twisted and broken structural metal frame from being discovered during a standard pre-purchase inspection. 3. Unjust Enrichment and the Arbitration When I confronted the dealership with the diagnostic photos of the bent and broken frame, hinges and linkages, they admitted they already had an active wholesale arbitration case open with the selling agent regarding this vehicle's defects -a critical piece of legal and mechanical history they actively withheld from me during the sales process. The dealership then requested my personal diagnostic photos to submit to the auction. They successfully used my labor to secure a $1,500 payout from the auction to make themselves whole. However, when it came to resolving the issue with me, they attempted to pocket the auction money, hide behind Montana's "As-Is" laws to protect their profit, and refused to provide a fair retail remedy to fix the $5,000 structural deficit they delivered. When I requested a fair retail remedy to fix the $5,000 structural deficit (using my own labor and a used salvaged roof), the dealer retaliated by rescinding all offers entirely. They are now pocketing the auction's $1,500 payout-money they only received because of my diagnostic labor-and leaving me completely empty-handed with a broken car. Conclusion An "As-Is" clause is designed to protect a dealership from unknown mechanical wear; it is not a legal license to misrepresent a vehicle's history, hide active legal disputes, or sell a vehicle with a bypassed, structurally compromised frame. Because the dealership has refused to provide a fair settlement to make this vehicle whole, formal complaints for material misrepresentation and deceptive business practices have been filed with the Montana Department of Justice Office of Consumer Protection and the Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) Dealer Licensing Bureau. Buyer beware.

In mid-December 2025, I scheduled an appointment to look at a used Toyota they had listed. I arrived, test drove it, and raised a few concerns that could have affected my decision. When we returned to the dealership, I was then told the vehicle had already been sold and was only awaiting pickup. That was the first major red flag and showed a serious lack of communication between sales and management. The salesperson then presented me with another option: a used 2013 Hyundai Tucson. I was told the vehicle had an "impeccably clean" inspection and service record. Based on that representation, I moved forward. I traded in my vehicle, put an additional $1,200 down, and left believing I had purchased a reliable vehicle from a reputable dealership. Less than 3,000 miles and about two months later, the check engine light came on. The code was P2006 for the intake manifold. I contacted the dealership hoping for assistance or at least a reasonable conversation about repair costs. Instead, I received little communication and was left with a $500 repair bill. I assumed the issue had been fixed. Unfortunately, in early May, the vehicle began having problems again while driving. The RPMs climbed while the speed stayed stagnant, so I pulled over and restarted the vehicle. The check engine light came back on. When I scanned it, the same P2006 code returned. I called the dealership and explained that the same issue had come back after I had already paid them to repair it. I also explained that I am now in East Glacier Park for the summer and do not feel comfortable driving the vehicle along Route 2 in its current condition, especially in areas with little to no cell service. I asked for help towing it back to their facility for diagnosis and was told they would not provide a tow. This is extremely frustrating. The same issue appeared shortly after purchase, I paid Clark Hyundai to address it, and now the exact same code has returned. From my perspective, the original repair did not properly resolve the problem. I have made multiple attempts to contact the dealership, including voicemails for the General Manager, emails, and LinkedIn messages. Those attempts have gone unanswered. I understand the vehicle was purchased "as-is," but that does not excuse poor communication, lack of accountability, or failure to properly address a recurring issue. I was sold a vehicle represented as having a clean inspection and service history, yet within months I have had repeated mechanical problems and almost no meaningful support. At this point, I am asking for basic accountability and a reasonable solution. I expected far better customer care from Clark Hyundai. UPDATE: I received an inspection report showing the vehicle was 14,000 miles overdue for an oil change when they took it in. This raises serious concerns for me about material misrepresentation. UPDATE 2: I received a quote from another repair shop because I no longer have faith in Clark Hyundai to properly address the issues. My total repair costs since purchasing this "impeccably clean" vehicle are now around $2,000. My advice: steer clear of this dealership.
