They make their own nut milks and date syrup in house. Delicious latte options with housemade nut milks. Mountain Climber sandwich was delicious! "The Best" sandwich was just ok. I really wish they offered a better bread option for their sandwiches Ideally a sprouted whole grain sourdough,anything but the stripped down white version. Morning glory muffin and raw donut were outstanding (both gluten free). They also have a locally made Kiefer water. Chocolate zucchini muffin not my favorite (gluten free). They do accept credit cards now. WiFi available. read more

Cute little cafe where I had a tea and muffin while reading a book. Service was fast and friendly. Food was great, it was a fun place to kill some time. A beautiful old building with worn wood floors and local art on the walls houses a fantastic bakery/cafe, I have always been happy with the servvice and atmosphere and their coffee is excellent. The real treats for me are the amazing muffins, I scored a couple white chocolate ginger pear muffins like I always get and they are frickin amazing! My other fave is the chocolate orange one, maybe it has espresso too I can't recall cuz I don't get out much cuz pandemic and all. Keep up the great work! I live for kickass independent cafes. While this statement may seem hyperbolic, you must understand that one of my hobbies and true joys in life is finding and patronising independent coffeeshops. I love everything about them: drinking coffee, sitting, reading, surfing the web, consuming homemade baked goods, casually meeting with friends and acquaintances...everything good in life! Nelson has some great cafes, and Dominion meets many of my needs as a coffee-addicted cafe junky. The decor is domestic and warm, the coffee is wonderful, they offer a decent selection of muffins and cakes made in-house, and they are an independent business. If you have looked at any of my other reviews, you will know that two things really irritate me: poor customer service and establishments that do not accept plastic. The servers at Dominion are adequate but slightly inattentive, and the cafe is cash only. Seriously guys, pay the 0.02% service charge and get a darn-tootin' debit machine. Their chocolate orange espresso muffin is to die for: luscious orange cake dotted with ground espresso beans and rich dark chocolate discs. Just ordered a sandwich called "The Best" which certainly did not live up to it's name. Ordered it to take out - promptly brought it back to work - a half a block walk away. Literally could not eat it. It was looked like it was just thrown together. One of the two pieces of bread was much smaller than the other so much of the filling just fell out. The bacon was barely cooked and stringy - the egg which was a hard boiled egg cut in half only took up half the sandwich so the rest had no egg - the bread was soaked in grease as was the wrapping the sandwich was in....... it all went in the garbage.....and all for $10.50. What a waste. Won't be going here again. Limited menu - high prices - and if today's food was indicative of the rest - awful food. read more

Fantastic food, great coffee, cute atmosphere. They even have an outdoor patio for the summer, which is hard to get in Nelson! They have the best muffins in town. Only thing is... they are still cash only. read more
