I love Domino's pizza especially when you're having a late dinner. I actually prefer Listrani's pizza, but they were already closed. Though I've been going to McLean Domino's for several years, I hesitate coming back. I may have to go elsewhere due to the not so great customer service experience I had this evening. NOTE: My daughter has a food sensitivity to dairy. Important thing to remember for this story. I placed our normal order of extravaganzza and meatzza pizza (half with cheese and the other NO CHEESE). However, as you can see with the photo below that didn't happen. I get it; sometimes this happens with special orders. But normally there's an apology involved and a quick resolution, basically a new pizza is made. This time we got into a much heated debate that provolone cheese IS a cheese. Though the manager did agree that he wouldn't add sausage to a "no meat" pizza. The debate kept going on and on. Basically I had to ask him if he was going to fix this issue. That's all I really want. Mistakes happen, but then the right thing to do is to fix it. The wrong thing to do is argue with a hangry customer by denying her feeding her hungry family without any trips to the hospital. Eventually we got our pizza and apology. No matter how hard the the manager continued on with the provolone is NOT a cheese debate, we stopped arguing with him and let him have the last word. I just wanted to go home and eat my cold extravaganzza pizza and feed the rest of the family. Thats why they got a 2 star because at least he fixed the issue. Lessons learned? 1. Domino's system is flawed. Provolone isn't flagged when there's a request for no cheese. Manager recommended that I list all the ingredients to not include on to my order. 2. Always specify your allergies or food sensitivities in the comments. Though I highly doubt my experience this evening would have been any different. 3. Time to find a new Dominos. read more

I can't count on fingers and toes the number of deliveries I've had for the past 5+ years. Domino's is very consistent with fresh ingredients and hardly any grease. Never had an issue with an order and delivery takes 30-45 min. All the food is delivered pipping hot and on point - pizza, cheesy bread, lava cake, wings, etc. The delivery guy even had a smile on his face. A simple hand-tossed cheese pizza with hearty marinara sauce with roasted red pepper and spinach hits the spot! While I enjoy the light and crispiness of the thin crust pizzas, I love the garlicky crust of the hand-tossed pizza. The creamy alfredo sauce is a bit too bland, while the garlic white sauce tastes kind of dry. The Medium Pan Pizza is surprisingly really tasty! It's a bit doughy and has a nice buttery bottom with crispy edges. It's a notch above Pizza Hut! Love the Rewards - spend $60 and get a free Medium 2 topping pizza on the house. I've enjoyed ordering from here over a long period of years. Everything is solid but everytime I redeem my points for the 2 liter soda, i've tried it 4 times now. I decided too for the large Extravaganza pizza wich will feed my family if four and then some. This thing is loaded with just about every meat and veggie imaginable. I know for sure it has pepperoni, ham, and sausage. On the veggie side of things, they topped it with green peppers, onions and mushrooms which are not my favorite, and black olives which U do like. Oh, It has been a year since this Dominos screwed us out of money (25-30%) by not giving us the best deal. Like when you ask, what is the best deal, you expect them to be knowledgeable. It is bad enough the prices are not in the store. Well today the relatively new boss got Dominos from the McLean store for the earlier crew (15-20 people) Some of the people who knew of the mishap informed him after the fact that we don't do Dominos. It is not like we didn't give them a chance. They could not fix the mistake even though we realized before we got our food, we had to contact management. Management never got back to me, after 2 months of trying to get a hold of someone, I gave a bad review on google. I got a response a month ish later on the google review with a site to contact. I don't order from Domino's but the Pizza Hut Bear us closed and now doesn't deliver to our house. I prefer other pizza joints but after my son tried dominos at a party asked to have some. So I ordered a pizza, cinnamon twists and the chicken pasta carbonara. Our delivery came and when I opened the door the delivery guy opened the heat bag and said "get your food". Uh what?!? Ok. Not a big deal I guess. Brought our food in. The pizza was fine but can't say the same for the rest of the order. The cinnamon twists were greasy and the bottom of the box was just flooded with grease and cinnamon. The pasta was burnt all over the top and even on the container it was in. Ordered an Extra-large thin crust pizza and they gave us a medium inside an XL box. We counted a total of 7 pieces of pepperoni on the entire pizza - most was just cheese. It's best to do carry out here as they get multiple delivery orders so at times it can take 20-45 mins to get your food. If this is a issue I recommend carry out because I noticed at times they are more quick with making sure your food is done. Food has always been fresh and well done. It's always nice and hot and full of cheesy goodness. The one time it took a hour for the food to be done the manager was kind enough to give us the food free of charge as well as some extras. Overall they have had good customer service in this spot for a while. Make sure to always check your order here before they leave if they made a mistake I let them know and they always fix it. My only issue is parking here it's just a pain, there is only what 6 or 4 spots? I hope they would just move next door to the old location of McDonald's because that would be more well suited for them. read more

We ordered late night pizza online for pickup around 11 pm and when we arrived the main door was locked and they had to let us in the side door because they were "closed for pick up." Luckily we were able to pick up our pizzas though. When we got home we realized that one of the pizzas that was supposed to be Brooklyn style was actually hand tossed, and they had forgotten our two sauces that we had paid $.75 a piece. I am beyond pissed about the manager of this store and the experience I have had. So our order which we ordered for lunch from work was literally done for an hour before it even left the store. I called and spoke with the asshole of a manager that is there who then told me and I quote "Yeah, I know it's been here for over an hour. I normally wouldn't write a review of Domino's, but we've been ordering delivery from this location fairly regularly over the past year and things have always come relatively quickly without mixups. While not specific to this location, It's only worth ordering the specials, and even then, the prices appear artificially low due to a hidden delivery fee that's included in the total, as well as a separate tip for the driver -- that $19.99 combo special will end up being closer to $30 at the end of the day. Still, not a bad way to go for families, as long as adults set their expectations that this is not Pizza per se, but sort of its own cuisine. To this location's credit, they open up their kitchen for guided tours to local Cub Scout troops, and the kids won't stop raving about the giant pizza oven inside -- I wish I could see it for myself. read more

