My wife has been using a storage unit there for 16+ months now. I have consistently paid their monthly bill shortly after receiving it. For February 2021 they sent out their invoice late on 8 Feb 2021 saying payment past due 1 Feb 2021 and added a $10 delinquent fee. I called their office during normal business hours to discuss this matter. No one answered the telephone. In essence they are billing me a $10 delinquency fee because they did not get their invoice to me on time for the February 2021 payment. So the question is, " Is this an honest mistake on their part, or is it part of an effort to increase their bottom line for what maybe a lean month? ". They are fine as long as they are getting your money. I had a storage unit here for a few years. When I called with questions about closing out my unit I was met with hostility and the lady with white hair hung the phone up on me in mid conversation. Very unprofessional. I moved out on new years eve day around mid afternoon. I went to the office to formally close out but NO-ONE (I repeat)NO-ONE was in the office. So I called a friend of mine who just happens to be an employee there and I told him, hey man I'm up here at the storage unit and I just got all my stuff out-- I said nobody is here right now but I would appreciate you letting management know on Thurs. when yall open back up that I moved out so I don't have to pay that $85 for the month of January. He said OK no problem. Anyways fast forward to Thursday. They were closed for New Years Day so the next business day was Thurday the 2nd of January. I went in explained to management the situation and needless to say it feel on deaf ears. I was told that they were in the office all day new years eve and the employee whom I called to relay the message basically his word was not good enough. Regardless of all that I was charged another month anyways. Like I said I was in the unit for around 3 years never was late making my monthly payments and in the end can't get the benefit of the doubt. Go figure that. All I can say is never again. I called at around 2 PM to inquire about pricing and availability. I was told. "we are really busy right now. It is not a good time."

Unbelievably bad customer service. I was a repeat customer here for years renting out up to three storage units at a time. I was moving out of the last one on the last day of the month. The clerk in the store told me that since the last day of the month, if they closed before I was done, I could close out the following business day and not be charged for the next month. Their official website (http://www.dominionselfstorage.com/) shows their hours as being open until 1pm on Saturday. I showed up to close out at 1230pm on Saturday only to find that the actually close at noon. When I went back the next business day, they accepted no responsibility for this. They didn't care that they advertise the wrong hours. They refused to review the security camera footage to prove I was there when I explained. They didn't care that their employee told me I could close out the first of the month. They charged me for an entire additional month. The wrong hours are still posted on their website now 10 days later, so it seems they may enjoy the extra income generated by this misrepresentation. Beware. read more

I had a climate controlled storage unit here for over six months. I paid a high premium to have an interior climate controlled unit which was large enough to house the contents of my entire house. During the period of time for which my items were in the storage unit the building itself had a leak, causing water to get into my storage unit. I notified the facility manager as soon as I realized multiple items had been damaged and even molded due to the building leaking water into my storage unit. I'm giving this facility one star because of the way the management handled my case. I was told that there was nothing they could do to assist with the cost due to loss of of the items. I was told it was my responsibility to get insurance coverage for the unit, which is correct. Retrospectively, I totally agree that I should have had supplemental coverage. However I do not agree with the fact that I paid such a high premium per month for climate control when the building itself to leak into my storage unit causing over $500 in damages. The management even made reference to the fact that my unit was right next to the dehumidifier and it should've mitigated some of the problems. I showed the management the multiple boxes which had developed green and black mold. They did not express concern. Shortly after moving the boxes that were damaged I developed a severe case of bronchitis which was directly related to the exposure I suffered while moving my boxes and other contents. The management of this facility handled the issue inappropriately given the fact that green and black mold had developed on multiple boxes in my storage unit , which again was supposed to be climate controlled. I advise them of the health risks related to the mold and expressed my concern that other members or tenants of this building should be notified. I would not recommend anyone to put any valuable items in the units at this facility, even if they purchase a climate controlled option. The management had no sympathy in regards to the fact that they're building called irreplaceable item damage, black mold, and green mold on multiple kitchen items and various other household items in the unit. The manager of the unit focused on lecturing me about the importance of including this claim on my homeowners insurance versus working with me to come to an agreement in regards to the loss of my items. The Customer service and interaction with their customers is absolutely deplorable. read more
