We rented a climate controlled unit for the purpose of storing many old photos news articles about our family and friends, furniture was stored as well. Much to our surprise yesterday 7/29/25 the a/c was not working everything smelled like mold!!!!!! the only reason the furniture was not ruined is because it was still packaged in moving boxes. My husband and I rented a unit in Ranson when we moved here in late 2022. The rental agreement rate increased without explanation or justification from $176. per mo. to $293. by March of 2024. I called repeatedly and spoke with a clerk who said she would send my concerns to a manager. Over a month passed before Dante returned my call and told me he had a street value for my unit of $550.00 per month and he could rent it easy for that so I was actually getting a deal. I asked how much notice they needed for me to vacate and I started moving out that day. I had no problem finding a unit for a much lower price from a reliable source. Very disappointed in the service we have received here. Stopped in late September to inquire about storage unit rental and potentially storing our RV during an already stressful moving process. Made a reservation for a 5x10 climate controlled unit we were shown to begin 10/16 - and left feeling we had checked that off our list. Showed up on the 16th to be told only one unit was available - not the unit we were shown because "cash paying customers" get priority over reservations. HAD WE BEEN TOLD THAT - we would have rented the unit on the spot instead of reserving something that essentially meant nothing. The unit we were shown reeked or moth balls/ bug spray - but we were stuck with it since it is the only climate controlled company in our area. Their other local facility didn't have a unit the size we wanted either - so plan B was to up-sell a larger unit and get more rent per month from us. AND it took the manager on duty half an hour to get the district manager to approve the price we were quoted on the day we made the reservation. it took HOURS - and has taken hours every time we have come in - and the reservation saved us no time and provided zero peace of mind. And today - we showed up to drop off the first item to our storage and SURPRISE surprise - our gate code didn't work. If I could give less than one star I would. Wasted our time and made a stressful time more stressful. read more

We just recently moved and we needed a place to store our belongings. I'm so glad we chose Self Storage Plus. The people are friendly and caring about your personal belongings. During our move we forgot to lock the storage and Josh called me and told me my storage door was not locked properly. He waited for us to get there and lock the door. We accidentally did it again a week later and Josh found it again open and called us about it. He really makes his rounds and makes sure that everyone's stuff is safe.
