We ordered delivery from this restaurant to our hotel on our way down to the outer banks and I'm so glad we did because the food was amazing. I got the takoyaki which was gooey and flavorful with nice bites of octopus. I also got a side of the tonkotsu broth which was rich and robust and really delicious. I also got the soy garlic chicken rice bowl. It was a great meal the portion was massive with tons of chicken, rice cakes and rice in a super nice takeout container. The chicken was crispy on the outside with a nice crunch while still being juicy on the inside and the soy garlic sauce was delicious the rice cakes that came with the chicken were chewy and fun to eat while also having that great flavor. I have been seeing Domoishi all around Hampton roads. So I had to try it, I got the ramen noodles with the Tonkotsu base (spicy) with pork belly's. I was not a fan of the Tonkotsu base it was kinda bland, the pork belly's was good could be better if they were fresh , the eggs were nice and sweet. I just discover that I am not a fan of corn and edamame together which was unfortunate because it was in my ramen. coming from the west coast, I have high expectations for poke and I was honestly ready to feel disappointed when finding a poke spot here. This was the first poke spot I tried since I got here and honestly, I love it. Whoever makes my bowl in the morning on the weekdays, I appreciate you!! Great portions & the price is also pretty fair. I am on search for the best Poke in Hampton Roads. I heard so many good things about Domoishi from my coworker and yelp, and I've been wanting to go there since. While we are still waiting for their Suffolk location to open, I went to their Princess Anne location. Domoishi offers ramen, poke bowls, korean wings, and milk tea. It's pretty much a one stop shop for the FAD foods nowadays. Coming in to the restaurant, I was quite confused if I should order my bowl or pay first. At Domoishi, you have to pay for your bowls first before they make it. Which makes sense because they offer other entrees other than poke. We ordered a shrimp medium poke bowl and a tuna/salmon/shrimp poke bowl. As they were making our bowls, I noticed that there were not a lot of toppings for the bowls. I also noticed that they do not mix the proteins with sauces. They put the sauces on top once all the your bowl is ready. As for the taste, I think I had better poke bowl than theirs. Maybe it was because I wasn't enjoying the taste and the texture of the crab meat. Their crab meat has a rubbery and rough texture. Because of that I really didn't enjoy my bowl. Since there's not a lot of toppings, my bowl tasted plain. The mango smoothie was good though. It was sweet and delicious. The staff was nice and was very helpful. I became the annoying customer who wants to try every single sauces they have and they were able to help me out in picking the right sauces. If you like to go to restaurants who offers everything and are undecided on what you are getting, this might be the place for you. As for me, I think I will stay away from OneStop restaurants in the future when it comes to Poke. However, I might wait until their Suffolk location to open so I can try their wings and maybe their Ramen. read more

It's been my third go to domoishi. The first time i came here I tried the poke (pick 2) and their milk tea. It was ok. The poke was a 2 on my scale.. it's hard to beat the taste of poke, especially if I was to compare it to my poke making skills. My husband and I are from hawaii.. so we haven't found something that beats our taste. Since we make it at home quite often. The poke, wasn't something to rave about.. it's a lot of fillers and it lacked sea salt. Lesson learned.. The boba tea was meh. It was room temperature.. wished it was cold and had more sugar. I went to try the chicken wings but since it was sometime after the grand opening they told me it wasn't available at this time. The second time... I came to try their ramen.. its a fast casual type of restaurant so I understood not to have to high of expectation... the broth was good the noodles was cooked fine but the toppings was lacking. The Ramen Bowl wasn't my favorite but it did the job and filled my cravings. I'd give it a 3 But if anyone was to come here.. I'd recommend the chicken wings and drums. It's the usual soy garlic or spicy garlic chicken wings, crunchy and flavorful. The chicken isn't huge and overly breaded. it's flaky and worth it. Third time: Came through to pick up my order of Korean Wings. It took them 20 min to have it ready for me. We took it hope and there was nothing to complain about. Due to covid they only do take out and I recommend calling in advanced to order. They are clean and they put tables for self ordering. Gonna