Last Friday evening, my husband and I hosted my daughter's softball team party. The parents had decided in advance to order Domino's Pizza. I'd like to tell you about my experience. Assuming that our local Domino's (1420 Chain Bridge Road, McLean, VA 22101) would be busy on a Friday evening, I placed my order online at 4:00 p.m. I ordered four pizzas for 6:30 p.m. delivery. A copy of my email confirmation is enclosed for your information. Here is a summary of my ensuing interactions with the local location: 6:45 p.m. Called to check on status of order. Was informed by male employee that location was very busy and behind in orders, but that my pizzas were in the oven and would be delivered in 20 minutes. To apologize for any inconvenience, we would not be charged for the pizzas. 7:25 p.m. Called to check on status of order. Was informed by male employee #2 that there was a pending backlog of 100 pizzas waiting to be made. I asked to speak with the manager; the employee said that the manager was out of the building. I explained that I had placed my order with 2-1/2 hours of advance notice and that I had 22 people in my house awaiting dinner. Male employee: "Well, what do you want me to do about it?" I said, "I want you to expedite my order and get those pizzas to me as quickly as you possibly can." The employee hung up on me. 7:30 p.m. Called back. Phone was answered by male employee #3. I explained that his colleague had hung up on me and that I wanted to talk with the manager immediately. Male employee #3 apologized, put me on hold, came back and said manager was making pizzas but could I hold? Yes, I said. Male manager comes on the line. I explained my situation for the fourth time. He put me on hold. A female employee picked up the line. I said that I was talking with the manager and she said he had asked her to take over. I explained my situation for the fifth time. She apologized, said that she would handle the order personally, and would get it to me as soon as possible. 7:35 p.m. The female employee called me, identified herself as Joy. She was very nice, said that our pizzas were in the oven, they would be out in four minutes and delivered to me hot and fresh. 8:05 p.m. Pizzas still not here. I called the store again, asked for Joy, and she asked me if I was pleased with the pizzas. When I explained that I had not received them, she was astonished, said she would check on them. 8:15 p.m. Pizzas delivered, four hours and 15 minutes after I ordered them and nearly 2 hours after my requested delivery time. This experience has left me--and the many other adults who were my guests--swearing never to order Domino's Pizza again, and committed to spreading the word about the appalling customer service we received. No matter how great your sauce is or how artisanal your creations are, all that becomes irrelevant when a customer is unable to get a simple cheese pizza in a reasonable amount of time. Further, if your online ordering system does not prioritize orders based on the time they were received, then customers who order in advance are penalized and those calling later are rewarded. However, the extreme rudeness and lack of caring I was subjected to Friday evening was beyond the pale. I felt it important to bring it to your attention, and I hope that not many of your other customers were treated the same way. read more

Most definitely THE WORST dominoes experience. Our pizzas were ordered ahead of time at 11:15am, and we asked for them to be delivered at 12:00pm. According to the tracker, food was prepared by 11:52am. Cutting it close huh? But I checked google maps and it says the store is only an 8 min drive away. 12:06pm it says Carlos is already on his way. 12:20 still no delivery. We called the store and we were told driver is on his way. 12:40 we call again, still no update. At this point, our lunch hour was already almost over. I told my coworker to ask for a refund since we were waiting a ridiculous amount of time for two pizzas that have been ready and rocking in the delivery car for 40 minutes. What was i thinking! When our food arrived our sandwich was immediately dropped. by the driver we opened our pzza to find the same fate had happened. In terms of chain pizza places, Dominos is our favorite- hands down. If you're down to do takeout, these guys were great - ordered a pizza and then went to the wrong location, and they held onto it got me right up to closing time. Friendly staff. The pizza was standard Dominos - heavy & greasy (in the best way), very cheesy, and an absolute steal for takeout. Bacon, jalapeños, pineapple, and white sauce. Just try it. Seriously. They have already offered us 2 pizzas for free for the mess up they do every time. Today, we ordered our "free" pizza, it came COLD and burned. I called the shop to inquire about where the order was, and was simply told that the driver was on his way as if I was being impatient. Then, when it finally arrived, it was cold. The amount of frustration this pizza has put me through has made me wish I never ordered it in the first place. I made my order at 11 o'clock only for it to say its that it has been sent at 11:42. I live about 5 minutes away from this location in particular and it has been about an hour, and I still have no pizza. I called only to be obviously hung up on multiple times. Fantastic place, redesigned on the inside. The staff are very friendly and polite. The eating area has extra space to wait in compared to before. If I could give zero stars I would. We just moved to the area from Potomac, MD. It was my first time ordering anything in the area. My son had just picked up the same pizza the night before. I tasted it and it was perfect. So, I decided to try to order one today. To my surprise it came delivered with hardly any toppings. Considering I paid over $50 and tipped the driver another $15. So I called the store to tell them my concerns. Initially, they said it was a different store. After calling around I found out it indeed was this store. I called back to explain my disappointment of my topping portion. I could hear the manager on duty telling the young lady to tell me they will give me a credit for one pizza, just next time I need to just order extra toppings ! The audacity to blame their short cuts on my ordering. Half of one of the pizzas looked like cheese only. They need to be trained how to handle customer service.
