We've been on the hunt for delicious Friday night subs which has taken us on adventures all over…read morethe Milwaukee metro. A lot of local sandwich spots aren't open after 4pm or so on Fridays (more of a lunch thing). But, I kinda dig an end of the week grab and go situation. Jersey Mike's was somehow off our radar. I had been to one, one time a few years back in Chicago. But, that's it. So, we recently decided to change that on a recent Friday evening and I'm so glad we did. We popped in here for dinner and I'm decidedly a fan of their subs. They have three sizes and have both hot and cold sub. I opted for a cold sub, which was great with everything from the bread to the toppings tasting fresh and fabulous, but would definitely give one of their hot ones a try as well! It's your basic sandwich shop inside (ie: fine to eat there on the fly but you're not missing anything by taking your subs to go). The service was fast and friendly and the prices were reasonable. Get to it!

It was very mushy/sloppy like it had just been thrown together and barely even warm. Ordered online and was not done on time. Only one customer in store when I got there so not like they were busy. Was offered free drink for having to wait. I declined. Got home and there was a coupon for free sub in bottom of bag no purchase necessary. Don't need anything for free. How about learning how to make a sandwich. Is it really that difficult?

The people that run this place are super friendly and have a regular clientele. The deli counter has smoked meats, cold cuts and cheeses, etc. and in the aisles they have Polish beer, liquor, candy (some even contains alcohol), various condiments, pickled veggies, jams, canned herring, and plenty more. They even have a small refrigerator/ frozen section with cold single bottle beers, more smoked meats, perogies, hunter stew, and Czarnnina. There's a small self serve bakery section and when we recently stopped in on a Sunday for hot ham and rolls a gentlemen ahead of me got the last few remaining rolls. We got lucky however, minutes later an oven bell rang and fresh rolls were out of the oven and into a paper bag for us as we checked out. During the week they will gladly make you a tasty sandwich with generous portions. I had the roast beef and the Mrs had a ham sandwich. This place is a hidden gem! Prices are reasonable, and the service is good, check it out!

I saw a picture of their breakfast burrito on social media and made plans to stop the next day. In addition to the breakfast burrito, which came with a side of hash browns, I ordered cheddar broccoli soup and was gifted a brownie for visiting. The breakfast burrito is build your own with a bunch of different options for meats, cheese, and veggies. I went with bacon, American cheese, and spinach and wasn't disappointed. The burrito was hefty and every one of the ingredients stood out. This is something I would definitely come back for. The three hash brown patties tasted as you'd expect and I appreciate that they weren't cold in the middle or bland. You can definitely notice the freshness in the soup. It was thick and used actual florets of broccoli, not just the stalks. Given the size of the burrito I had just eaten, though, I wish there was an option for a smaller portion of soup. The bowl was large and if you just plan on having that as a meal it's fine, but I would have preferred buying a cup as compared to a large bowl. Hopefully that's something they consider as a menu tweak. I'm not a big brownie person, but I enjoyed it. Like the burrito and the soup, it was a sizable portion, so worth the price if you're buying one. I'd be interested in trying their lemon bar or coffee cake on a future visit as those are more up my alley. I enjoyed talking to the woman who was prepping the dining area while I was there. She mentioned that Senor Luna's next door is their sister location and that Miss Daisy's has such early hours (currently 5am during the week) so as to cater to the nearby business park. I appreciate the early hours because I can easily make it there and back over to where I work in plenty of time.

It took me awhile to find Goldcoast Subs, but am I ever glad I did…read more I definitely have a little bit of Christopher Columbus syndrome as I'm the one out of my group of friends that 'discovered' this place. And after introducing them to Goldcoast, I definitely love to take the credit of finding it. Especially because they all enjoy it as much as I do. Goldcoast Subs is this hole in the wall place on Layton Ave next to what I believe is a cowboy boot store? But once you go in, the brightness will burn your eyes -- but that's just the surface gold baby. Once you get to the counter and read the subs they have -- you're hungry. You want, no, need one. And there's so many good ones to choose from. My go-to sandwich is the 'Say Cheese', three different kinds of cheeses smothered in what I think is oil, mayo, spices, mustard and something else that's just too good. It's seriously heaven in a mouthful and I swear by this sandwich. 'Gold Dust' I believe is another great one, your standard ham sub with all the fixings one could ask for. This one also comes with the rich spices that the Say Cheese has and that's what makes Goldcoast such an awesome place. The flavor you taste can't and isn't replicated elsewhere. So do yourself a favor and get over there!

Overall though a great sandwich with great taste. The girl working the counter was polite, prompt and extremely quick. I love the overall vibe of the entire restaurant.

I saw a review in the paper, and here on yelp a while ago, and I finally made it…read more First, the past yelp review talked about the gyro. I got it, not a fan. Maybe it was the sauce or something, probally my taste buds, but I won't get it again. My companion got the stuffed backed potatoes. Huge, flavorful, and for a person that usually complains about everyone's food, not a thing from her. Like I said I didnt like mine, but the other people around were all saying great things about theirs. And portion sizes are huge. Ill be back to try the chicken salad, it looked amazing. And I saw a phili go out that rivals anything I've seen. Ill be back The worst thing is the location. If you dont know it's there, you won't find it, so look hard

There was no one in there. We were the only customers. Very talkative guy. We didn't know what to expect so we took a minute reviewing the menu. We went ahead and ordered two turkey sandwiches. Options for bread are white wheat or rye. Other than that, we were only asked if mayo, lettuce and tomato were OK. Gus is very friendly saying we are going to love it!!! So we sat down the sandwiches came out freshly done. You can tell he takes a lot of pride in building his sandwiches. My boyfriend really enjoyed his sandwich. It's exactly what he was looking for. For my personal review I wouldn't really say this is my favorite. It was just regular white bread stacked high with three slices of cheese, a ton of lettuce and a stack of turkey. Way too big for me. I would've preferred sourdough bread maybe some pickles and toasted? Maybe some avocado and other add on options so that you can build your sandwich..... And of course a lighter sandwich. I definitely had to take the other half to go, but I wasn't really impressed. To be quite honest i could have just made a regular sandwich at home just like this. There wasn't anything special. I wouldn't spend my money on something that I could make at home. For any of those that enjoy just basic sandwiches like this i would say this should be your to go spot to help support the owners. Hours are short so you have to make sure you make your way early. Again, I'm not taking away from the fact that this is a great lunch spot and the owners deserve all the praise and business. You can tell they genuinely care. There is plenty of seating in here. Also, while other comments were made, Gus, definitely thanks you for your business quite a few times too.