move it up to 5 stars because for the price, the amount of food in their 2 protein poke bowl is wonderful and better than some other places where their large is the size of a small. I think Domoishi gets a bad rep because it is a chain, but their karaage chicken and their poke bowls are very yummy. I like this location the best because, well, it's closest to me and Target and I have yet to be disappointed by them! I love to get chicken and shrimp or shrimp and spicy salmon and load up the toppings, as you can see in my picture! I was craving chicken wings but bonchon is a little too far. This is my second time eating from here. I ordered over the phone and unlike bonchon, they promised 10-15 minutes (bonchon take at least 30). Upon arrival, I have noticed they set up tables by the door with card swipe machine and a little pad for customers to order without approaching employees, which is neccessary to protect all for time being. And they won't accepting cash due to covid 19 either. As I paid with my card, employee grabbed a prepackaged bag to be then off I went. I tried Domoishi for the first time about a month ago, first time I walked in after a long day at work and asked the associate what was good. She recommended the wings. I ordered the Katsu rice bowl, Thai sesame chicken and wings. Walking I. It took less than 10 minutes. We liked it so much that we got it again two days later. DO NOT pay $1.50 for "all the toppings" on the poke bowl. You can just click everything. I thought it would include the kimchi and avocado which are $1.50 extra each. When I brought it up to the people who worked there, management was not willing to budge. The one young woman who just got the job there (she said she was new,) was super nice and friendly. Not sure why they couldn't give me something for the $1.50 that was paid since it was literally for no reason. You can individually click all the toppings and get the same result. Definitely a scam. We finally got around to trying this place and it didn't disappoint! The place was well lit, a bit modern, and they had a free detox water at the end of the counter. We sat at a booth/table that was against the wall. We started our order with fried gyoza, which was very hot but delicious. I was having a very difficult time deciding if I wanted ramen or poke, because they both sounded great. But I decided to share my boyfriends chicken with him. He chose all soy garlic. When it comes to taste, and texture: Domoishi beats Bonchon. But the size is so small. But for someone like me that doesn't eat much, it was perfectly portioned. I heard this place had better wings than Bonchon, so of course I had to check it out. When I walked in, I was amazed at the interior. Everything was so clean and well put together. The staff greeted my friends and I, and were patient with us ordering. I decided to get the 12 pc Soy Garlic Chicken Wings with a Mango Smoothie. The wings...were soooo delicious. Even the day after ordering them, they were still crispy and delightful. The mango smoothie was pretty great, too. If I could give this place 3.5 stars I would. I had Domoishi bookmarked for a while and finally decided to give them a try. My new obsession is Poke Bowls and I've been on a quest to find the best in the area. The inside was very hip and clean. The cashier was very friendly. The set up to order was a little different. You order your food, pay, then head over to the station and choose the items you want in your bowl much like Chipotle and Subway. Oh, just a heads up, they no longer offer the boba drink with the purchase of a poke bowl or Ramen. My poke bowl was good but I've had better. They did have lots of selections to add in the bowl but it wasn't as flavorful compared to the other places I've been. The packaging was cute and they even give you a reusable take home bag. I will probably be back to try the wings because I keep reading how delicious they are, and maybe the ramen. To sum it up, it was a good experience and I will be back. read more

After my BFF told me the wings here were better than Bon Chon's I HAD to give this place a try. I was running errands and decided to do takeout. We had some issues on the phone due to their WiFi but I was told my order would be ready in 10 minutes. First thought- 10 minutes? These wings won't be crispy at all, not to mention it'll get soggy in the takeout box. I also ordered a small poke bowl. I pulled up and my order was ready to go. I was also surprised with a free rose yogurt drink with my purchase of the poke bowl. I was so wrong about the soggy wings. When I got home, the wings were hot, crispy and delicious! I got the half and half which was a combination of original soy garlic and spicy soy garlic. And I really did enjoy them more than Bon