Decided to order from this location and glad we did! Wow! Why didn't anyone tell me about Domino's Brooklyn Style Pizza?!?! It has renewed my interested in Domino's! It's super thin and perfectly floppy! Just the right amount of sauce & cheese so it's not super weighed down. Toppings sealed the deal. We'll definitely be ordering again!

We ordered a whole bird with a side of roasted potatoes (Rosemary Reds) and greens beans - plus the mole and Clucker's style sauces - and the cornbread... we also added a side of Mac and Cheese. The chicken was perfectly moist with a solid rub that had a great smokiness and rosemary flavor. It paired BEAUTIFULLY with both sauces. The mole negro is a bit thicker than I'm used to, but is perfect for the chicken, it's most like a peanut sauce consistency. The Clucker's sauce, a play on a honey mustard, is closer to a chutney - spectacular. Potatoes were perfectly seasoned with some roasted onions, they weren't super crispy but I attribute that to delivery (they were still a 5/5). Green beans were nicely blanched and had a strong fresh garlic flavor. Mac and cheese is not baked and more gooey - I prefer that, although a lot of people (my wife included) prefer it baked. Cornbread was delightful, but I'd get the corn tortillas next time, especially with that mole. If I could rate this place above 5 stars, I would, and we had delivery! I can't speak to the ambiance. But when recently walked past there, it looks great inside and has a patio, and the food, just from looking at people's plates, was memorable. Do support this awesome establishment! Can't wait to have it again!

We finally decided to give them another shot at their HighWood location and I can say, we will probably never eat there again. It wasn't the food, it was more the service. So we ordered our family fest for dine it. The restaurant wasn't packed, but was occupied with a good amount diners. We weren't given enough silverware, so we requested more and got handed a basket with silverware. I went to place it on the table and it laid unevenly, so I lifted it up and found what looked like a black rubber stopper. After inspecting it more, I realized it was a rubber chair foot covering. How the hell it ended up on the table, I don't really know, except I'm pretty sure it was stuck onto the bottom of the basket that they gave me. Regardless- how unsanitary. How was something that should be on the bottom of a chair, make its way on top of a table?? And when I brought it to the attention of one of the workers- he "apologized" like it was no big deal. By then I had already lost my appetite. It made me question the cleanliness of the place... never again....

While I'd love to eat fried chicken, I tried to stick with healthier options. I was thrilled when i saw you can substitute the fried chicken for charboiled chicken. We picked up a bunch of honey butter chicken sandwiches for the whole family: fried chicken for husband & kids and charboiled for myself. Everyone was very happy with their food! We also got a side of mac and cheese (yummy, but VERY cheesy) and mashed potatoes (too much gravy for my liking). While we only picked up the inside of the restaurant is bright and there's lots of spots to sit. Looks like they have a small private room upstairs and will have a patio in the back for warmer days ahead. It's a great option to pick up or eat in with the family and also a great spot for kids to go on their own. I have a feeling like their across the street neighbor, Red Hen, they'll be busy with middle schoolers soon. Great addition to Glencoe!

There were a lot of interesting options on the menu but we decided to order a four piece meal which came with four pieces of fried chicken, four mini corn muffins and honey butter. For sides we ordered the kale cole slaw and pimento mac n cheese. All of it was delicious! The weather was nice so we took advantage of the bright and welcoming outdoor area in the back of the restaurant. While we were full when we left we couldn't pass up dessert so we ordered the cherry dump cake and lemon verbena cheesecake to go. Both were also very good. While not inexpensive we felt the prices were reasonable given the quality of the food. For all of these reasons we will be back!

There is street parking in front, and a municipal lot just a few steps to the north; on weekends it can be a little crowded. Inside, the décor is very industrial-grade chic, with blonde wood tables and black metal chairs; it is nice and clean. When you order, you are given a little buzzer which lights up when your order is ready; you can then go to the counter to pick up your tray. You are also given a cup for drinks, which are self-dispensed from a machine and there is a self-serve counter for cutlery, napkins, and so on. There were some fries with it (actually, a lot of fries) and there are condiments for your use on the table (ketchup, mustard, salt, pepper). . NB I'm not overly familiar with smashburgers but it was very good. . A small comment on the burger: It would have been nice to have the hamburger bun a little toasted. It was not soggy, but it was soft. But again, everything was very good. I very much enjoyed my visit to Backyard Grill and would definitely recommend! RECOMMENDED

We thought we would give them one more chance after seeing a positive review on Instagram. Unfortunately, we were disappointed again. This time burnt Roman flour under the crust and on top of a potion of the thin crust pizza which made it inedible - had to throw it out. It is like sand in your mouth. The deep dish was okay, but not nearly as good as when they opened and toppings had slid to one side - but we understand that happens. I really want to like this place. Lefty's had so much potential. Guess we are back to ordering Lous, which is consistent and edible. Hate to write a bad review, but after three bad experiences in a row, I want others to know what they may encounter. Response to owner: we gave you two more tries after that first bad experience. Do you want to be the emperor with no clothes or do you want to know you need to improve so your business doesn't tank. I guess the latter. Such a shame.

It was Friday so we just grabbed a couple of seats at the bar since we didn't have a reservation and wanted to watch a couple of the games. The space itself is quite nice and very open. I noticed the tables had plenty of space between them so definitely not a spot they cram everyone in. The staff at the bar was super friendly and gave us their thoughts on some of the dishes we were thinking about. For starters we ordered the fired calamari which was super tasty but the bowl had a decent pool of grease under. For our mains my wife ordered the southwest chicken salad which was super tasty and had really solid quality chicken. For my main I had the burger and was really impressed. They even cut it in half for me. I'd say it's definitely in my top 10 in Chicagoland and is very similar to Hampton Social's burger. All in all it was a nice place and I'd definitely go back. The valet is cheap at 5 bucks but it is basically your only option around here. It's a nice space, all sectioned off like it is it never felt crowded no matter how full it got. We tried several dishes. Mussels, cornbread, chicken wings( harissa with tahini dip), sesame tuna, Scottish salmon, and the double cheeseburger with truffle fries. Honestly everything was delicious! The burger was perfect, which is harder to achieve than people think. Juicy, not underdone or overdone, cheesy. The truffle fries weren't worth the upgrade as the truffle oil just made the fries soggy. The cornbread was definitely worth getting, some of the best I've ever had. The chicken wings were really good, not over sauced with a good heat level that didn't kill my palate. The service was close to a high end level, with waiters and servers checking in regularly as well as wiping down the table after appetizers and providing replace silverware. The water is presented in nice bottles which is always a classy touch. They did take a bit to bring a second glass of wine but after a reminder it came right away. For dessert I was offered a complimentary soft serve ice cream in a chocolate cup (this was a belated birthday dinner) which was very nice. We also ordered the skillet cookie which was quite tasty but, I think, a bit over done on the bottom. As a side note the bathrooms were clean and they have gender neutral bathrooms as well. One thing that this restaurant suffers from Is that it's near the metra tracks. Several times throughout the meal we had to stop talking while waiting for the very loud trains to go by. Certainly not Greenwoods fault but it does hurt the ambiance a bit. I'd also like to see a larger menu here. Some of my companions just ate off of the appetizers menu because nothing in the limited entree menu appealed to them. Overall this is a nice dining experience that treats you like a fancy downtown restaurant, without breaking the bank.