Chon's wings because it wasn't as spicy or greasy at all! I was pleased with the size of the poke bowl but I think I should've asked for more ponzu jalapeño sauce or maybe a combination of sauces. I've heard a few people talking about this place, so I decided to give it a try the other day and get takeout for my husband and I for dinner before we headed out to run errands. I really like how they offer a free boba drink with every paid meal. I didn't indulge on that offer that day though because I'm not a big fan of taro. I decided to order the 2 poke bowls and the 6pc half and half wings. Customer service was prompt and the two workers up front both greeted me as I walked in. The young lady put in the order for the wings in the back and the young man working up front helped me out with the poke. As he was going through the motions, I noticed he didn't mix the protein with the sauces first like they do in other poke locations but I didn't question because they might just do it differently. Towards the end however, I noticed he smushed together the lid of the bowl onto the sauces at the top and it didn't look appealing. While I was paying, I noticed one of the workers fix it and shake up the bowls and put a new lid on both of them. So I guess he didn't do it in the right order? I mean, every new place has its kinks here and there. I love how I can order extra crab meat and seaweed salad with no extra charge just like my favorite poke place in Chesapeake Anyway, went home to eat. Both our poke bowls were delicious, we got full really easily. Personally, my only complaint was that it was a little too creamy because of the yum yum sauce and the sriracha mayo together so next time, I will try to mix it up with something different. This place feels really exciting to me, not gonna lie. The entire aspect of service, satisfying portions, and taste really made my experience worth becoming a regular. If only I lived in the area!! I ordered the poke bowl with 2 protein choices (salmon and tuna) and I thought it was very tasty. They drizzle a sauce of your choice on top once you're done (I got eel sauce and sriracha mayo). I initially didn't get enough rice (I could tell because the bowl has a little line marking on it) and then once I asked for more rice, the lady happily obliged. Portions are fair for ~$13 because they also have a free tea deal! I loved that part of the experience. Also the scoop of protein looks small and I feel like she didn't fill it up all the way, but surprisingly it was enough for each bite! To be fair, I'm sure she would've gone back if I asked for more. Getting food to-go comes in this cute and reusable bag! I think the one aspect that confused me was ordering my poke. Once I ordered at the register, I sat down instead of going to the side where the poke was... Definitely my fault! I assumed that they would call my name up to make my order but instead I sat for a solid 10 minutes before realizing that I had to approach the stand and give my receipt number. The food was tasty and I'd definitely be back. This is a spot for parties of 4 or less because I can definitely see this place getting busy during 3 ish/ peak times, seating is probably 5 ish tables? I discovered this spot about 2 years ago. It was the best poke I could find locally. I became obsessed with this spot. I would order it every few days for lunch and/ or dinner. However, within the last couple of months I've notice the quality of fish and food portions have declined. I would get an upset stomach every time I ordered from here. Today I ordered lunch and instantly felt nauseous afterwards. Needless to say I think today was the last time I'll be eating Domoishi. I don't know if it's because they have opened so many locations in the Hampton Roads that they have to cut costs to increase profits. Probably resulting to cheaper food suppliers. We've always loved Domoishi for the boba teas but when we visited on 8/3 I had such terrible customer service that I felt it necessary to leave a review. I come in, it's empty but there's a woman bagging food up so I wait patiently by the register as I have a recently diagnosed gluten allergy. After awhile, the women walks to the register and says "yes" and I ask if the taro milk tea is gluten free, she shrugs her shoulders and says "don't know" so I ask if she's aware if any of the teas are gluten free, she looks at me clearly annoyed and says "I don't know. I don't make them." I was shocked at her demeanor and response over something i unfortunately cannot control. I had to just leave because I felt so belittled and embarrassed. I hope management will have a conversation with the female employee working on 8/3 at 8pm regarding customer service etiquette and proper allergy knowledge. read more
